< Psalms 20 >

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,
INkosi ikuphendule osukwini lokuhlupheka; ibizo likaNkulunkulu kaJakobe likuvikele.
2 send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,
Kayikuthumele usizo oluvela endaweni engcwele, ikusekele iseZiyoni.
3 remember all your offerings, and accept your burned sacrifice. (Selah)
Kayikhumbule yonke iminikelo yakho, njalo yemukele umnikelo wakho wokutshiswa. (Sela)
4 May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel.
Ikunike njengokwenhliziyo yakho, njalo igcwalise icebo lakho lonke.
5 We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the LORD grant all your requests.
Simemeze ngentokozo esindisweni lwakho, lebizweni likaNkulunkulu wethu siphakamise iziboniso! INkosi igcwalise konke ukucela kwakho.
6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.
Sengisazi ukuthi iNkosi isindisa ogcotshiweyo wayo; izamphendula isemazulwini ayo angcwele ngamandla asindisayo esandla sayo sokunene.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
Abanye bathembela enqoleni, labanye emabhizeni, kodwa thina sizakhumbula ibizo leNkosi uNkulunkulu wethu.
8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.
Bona bakhothanyisiwe bawa, kodwa thina sisukumile simi.
9 Save, LORD! Let the King answer us when we call!
Jehova, sindisa; inkosi isiphendule osukwini lokukhala kwethu.
