Joel 3
1 “For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
Car voici, en ces jours-là et en ce temps-là auquel je ferai retourner ceux qui auront été emmenés captifs de Juda et de Jérusalem,
2 I will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will execute judgment on them there for my people, and for my heritage, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. They have divided my land,
J'assemblerai toutes les nations, et les ferai descendre en la vallée de Josaphat, et là j'entrerai en jugement avec eux, à cause de mon peuple, et de mon héritage d'Israël, lequel ils ont dispersé parmi les nations, et parce qu'ils ont partagé entre eux mon pays;
3 and have cast lots for my people, and have given a boy for a prostitute, and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.
Et qu'ils ont jeté le sort sur mon peuple; et qu'ils ont donné un enfant pour une prostituée, et ont vendu la jeune fille pour du vin, qu'ils ont bu.
4 “Yes, and what are you to me, Tyre and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Will you repay me? And if you repay me, I will swiftly and speedily return your repayment on your own head.
Et qu'ai-je aussi affaire de vous, Tyr et Sidon, et de vous, toutes les limites de la Palestine, me rendrez-vous ma récompense, ou me voulez-vous irriter? Je vous rendrai promptement et sans délai votre récompense sur votre tête.
5 Because you have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried my finest treasures into your temples,
Car vous avez pris mon argent et mon or, et avez emporté dans vos temples mes choses les plus précieuses, et les meilleures.
6 and have sold the children of Judah and the children of Jerusalem to the sons of the Greeks, that you may remove them far from their border.
Et vous avez vendu les enfants de Juda, et les enfants de Jérusalem aux enfants des Grecs, afin de les éloigner de leur contrée.
7 Behold, I will stir them up out of the place where you have sold them, and will return your repayment on your own head;
Voici, je les ferai lever du lieu auquel [ils ont été transportés après que] vous les avez vendus; et je ferai retourner votre récompense sur votre tête.
8 and I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hands of the children of Judah, and they will sell them to the men of Sheba, to a faraway nation, for the LORD has spoken it.”
Je vendrai donc vos fils et vos filles entre les mains des enfants de Juda, et ils les vendront à ceux de Séba, [qui les transporteront] vers une nation éloignée; car l'Eternel a parlé.
9 Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Stir up the mighty men. Let all the warriors draw near. Let them come up.
Publiez ceci parmi les nations: Préparez la guerre; réveillez les hommes forts, que tous les gens de guerre s'approchent, et qu'ils montent.
10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’
Forgez des épées de vos hoyaux, et des javelines de vos serpes; et que le faible dise: Je suis fort.
11 Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations, and gather yourselves together.” Cause your mighty ones to come down there, LORD.
Amassez-vous, et venez, toutes nations d'alentour, et soyez assemblées; l'Eternel abattra là tes hommes forts.
12 “Let the nations arouse themselves, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.
Que les nations se réveillent, et qu'elles montent à la vallée de Josaphat; car je serai assis là pour juger toutes les nations d'alentour.
13 Put in the sickle; for the harvest is ripe. Come, tread, for the wine press is full, the vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.”
Mettez la faucille, car la moisson est mûre; venez, et descendez, car le pressoir est plein: les cuves regorgent, car leur malice est grande.
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.
Peuples, peuples, à la vallée de décision; car la journée de l'Eternel est proche dans la vallée de décision.
15 The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.
Le soleil et la lune ont été obscurcis, et les étoiles ont retiré leur lueur.
16 The LORD will roar from Zion, and thunder from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth will shake; but the LORD will be a refuge to his people, and a stronghold to the children of Israel.
Et l'Eternel rugira de Sion, et fera ouïr sa voix de Jérusalem, et les Cieux et la terre seront ébranlés, et l'Eternel [sera] un asile à son peuple, et la force des enfants d'Israël.
17 “So you will know that I am the LORD, your God, dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no strangers will pass through her any more.
Et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel votre Dieu, qui habite en Sion, la montagne de ma sainteté; et Jérusalem ne sera que sainteté, et les étrangers n'y passeront plus.
18 It will happen in that day, that the mountains will drop down sweet wine, the hills will flow with milk, all the brooks of Judah will flow with waters; and a fountain will flow out from the LORD’s house, and will water the valley of Shittim.
Et il arrivera en ce jour-là que les montagnes distilleront le moût, et que les coteaux se fondront en lait, les eaux courront dans tous les ruisseaux de Juda, et il sortira une fontaine de la maison de l'Eternel, et elle arrosera la vallée de Sittim.
19 Egypt will be a desolation and Edom will be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
L'Egypte sera en désolation, et l'Idumée en désert de désolation, à cause de la violence faite aux enfants de Juda, desquels ils ont répandu le sang innocent dans leur pays.
20 But Judah will be inhabited forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
Mais la Judée sera habitée éternellement, et Jérusalem d'âge en âge.
21 I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed, for the LORD dwells in Zion.”
Et je nettoierai leur sang que je n'avais point nettoyé; car l'Eternel habite en Sion.
