Luke 12
1 Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Als sich indessen viele Tausende vom Volk versammelt hatten, so daß sie einander zertraten, fing er an zu seinen Jüngern zu sagen: Vor allem hütet euch vor dem Sauerteig der Pharisäer, welcher ist Heuchelei.
2 But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
Nichts ist verhüllt, was nicht enthüllt wird, noch verborgen, was man nicht wissen wird.
3 Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
Darum was ihr in der Finsternis saget, das wird man im Lichte hören; und was ihr ins Ohr redet in den Kammern, das wird auf den Dächern verkündigt werden.
4 “I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
Ich sage aber euch, meinen Freunden: Fürchtet euch nicht vor denen, die den Leib töten, und darnach nichts mehr tun können.
5 But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehinnom. Yes, I tell you, fear him. (Geenna g1067)
Ich will euch aber zeigen, wen ihr fürchten sollt: Fürchtet den, der, nachdem er getötet, Macht hat ins Tal Hinnom zu werfen! Ja ich sage euch, den (d. h. den Messias) fürchtet. (Geenna g1067)
6 “Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins? Not one of them is forgotten by God.
Verkauft man nicht fünf Sperlinge um zwei Pfennige? und doch ist nicht einer von ihnen vergessen vor Gott.
7 But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
Aber auch die Haare eures Hauptes sind alle gezählt; so fürchtet euch denn nicht, ihr seid mehr, als viele Sperlinge.
8 “I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;
Ich sage euch aber: Jeder, der mich bekannt hat vor den Menschen, den wird auch der Menschensohn bekennen vor den Engeln Gottes.
9 but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.
Wer mich aber verleugnet hat vor den Menschen, der wird verleugnet werden vor den Engeln Gottes.
10 Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
Und jeder, der ein Wort reden wird gegen den Menschensohn, dem wird es vergeben werden, dem aber, der wider den heiligen Geist lästert, wird nicht vergeben werden.
11 When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;
Wenn sie euch aber vor die Synagogen und die Obrigkeiten und die Gewalten führen werden, so sorget nicht, wie oder was ihr antworten, oder was ihr sagen sollt.
12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”
Denn der heilige Geist wird euch in derselbigen Stunde lehren, was ihr sagen müßt.
13 One of the multitude said to him, “Rabbi, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”
Es sagte aber jemand aus dem Volkshaufen zu ihm: Lehrer, sage meinem Bruder, daß er das Erbe mit mir teile.
14 But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”
Er aber sprach zu ihm: Mensch, wer hat mich zum Richter, oder Erbverteiler über euch gesetzt?
15 He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Sehet zu, und hütet euch vor dem Geiz; denn niemand lebt von seinen Gütern, ob er gleich Überfluß hat.
16 He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.
Er sagte aber ein Gleichnis zu ihnen, und sprach: Eines reichen Mannes Feld hatte wohl getragen.
17 He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’
Und er überlegte bei sich selbst, und sprach: Was soll ich machen, denn ich habe nicht, da ich meine Früchte hinsammle.
18 He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
Und er sprach: Das will ich tun: ich will meine Scheune abbrechen, und größere bauen, und will darein sammeln alles, was mir gewachsen ist, und meine Güter,
19 I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.”’
Und ich will sagen zu meiner Seele: Seele, du hast viele Güter daliegen für viele Jahre; sei ruhig, iß, trink, und sei fröhlich!
20 “But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’
Gott aber sprach zu ihm: Unsinniger! in dieser Nacht wird man deine Seele vor dir fordern; und wess´ wird dann sein, was du bereitet hast?
21 So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Also ist, der sich Schätze sammelt, und ist nicht reich in Gott.
22 He said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, nor yet for your body, what you will wear.
Er sprach aber zu seinen Jüngern: Darum sage ich euch: Sorget nicht für eure Seele, was ihr essen sollt; auch nicht für euren Leib, was ihr anziehen sollt.
23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.
Die Seele ist mehr, als die Speise, und der Leib mehr, als der Anzug.
24 Consider the ravens: they don’t sow, they don’t reap, they have no warehouse or barn, and God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds!
Betrachtet die Raben, wie sie nicht säen, noch ernten, auch haben sie weder Speisekammer, noch Scheune; und Gott nährt sie doch. Wie gar viel mehr seid doch ihr, als die Vögel.
25 Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height?
Wer aber von euch kann mit seinen Sorgen seiner Länge eine einzige Elle zusetzen?
26 If then you aren’t able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest?
Wenn ihr nun auch nicht das Geringste tun könnt, warum sorget ihr für das übrige?
27 Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Betrachtet die Lilien, wie sie wachsen! Sie arbeiten nicht, auch spinnen sie nicht, und doch sage ich euch, daß auch Salomo in all seiner Herrlichkeit nicht bekleidet gewesen ist, als derselben eine.
28 But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith?
Wenn nun Gott das Gras auf dem Felde, das heute steht und morgen in den Ofen geworfen wird, also kleidet, wie viel mehr wird er es euch tun, ihr Kleingläubigen!
29 “Don’t seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious.
Und auch ihr saget nicht, was ihr essen, oder was ihr trinken werdet, und fahret nicht hoch her.
30 For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things.
Denn nach all dem trachten die Völker der Welt; euer Vater aber weiß, daß ihr dess´ bedürfet.
