1 Corinthians 10

1 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

பிரியமானவர்களே, நமது முற்பிதாக்கள் அனைவரையும் இறைவன் வனாந்திரத்தில் தம் மேகத்தின்கீழ் வழிநடத்தினார். அவர்கள் அனைவருமே செங்கடலைக் கடந்து சென்றார்கள். இந்த உண்மையை நீங்கள் அறியாதிருப்பதை நான் விரும்பவில்லை.

2 and were all baptized into Moses by the cloud and by the sea;

அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் மேகத்திலும், கடலிலும், மோசேக்குள் திருமுழுக்குப் பெற்றார்கள்.

3 and did all eat the same spiritual food;

அவர்கள் அனைவரும் இறைவனால் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரே உணவைச் சாப்பிட்டார்கள்.

4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of the spiritual rock that followed them: and that rock was an emblem of Christ.

இறைவனால் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட ஒரே பானத்தைக் குடித்தார்கள்; அவர்களுடன்கூடச் சென்ற அந்த ஆவிக்குரிய கற்பாறை கொடுத்த தண்ணீரைக் குடித்தார்கள். அந்தக் கற்பாறை கிறிஸ்துவே.

5 But with the greater part of them God was displeased: for they were destroyed in the wilderness.

அப்படியிருந்தும், இறைவன் அவர்களில் அதிகமானவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமாயிருக்கவில்லை; இதனால், அவர்களுடைய உடல்கள் வனாந்திரத்தில் சிதறடிக்கப்பட்டன.

6 Now these things were examples for us, that we might not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

அவர்கள் தீமையான காரியங்களின்மேல் தங்கள் இருதயங்களில் நாட்டம் கொண்டதுபோல நாமும் இராதபடி, இவை நமக்கு ஒரு எச்சரிக்கையின் எடுத்துக்காட்டாய் இருக்கிறது.

7 And be ye not idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play."

அவர்களில் சிலர் விக்கிரக வழிபாட்டுக்காரர்களாக இருந்ததுபோல, நீங்களும் இருக்கவேண்டாம்; “மக்கள் சாப்பிடுவதற்கும் குடிப்பதற்கும் உட்கார்ந்தார்கள். பின்பு களியாட்டங்களில் நாட்டங்கொண்டு எழுந்திருந்தார்கள்” என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி,

8 Neither let us commit whoredom, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

அவர்களில் சிலர் செய்ததைப்போல, நீங்களும் முறைகேடான பாலுறவில் ஈடுபடக்கூடாது. இதனால் அவர்களில் இருபத்து மூவாயிரம்பேர் ஒரே நாளில் செத்தார்களே.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted Him, and were destroyed by serpents: nor murmur,

அவர்களில் சிலர் செய்ததுபோல நாம் கிறிஸ்துவைச் சோதிக்கக்கூடாது. இதனால் அவர்கள் பாம்புகளினால் கொல்லப்பட்டார்களே.

10 as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

அவர்களில் சிலர் செய்ததைப்போல நாம் முறுமுறுக்கக் கூடாது. இதனால் அவர்கள் அழிக்கும் தூதனால் கொல்லப்பட்டார்களே.

11 Now all these things happened to them as examples: and are written for our admonition, on whom the last ages are come. (aiōn g165)

மற்றவர்களுக்கு இக்காரியங்கள் எல்லாம் ஒரு எடுத்துக்காட்டாய் இருக்கும்படியே இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு இவை நேரிட்டன. மக்கள் அவற்றை கடைசிக் காலங்கள் நிறைவேறும் நாட்களில் வாழும் நமக்கு எச்சரிப்புண்டாகும்படி, எழுதி வைத்திருக்கின்றனர். (aiōn g165)

12 Wherefore let him, that thinks he standeth, take heed least he fall.

ஆதலால் நீங்கள் உறுதியாய் நிற்கிறதாக எண்ணுவீர்களாயின், நீங்கள் விழுந்துவிடாதபடி கவனமாயிருங்கள்.

13 No temptation has yet taken you but what is common to man: and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able to sustain; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

உங்களுக்கு நேரிட்ட சோதனைகள் பொதுவாக மனிதனுக்கு நேரிடுகிறவைகளே. இறைவன் உங்களுக்கு உண்மையுள்ளவராயிருக்கிறார்; ஆகவே உங்களால் தாங்கமுடியாத அளவுக்கு நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குள்ளாக அவர் இடங்கொடுக்கமாட்டார். ஆயினும் நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குட்படும்போது, நீங்கள் அதிலிருந்து தப்பித்துக் கொள்ளக்கூடிய ஒரு வழியையும் அவர் ஏற்படுத்தித் தருவார். அதனால், உங்களுக்கு அதைத் தாங்கிக்கொள்ளக் கூடியதாயிருக்கும்.

14 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, flee from idolatry.

ஆகையால் என் அன்பான நண்பர்களே, விக்கிரக வழிபாட்டை விட்டு விலகி ஓடுங்கள்.

15 I speak to you as to men of understanding: and judge ye what I say,

நான் அறிவாற்றலுள்ள மக்களுடனே பேசுகிறேன்; நான் சொல்வதை நீங்களே நிதானித்துப் பாருங்கள்.

16 ---The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? the bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

நாம் ஆசீர்வாதத்தின் பாத்திரத்திற்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகின்றபோது, கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்தில் பங்குகொள்கிறோம் அல்லவா? அப்பத்தைப் பிட்கும்போது, கிறிஸ்துவின் உடலில் பங்குகொள்கிறோம் அல்லவா?

17 For the bread is one, and we though many are one body; for we all partake of that one bread.

ஏனெனில், ஒரே அப்பம் இருப்பதனால், நாம் பலராய் இருந்தாலும், ஒரு உடலாகிறோம். நாமெல்லோரும், ஒரே அப்பத்தில் பங்குகொள்கிறோமே.

