< 1 Corinthians 5 >
1 It is commonly reported that there is lewdness among you, and such lewdness as is not named even amongst the heathens, that one should have his father's wife.
ⲁ̅ⲥⲉⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲣⲱ ⲉⲩⲡⲟⲣⲛⲉⲓⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲩⲡⲟⲣⲛⲉⲓⲁ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲉⲛⲥϩⲛ ⲛⲕⲉϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲁⲛ ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲁ ϫⲓⲑⲓⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲉⲓⲱⲧ
2 And are ye puffed up, and have not rather grieved? that he who hath committed this fact might be expelled from among you?
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲥⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣϩⲏⲃⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲉϥⲓ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲙⲏⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲉⲓϩⲱⲃ
3 For I indeed, absent in body, but present in spirit, have already, as if I were present, judged him who hath wrought this wickedness: in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
ⲅ̅ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛϯϩⲁⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲁⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲉⲓϩⲁⲧⲉⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲁⲓⲟⲩⲱ ⲉⲓⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉⲓϩⲁⲧⲛⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲉⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲧⲉⲓϩⲉ
4 when ye are assembled together with my spirit, by the power, I say,
ⲇ̅ⲉⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩϩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲁⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ
5 of our Lord Jesus Christ, to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. Your boasting is not good.
ⲉ̅ⲉϯ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
6 Do ye not know that a little leaven leaveneth the whole mass?
ⲋ̅ⲛⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩ ⲡⲉⲧⲛϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩⲓ ⲛⲑⲁⲃ ⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣⲙ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ϥⲓ
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new mass, without leaven. For our paschal lamb, even Christ, was slain for us.
ⲍ̅ϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲓⲑⲁⲃ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲙ ⲛⲃⲣⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛϩⲉⲛⲁⲑⲁⲃ ⲕⲁⲓⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲱⲧ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
8 Wherefore let us keep the feast, not with the old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavening of sincerity and truth.
ⲏ̅ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲙⲁⲣⲛⲣϣⲁ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲑⲁⲃ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲁⲥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲑⲁⲃ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ϩⲓ ⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲓⲁ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲁⲑⲁⲃ ⲛⲧⲃⲃⲟ ϩⲓⲙⲉ
9 I wrote to you in an epistle, not to associate with whoremongers:
ⲑ̅ⲁⲓⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲟⲗⲏ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲱϩ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ
10 but I did not mean not at all with the whoremongers of this world, or the covetous, or rapacious, or idolaters: since ye must then go out of the world.
ⲓ̅ⲟⲩ ⲡⲁⲛⲧⲱⲥ ⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲏ ⲙⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲣⲡ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲉϩⲉ ⲉⲓⲉ ϣϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ
11 But now I have written to you, not to associate with him, if any one, that is called a brother, be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or rapacious; with such a one no not to eat.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲥϩⲁⲓ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲧⲱϩ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲡⲟⲣⲛⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥϣⲙϣⲉ ⲉⲓⲇⲱⲗⲟⲛ ⲏ ⲙⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲥⲁϩⲟⲩ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥϯϩⲉ ⲏ ⲛⲣⲉϥⲧⲱⲣⲡ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓⲙⲓ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ
12 For what have I to do to judge those that are without? and do not ye judge those that are within?
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲓⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲓϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲓ ϩⲟⲩⲛ
13 But those who are without, God judgeth: and therefore put away the wicked one from among you.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲓⲃⲟⲗ ϥⲓ ⲙⲡⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