31 But seek God’s Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you.
Doch trachtet nach der Gottesherrschaft, und alles das wird euch dazu gegeben werden.
32 “Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
Fürchte dich nicht, du kleine Herde, denn es ist eures Vaters Wohlgefallen, euch die Königsherrschaft zu geben.
33 Sell what you have and give gifts to the needy. Make for yourselves purses which don’t grow old, a treasure in the heavens that doesn’t fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.
Verkaufet, was ihr habt, und gebet Almosen. Machet euch Beutel, die nicht veralten, einen Schatz, der euch nicht im Stich läßt, in den Himmeln (bei Gott), wo kein Dieb sich naht, auch keine Motte verderbt.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Denn wo euer Schatz ist, da wird auch euer Herz sein.
35 “Let your waist be dressed and your lamps burning.
Eure Lenden sollen umgürtet sein, und eure Leuchten angezündet;
36 Be like men watching for their lord when he returns from the wedding feast, that when he comes and knocks, they may immediately open to him.
Und ihr gleich den Menschen, die auf ihren Herrn warten, wenn er zurückkehrt von der Hochzeit; damit, wann er kommt und anklopft, sie ihm alsbald auftun.
37 Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Most certainly I tell you that he will dress himself, make them recline, and will come and serve them.
Selig sind jene Knechte, welche der Herr, wann er kommt, wachend findet! Wahrlich, ich sage euch, er wird sich aufschürzen, und wird sie zu Tische setzen, und vor ihnen gehen, und ihnen dienen.
38 They will be blessed if he comes in the second or third watch and finds them so.
Und wenn er kommt in der zweiten Wache, und in der dritten Wache kommt, und findet sie also, selig sind jene Knechte!
39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.
Das sollt ihr aber wissen, daß, wenn der Hausherr wüßte, in welcher Stunde der Dieb kommt, so würde er wachen, und nicht in sein Haus einbrechen lassen.
40 Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.”
So seid denn auch ihr bereit, denn der Menschensohn kommt in der Stunde, da ihr es nicht meint.
41 Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?”
Spricht zu ihm Petrus: Herr sagst du dies Gleichnis zu uns, oder auch zu Allen?
42 The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times?
Der Herr aber sprach: Wer ist denn der treue und verständige Haushalter, welchen der Herr über sein Gesinde setzt, daß er ihnen zu rechter Zeit die Lebensmittel gebe?
43 Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes.
Selig ist jener Knecht, welchen sein Herr, wann er kommt, findet also tun.
44 Truly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
Wahrhaftig, ich sage euch: er wird ihn über all seine Güter setzen.
45 But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink and to be drunken,
Wenn aber jener Knecht spräche in seinem Herzen: Es verzieht mein Herr zu kommen, und finge an, die Knechte und Mägde zu schlagen, und zu essen, und zu trinken, und sich voll zu laufen,
46 then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful.
So wird der Herr jenes Knechtes kommen am Tage, an welchem er es nicht vermeint, und zu der Stunde, die er nicht weiß, und wird ihn zerscheitern, und ihm sein Teil mit den Untreuen geben.
47 That servant who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes,
Jener Knecht aber, der seines Herrn Willen weiß, und hat sich nicht bereitet, noch getan nach seinem Willen, der wird viele Streiche leiden;
48 but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.
Der aber nicht weiß und hat getan, das der Schläge wert ist, wird wenige Streiche leiden. Und von jedem, dem viel gegeben wird, wird man viel fordern, und wem viel anvertraut ist, von dem wird man umsomehr verlangen.
49 “I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.
Ich bin gekommen, Feuer auf die Erde zu werfen, und was möchte ich? Ach daß es schon angezündet wäre!
50 But I have a immersion to be immersed with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!
Aber ich muß mich taufen lassen, mit einer Taufe, und wie bange ist mir, bis sie vollbracht ist!
51 Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.
Meinet ihr, daß ich gekommen bin, Frieden zu bringen auf Erden? Nein, sage ich euch, sondern Entzweiung.
52 For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
Denn es werden, von nun an, fünf in einem Hause entzweit sein, drei wider zwei, und zwei wider drei.
53 They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”
Es wird entzweit sein der Vater wider den Sohn, und der Sohn wider den Vater; die Mutter wider die Tochter, und die Tochter wider die Mutter; die Schwieger wider ihre Schnur, und die Schnur wider ihre Schwieger.
54 He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.
Er sagte aber auch zu den Volkshaufen: Wenn ihr eine Wolke aufgehen sehet vom Abend, so saget ihr alsbald: Es kommt Regen; und es geschieht also.
55 When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.
Und wenn Südwind weht, so saget ihr: Es wird eine Hitze geben; Und es geschieht.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?
Heuchler! das Aussehen der Erde und des Himmels wisset ihr zu beurteilen; wie beurteilet ihr aber diese Zeit nicht?
57 “Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
Warum richtet ihr aber nicht von selbst, was recht ist?
58 For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
Denn wenn du hingehst mit deinem Widersacher vor die Obrigkeit, so tue Fleiß auf dem Wege von ihm loszukommen, damit er dich nicht hinschleppe vor den Richter, und der Richter übergebe dich dem Stockmeister, und der Stockmeister werfe dich ins Gefängnis.
59 I tell you, you will by no means get out of there until you have paid the very last penny.”
Ich sage dir, du wirst nicht von dannen herauskommen, bis du auch den letzten Heller bezahlt hast.