18 Consider Israel according to the flesh, Are not they, that eat of the sacrifices, partakers of the altar?

இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களைக் கவனித்துப் பாருங்கள்: பலியாகச் செலுத்தப்பட்டதைச் சாப்பிடுகிறவர்கள் பலிபீடத்தின் பணியில் பங்குகொள்கிறார்கள் அல்லவா?

19 What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that what is sacrificed to an idol is in itself any thing to stumble at?

அப்படியானால், விக்கிரகத்துக்குச் செலுத்தப்பட்ட பலியை ஒரு பொருட்டாகவோ, அல்லது விக்கிரகத்தையே ஒரு பொருட்டாகவோ நான் கருதுகிறேனா?

20 No: but this I say, that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God.

இல்லையே, அஞ்ஞானிகளின் பலிகள் இறைவனுக்கல்ல, பிசாசுகளுக்கே பலியிடப்படுகின்றன. அதனால், நீங்கள் பிசாசுகளுடன் பங்காளிகளாய் இருப்பதை நான் விரும்பவில்லை.

21 And I would not have you partakers with demons. Ye cannot drink of the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.

கர்த்தருடைய பாத்திரத்திலிருந்தும், பிசாசுகளுடைய பாத்திரத்திலிருந்தும் நீங்கள் குடிக்க முடியாது; கர்த்தரின் பந்தியும், பிசாசுகளின் பந்தியும் ஆகிய இரண்டிலும் நீங்கள் பங்குள்ளவர்கள் ஆகமுடியாது.

22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than He?

இவ்வாறு, நாம் கர்த்தருக்கு எரிச்சலூட்ட முயலுகிறோமா? நாம் அவரைவிடப் பலமுள்ளவர்களா?

23 If all things be lawful for me, yet all things are not expedient: all things may be lawful for me, but all things do not edify.

“எல்லாவற்றையும் அனுபவிக்க உரிமையுண்டு” என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது. ஆனால் எல்லாமே பயனுள்ளதாயிராது. “எல்லாவற்றையும் அனுபவிக்க உரிமையுண்டு.” ஆனால், எல்லாம் வளர்ச்சியடைவதற்கு உகந்தவையல்ல.

24 Let no one seek his own only, but every one another's benefit.

ஒருவனும் தனது நலனை மட்டுமே தேடக்கூடாது; மற்றவர்களது நலனையும் தேடவேண்டும்.

25 Eat then whatever is sold in the shambles, asking no questions for conscience sake:

இறைச்சிக் கடையில் விற்கும் எதையும் மனசாட்சியின் நிமித்தம் எவ்வித கேள்வியும் கேட்காமல் நீங்கள் வாங்கி சாப்பிடலாம்.

26 for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

ஏனெனில், “பூமியும் அதிலிருக்கும் ஒவ்வொன்றும் கர்த்தருடையவை.”

27 and if any of the unbelievers invite you to an entertainment, and ye have a mind to go, whatever is set before you, eat, asking no questions for conscience-sake.

அவிசுவாசியொருவன் உங்களை சாப்பாட்டிற்கு அழைக்கும்போது, அங்கு நீங்கள் போக விரும்பினால், உங்கள் முன்னால் வைக்கப்படுகிறதை மனசாட்சியின் நிமித்தம், எவ்வித கேள்விகளையும் கேட்காமல் வாங்கி சாப்பிடுங்கள்.

28 But if any one say to you, This hath been sacrificed to an idol, ---eat it not; for his sake who informed thee, and for conscience-sake: for, as I said, the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof, so that thou mayst have food enough without it.

ஆனால் ஒருவன் உங்களுக்கு, “இது பலியிடப்பட்டது” என்று சொன்னால், அவனுக்காகவும், மனசாட்சியின் நிமித்தமும் அதைச் சாப்பிடவேண்டாம்.

29 Conscience I say, not thy own, but the other's; for why is my liberty to be judged by another man's conscience?

நான் குறிப்பிடுவது உங்களுடைய மனசாட்சியை அல்ல, மற்றவனுடைய மனசாட்சியையே குறிப்பிடுகிறேன். ஏனெனில் எனது சுதந்திரம், ஏன் இன்னொருவனது மனசாட்சியின் தீர்ப்புக்கு உள்ளாக வேண்டும்?

30 And if I partake with thankfulness, why am I blamed for that, for which I give thanks?

இறைவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்தியே நான் உணவைச் சாப்பிடுகிறேன். அப்படியானால் நான் நன்றி செலுத்தியதைக்குறித்து, ஏன் யாராவது என்னைக் குற்றப்படுத்தவேண்டும்?

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

ஆகவே நீங்கள் சாப்பிட்டாலும், குடித்தாலும் வேறு எதைச் செய்தாலும், அவையனைத்தையும் இறைவனுடைய மகிமைக்காகவே செய்யுங்கள்.

32 Behave inoffensively both to the Jews, and to the Greeks, and to the church of God.

யாருக்குமே இடறலை ஏற்படுத்தக் காரணமாயிராதேயுங்கள். நீங்கள் யூதர்களுக்கோ, கிரேக்கர்களுக்கோ இறைவனுடைய திருச்சபைக்கோ, இடையூறாய் இருக்காதீர்கள்.

33 Even as I also endeavour to please all men in all things, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

அவ்வாறே நானும், எல்லாவற்றிலும், ஒவ்வொருவரையும் பிரியப்படுத்தவே முயற்சிக்கிறேன். நான் என்னுடைய நன்மையைத் தேடுகிறவனாயிராமல், பலர் இரட்சிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக, அநேகருடைய நன்மையையேத் தேடுகிறேன்.
