Psalms 118
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
Rendez hommage au Seigneur, car il est bon, car sa grâce est éternelle.
2 Let Israel now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
Qu’ainsi donc dise Israël, car sa grâce est éternelle;
3 Let the house of Aaron now say that his loving kindness endures forever.
qu’ainsi dise la maison d’Aaron, car sa grâce est éternelle;
4 Now let those who fear the LORD say that his loving kindness endures forever.
qu’ainsi disent ceux qui révèrent le Seigneur, car sa grâce est éternelle.
5 Out of my distress, I called on the LORD. The LORD answered me with freedom.
Du fond de ma détresse j’ai invoqué l’Eternel: il m’a répondu en me mettant au large.
6 The LORD is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
L’Eternel est avec moi, je ne crains rien: les hommes, que pourraient-ils contre moi?
7 The LORD is on my side among those who help me. Therefore I will look in triumph at those who hate me.
L’Eternel est pour moi, avec ceux qui m’assistent; aussi me repaîtrai-je de la vue de mes haïsseurs.
8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD, than to put confidence in man.
Mieux vaut s’abriter en l’Eternel que de mettre sa confiance dans les hommes.
9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD, than to put confidence in princes.
Mieux vaut s’abriter en l’Eternel que de mettre sa confiance dans les grands.
10 All the nations surrounded me, but in the LORD’s name I cut them off.
Que tous les peuples m’enveloppent: au nom du Seigneur, je les taille en pièces.
11 They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. In the LORD’s name I indeed cut them off.
Qu’ils m’entourent, qu’ils me cernent de toutes parts: au nom du Seigneur, je les taille en pièces.
12 They surrounded me like bees. They are quenched like the burning thorns. In the LORD’s name I cut them off.
Qu’ils m’entourent comme des abeilles, soient brûlants comme un feu de broussailles: au nom du Seigneur, je les taille en pièces.
13 You pushed me back hard, to make me fall, but the LORD helped me.
On m’a violemment poussé pour me faire tomber, mais l’Eternel m’a prêté assistance.
14 The LORD is my strength and song. He has become my salvation [yeshu`ah].
Il est ma force et ma gloire, l’Eternel il a été un sauveur pour moi.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation [yeshu`ah] is in the tents of the righteous. “The right hand of the LORD does valiantly.
Le son des chants de joie et de salut retentit dans les tentes des justes: la droite de l’Eternel procure la victoire.
16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted! The right hand of the LORD does valiantly!”
La droite de l’Eternel est sublime: la droite de l’Eternel procure la victoire.
17 I will not die, but live, and declare the LORD’s works.
Je ne mourrai point, mais je vivrai, pour proclamer les œuvres du Seigneur.
18 The LORD has punished me severely, but he has not given me over to death.
Dieu m’avait durement éprouvé, mais il ne m’a point livré en proie à la mort.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness. I will enter into them. I will give thanks to the LORD.
Ouvrez-moi les portes du salut, je veux les franchir, rendre hommage au Seigneur.
20 This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous will enter into it.
Voici la porte de l’Eternel, les justes la franchiront!
21 I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me, and have become my salvation [yeshu`ah].
Je te rends grâce pour m’avoir exaucé, tu as été mon sauveur.
22 The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
La pierre qu’ont dédaignée les architectes, elle est devenue la plus précieuse des pierres d’angle.
23 This is the LORD’s doing. It is marvelous in our eyes.
C’Est l’Eternel qui l’a voulu ainsi, cela paraît merveilleux à nos yeux.
24 This is the day that the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it!
Ce jour, le Seigneur l’a préparé, consacrons-le par notre joie, par notre allégresse.
25 Save us now, we beg you, LORD! LORD, we beg you, send prosperity now.
De grâce, Eternel, secours-nous; de grâce, Eternel, donne-nous le succès.
26 Blessed is he who comes in the LORD’s name! We have blessed you out of the LORD’s house.
Béni soit celui qui vient au nom de l’Eternel! nous vous saluons du fond de la maison de l’Eternel.
27 The LORD is God, and he has given us light. Bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.
L’Eternel est le Dieu tout-puissant, il nous éclaire de sa lumière. Attachez la victime par des liens tout contre les angles de l’autel.
28 You are my God, and I will give thanks to you. You are my God, I will exalt you.
Tu es mon Dieu, je te rends hommage, mon Dieu, je veux t’exalter.
29 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
Rendez hommage au Seigneur, car il est bon, car sa grâce dure éternellement.
