< Joshua 23 >
1 After many days, when the LORD had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years,
Lẹ́yìn ọjọ́ pípẹ́, nígbà tí Olúwa sì ti fún Israẹli ní ìsinmi kúrò ní ọwọ́ àwọn ọ̀tá wọn tí ó yí wọn ká, nígbà náà Joṣua sì ti di arúgbó.
2 Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old and well advanced in years.
Ó sì pe gbogbo Israẹli jọ: àgbàgbà wọn, olórí wọn, adájọ́ àti àwọn ìjòyè, ó sì sọ fún wọn pé, “Èmi ti pọ̀ ní ọdún èmi ti di arúgbó.
3 You have seen all that the LORD your God has done to all these nations because of you; for it is the LORD your God who has fought for you.
Ẹ̀yin tìkára yín sì ti rí ohun gbogbo tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ti ṣe sí gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè wọ̀nyí nítorí yín, Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ni ó jà fún yín.
4 Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun.
Ẹ rántí bí mo ṣe pín ogún ìní fún àwọn ẹ̀yà yín ní ilẹ̀ orílẹ̀-èdè gbogbo tí ó kù; àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí mo ti ṣẹ́gun ní àárín Jordani àti Òkun Ńlá ní ìwọ̀-oòrùn.
5 The LORD your God will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as the LORD your God spoke to you.
Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín fúnra rẹ̀ yóò lé wọn jáde kúrò ní ọ̀nà yín, yóò sì tì wọ́n jáde ní iwájú yín, ẹ̀yin yóò sì gba ilẹ̀ ìní wọn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí Olúwa Ọlọ́run ti ṣe ìlérí fún yín.
6 “Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the scroll of the Torah of Moses, that you not turn away from it to the right hand or to the left;
“Ẹ jẹ́ alágbára gidigidi, kí ẹ sì ṣọ́ra láti ṣe ìgbọ́ràn sí ohun tí a kọ sí inú ìwé òfin Mose, láìyí padà sí ọ̀tún tàbí sí òsì.
7 that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them;
Ẹ má ṣe ní àjọṣepọ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó ṣẹ́kù láàrín yín; ẹ má ṣe pe orúkọ òrìṣà wọn tàbí kí ẹ fi wọ́n búra. Ẹ kò gbọdọ̀ sìn wọ́n tàbí ki ẹ tẹríba fún wọn.
8 but hold fast to the LORD your God, as you have done to this day.
Ṣùgbọ́n ẹ di Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín mú ṣinṣin gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹ ti ń ṣe tẹ́lẹ̀ títí di àkókò yìí.
9 “For the LORD has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day.
“Olúwa ti lé àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ńlá àti alágbára kúrò níwájú yín; títí di òní yìí kò sí ẹnìkan tí ó le dojúkọ yín.
10 One man of you shall chase a thousand; for it is the LORD your God who fights for you, as he spoke to you.
Ọ̀kan nínú yín lé ẹgbẹ̀rún ọ̀tá, nítorí tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín jà fún yín gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe ìlérí.
11 Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love the LORD your God.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ ṣọ́ra gidigidi láti fẹ́ràn Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín.
12 “But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;
“Ṣùgbọ́n bí ẹ bá yí padà, tí ẹ sì gba ìmọ̀ pọ̀ pẹ̀lú àwọn tó ṣẹ́kù lára àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè tí ó kù láàrín yín, tí ẹ sì ń fọmọ fún ara yín ní ìyàwó, tí ẹ sì bá wọn ní àjọṣepọ̀.
13 know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you.
Nígbà náà ni ẹ ó mọ̀ dájú pé Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín kì yóò lé àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè wọ̀nyí jáde mọ́ kúrò níwájú yín. Dípò èyí, wọn yóò jẹ́ ìkẹ́kùn àti tàkúté fún un yín, pàṣán ní ẹ̀yin yín àti ẹ̀gún ní ojú yín, títí ẹ ó fi ṣègbé kúrò ní ilẹ̀ dáradára yí, èyí tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ti fi fún yín.
14 “Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.
“Nísinsin yìí èmi ti fẹ́ máa lọ sí ibi tí àwọn àgbà ń rè. Ẹ mọ̀ pẹ̀lú gbogbo ọkàn yín àti àyà yín pé, kò sí ohun kan tí ó kùnà nínú àwọn ìlérí rere gbogbo tí Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín fi fún un yín. Gbogbo ìlérí tó ti ṣe kò sí ọ̀kan tí ó kùnà.
15 It shall happen that as all the good things have come on you of which the LORD your God spoke to you, so the LORD will bring on you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you,
Ṣùgbọ́n gẹ́gẹ́ bí ìlérí dáradára gbogbo ti Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín ti wá sí ìmúṣẹ, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa yóò mú ibi gbogbo tí ó ti kìlọ̀ wá sí orí yín, títí yóò fi pa yín run kúrò ní ilẹ̀ dáradára tí ó ti fi fún un yín.
16 when you disobey the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them. Then the LORD’s anger will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.”
Bí ẹ bá sẹ̀ sí májẹ̀mú Olúwa Ọlọ́run yín, èyí tí ó pàṣẹ fún un yín, tí ẹ bá sì lọ tí ẹ sì sin àwọn òrìṣà tí ẹ sì tẹ orí ba fún wọn, ìbínú gbígbóná Olúwa yóò wá sórí i yín, ẹ̀yin yóò sì ṣègbé kíákíá kúrò ní ilẹ̀ dáradára tí ó ti fi fún un yín.”
