< 2 Corinthians 1 >

1 Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, and all the saints that are in Achaia:
ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲡⲥⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲕⲗⲏⲥⲓⲁ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ ⲕⲟⲣⲓⲛⲑⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲟⲡ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲭⲁⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ
2 grace be to you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
ⲃ̅ⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲙⲛ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and God of all consolation; who comforteth us in all our affliction,
ⲅ̅ϥⲥⲙⲁⲙⲁⲁⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲙⲙⲛⲧϣⲁⲛϩⲧⲏϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ
4 that we may be able to comfort those, that are in any trouble, by the consolation wherewith we ourselves are comforted by God.
ⲇ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲉϣϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ⲉⲥⲉⲡⲥ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
5 For as the sufferings for the sake of Christ abound on us, so our consolation by Christ doth also abound.
ⲉ̅ϫⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲙⲙⲟⲕϩⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲟϣ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϥⲣϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡⲥ
6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is wrought out by the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or if we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
ⲋ̅ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲉⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲑⲗⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲥⲉⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲡⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲅⲓ ϩⲛ ⲑⲩⲡⲟⲙⲟⲛⲏ ⲛⲛⲓϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲛⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲛϣⲱⲡ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲧⲁϫⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ
7 And our hope is firm concerning you, knowing that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also of the consolation.
ⲍ̅ⲉⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲓⲛⲱⲛⲟⲥ ⲉⲛⲉⲙⲕⲟⲟϩ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲉⲥⲟⲡⲥ
8 For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction which befel us in Asia, that we were exceedingly pressed above our strength, so that we despaired even of life:
ⲏ̅ⲛⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲣⲁⲧⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲏⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲑⲗⲓⲯⲓⲥ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲥⲓⲁ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲃⲁⲣⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲡⲁⲣⲁⲧⲉⲛϭⲟⲙ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣ ⲉⲛⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲕⲉⲱⲛϩ
9 but we had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:
ⲑ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲛ ⲁⲛⲕⲁ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ϩⲁ ⲉⲓⲁⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲛϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲧⲏⲛ ⲕⲏ ⲉⲣⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ
10 who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver, in whom we trust that He will yet deliver us:
ⲓ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲟⲩϫⲟⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲓⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϭⲟⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲟⲩϫⲟⲛ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲓ ⲟⲛ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲟⲩϫⲟⲛ
11 you also assisting by prayer for us, that the favor obtained for us by the prayers of many might be thankfully acknowledged by many on our account.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟ ⲛϣⲃⲣⲣϩⲱⲃ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲟⲡⲥ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡϩⲟ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲡⲉϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲡⲱϩ ϣⲁⲣⲟⲛ ⲉⲩⲉϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ϩⲁϩ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ
12 For this is our rejoicing, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and pious sincerity, not with carnal wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and especially towards you.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲉⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲟⲡ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲫⲓⲁ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁⲣⲕⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲛⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲇⲉ ϩⲁⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
13 For we write no other things to you, but what ye own and acknowledge, and I hope ye will always acknowledge.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉϯⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϯϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲍⲉ ⲇⲉ ϫⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϣⲁⲃⲟⲗ
14 As ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, as ye also are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲩⲱⲛⲛ ⲁⲡⲟ ⲙⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲱⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
15 And in this confidence I had a mind to come to you first, (that ye might have a second benefit, ) and to pass by you into Macedonia;
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲉⲓⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲓⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲙⲉϩ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲙⲟⲧ
16 and then to come to you again from Macedonia, and by you to be forwarded on my way to Judea.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲁⲕⲉⲇⲟⲛⲓⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲙⲁⲕⲉⲇⲟⲛⲓⲁ ⲉⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲥⲉⲑⲡⲟⲓ ϩⲓⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉϯⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓⲁ
17 Now when I intended this, was I chargeable with levity? or what I purpose, do I purpose from carnal motives, that with me there should be yea, yea, and then no, no?
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ϭⲉ ⲉⲁⲓⲟⲩⲁϣϥ ⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲁⲓⲭⲣⲱ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲁⲥⲁⲓ ⲏ ⲛⲉϯⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲏ ⲉⲉⲓⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉϥⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲥⲉ ⲛⲥⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲟⲛ
18 But the faithful God, He knows, that our word to you was not yes and no.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲡⲱϩ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲙⲟⲛ
19 For Jesus Christ the Son of God, who was preached among you by us, even by me, and Silvanus, and Timothy, was not yea and nay,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲁϣⲉⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲥⲓⲗⲟⲩⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⲙⲡϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲥⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲥⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
20 but was yea in Him, (for all the promises of God are in Him yea, and in Him amen, ) to the glory of God by us:
ⲕ̅ⲛⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲥⲉ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ⲉⲡϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲛ
21 but He that establisheth us as well as you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; who hath also sealed us,
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉⲧⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁϩⲥⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
22 and given us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲥⲫⲣⲁⲅⲓⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲏⲃ ⲙⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲁ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ
23 But I call God to witness on my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet to Corinth:
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ϯⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓϯⲥⲟ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲓ ϭⲉ ⲉⲕⲟⲣⲓⲛⲑⲟⲥ
24 not that we are lords over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲟⲩⲭ ⲟⲧⲉⲓ ϫⲉ ⲉⲛⲟ ⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉ ⲛⲉϣⲃⲣⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲣⲁϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ
