< Jeremiah 44 >

1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,
Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa tọ Jeremiah wá nípa àwọn Júù tí ń gbé ní ìsàlẹ̀ Ejibiti ní Migdoli, Tafanesi àti Memfisi àti ní apá òkè Ejibiti:
2 “The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah. Behold, today they are a desolation, and no man dwells in them,
“Èyí ni ohun tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí: Wo ibi tí mo mú bá Jerusalẹmu àti gbogbo ìlú Juda. Lónìí, wọ́n wà ní ìyapa àti ìparun.
3 because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, to serve other gods that they didn’t know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.
Nítorí pé ibi tí wọ́n ti ṣe. Wọ́n mú mi bínú nípa tùràrí fínfín àti nípa bíbọ àwọn òrìṣà, yálà èyí tí ìwọ tàbí àwọn baba rẹ kò mọ̀.
4 However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, “Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.”
Ní ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ ìgbà ní mo rán wòlíì mi, èyí tí ó wí báyìí pé, ‘Má ṣe àwọn ohun ìríra yìí tí èmi kórìíra.’
5 But they didn’t listen and didn’t incline their ear. They didn’t turn from their wickedness, to stop burning incense to other gods.
Ṣùgbọ́n wọn kò fetísílẹ̀ láti fi ọkàn si. Wọn kò sì yípadà kúrò nínú búburú wọn tàbí dáwọ́ ẹbọ sísun sí àwọn òrìṣà dúró.
6 Therefore my wrath and my anger was poured out, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is today.’
Fún ìdí èyí, ìbínú gbígbóná mi ni èmi yóò yọ sí àwọn ìlú Juda àti òpópó Jerusalẹmu àti sísọ wọ́n di ìparun bí ó ṣe wà lónìí yìí.
7 “Therefore now the LORD, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Why do you commit great evil against your own souls, to cut off from yourselves man and woman, infant and nursing child out of the middle of Judah, to leave yourselves no one remaining,
“Báyìí tún ni Olúwa Ọlọ́run àwọn ọmọ-ogun Israẹli wí, kí ló dé tí ẹ fi ń mu ibi ńlá yìí wá sí orí ara yín nípa yíyapa kúrò lára Juda ọkùnrin àti obìnrin, ọmọdé àti èwe, tí ẹ kò sì ku ọ̀kankan?
8 in that you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to live, that you may be cut off, and that you may be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
Èéṣe tí ẹ fi mú mi bínú pẹ̀lú ohun tí ọwọ́ yín ṣe pẹ̀lú ẹbọ sísun sí àwọn òrìṣà Ejibiti, níbi tí ẹ wá láti máa gbé? Ẹ̀ ò pa ara yín run, ẹ̀ ó sì sọ ara yín di ẹni ìfiré àti ẹ̀gàn láàrín àwọn orílẹ̀-èdè ayé gbogbo.
9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
Ṣé ẹ̀yin ti gbàgbé ibi tí àwọn baba ńlá yín àti àwọn ọba; àwọn ayaba Juda, àti àwọn ibi tí ẹ ti ṣe àti àwọn ìyàwó yín ní ilẹ̀ Juda àti ní òpópó Jerusalẹmu?
10 They are not humbled even to this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.’
Láti ìgbà náà sí àkókò yìí, wọn kò rẹ ara wọn sílẹ̀ tàbí fi ìtẹríba hàn tàbí kí wọn ó tẹ̀lé òfin àti àṣẹ tí mo pa fún un yín àti àwọn baba yín.
11 “Therefore the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, even to cut off all Judah.
“Fún ìdí èyí, báyìí ni Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun, Ọlọ́run àwọn Israẹli wí: Mo ti pinnu láti mú ibi wá sí orí yín àti láti pa Juda run.
12 I will take the remnant of Judah that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to live there, and they will all be consumed. They will fall in the land of Egypt. They will be consumed by the sword and by the famine. They will die, from the least even to the greatest, by the sword and by the famine. They will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach.
Èmi yóò sì mú àwọn èérún tí ó kù ní Juda, tí wọ́n ṣetán láti lọ Ejibiti. Wọn yóò ṣubú pẹ̀lú idà tàbí kí wọn kú pẹ̀lú ìyàn láti orí ọmọdé títí dé àgbà ni wọn yóò kú láti ọwọ́ ìyàn tàbí idà. Wọn yóò di ẹni ìfiré àti ìparun, ẹni ẹ̀kọ̀ àti ẹni ẹ̀gàn.
13 For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;
Èmi yóò fi ìyà jẹ ẹni tí ó bá ń gbé ní Ejibiti pẹ̀lú idà, ìyàn àti àjàkálẹ̀-ààrùn bí mo ṣe fi ìyà jẹ Jerusalẹmu.
14 so that none of the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will escape or be left to return into the land of Judah, to which they have a desire to return to dwell there; for no one will return except those who will escape.’”
Kò sí èyí tí ó kéré jù nínú Juda tí ó kù, tí ó ń gbé ilẹ̀ Ejibiti tí yóò sá àsálà padà sórí ilẹ̀ Juda, èyí tí wọ́n nífẹ̀ẹ́ láti padà sí, àti láti máa gbé; àyàfi àwọn aṣàtìpó mélòó kan.”
15 Then all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, even all the people who lived in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,
Lẹ́yìn èyí, gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin tí ẹ bá mọ̀ pé, ìyàwó wọn sun tùràrí sí àwọn òrìṣà pẹ̀lú àwọn obìnrin tí ó bá wá àwọn ènìyàn púpọ̀, pàápàá àwọn ènìyàn tí wọ́n ń gbé ní òkè àti ìsàlẹ̀ Ejibiti, bẹ́ẹ̀ ni a wí fún Jeremiah.
16 “As for the word that you have spoken to us in the LORD’s name, we will not listen to you.
“Wọn sì wí pé, àwa kò ní fetísílẹ̀ ọ̀rọ̀ tí o bá bá wa sọ ní orúkọ Olúwa.
17 But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.
Dájúdájú, à ó ṣe gbogbo nǹkan tí a sọ pé à ò ṣe. A ó sun tùràrí sí ayaba ọ̀run, à ó sì da ohun mímu sílẹ̀ gẹ́gẹ́ bí ẹbọ sí àwa àti àwọn baba wa, àwọn ọba àti àwọn aláṣẹ ti ṣe ní àwọn ìlú Juda àti ni àwọn ìgboro Jerusalẹmu. Nígbà náà àwa ní oúnjẹ púpọ̀, a sì ṣe rere a kò sì rí ibi.
18 But since we stopped burning incense to the queen of the sky, and pouring out drink offerings to her, we have lacked all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.”
Ṣùgbọ́n láti ìgbà tí a ti dáwọ́ tùràrí sísun sí Ayaba Ọ̀run àti láti da ẹbọ ohun mímu fún un, àwa ti ṣaláìní ohun gbogbo, a sì run nípa idà àti nípa ìyàn.”
19 The women said, “When we burned incense to the queen of the sky and poured out drink offerings to her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings to her, without our husbands?”
Àwọn obìnrin náà fi kún un pé, “Nígbà tí à ń jó tùràrí sí ayaba ọ̀run, tí a sì ń fi ohun mímu rú ẹbọ si; ǹjẹ́ àwọn ọkọ wa kò mọ pé àwa ń ṣe àkàrà bí i, àwòrán rẹ, àti wí pé à ń da ọtí si gẹ́gẹ́ bi ohun ìrúbọ?”
20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people—to the men and to the women, even to all the people who had given him an answer, saying,
Wàyí o, Jeremiah sọ fún àwọn ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn náà, ọkùnrin àti obìnrin, tí wọn sì ń dáhùn pé,
21 “The incense that you burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, didn’t the LORD remember them, and didn’t it come into his mind?
“Ṣe Olúwa kò rántí ẹbọ sísun ní ìlú Juda àti àwọn ìgboro Jerusalẹmu láti ọ̀dọ̀ rẹ àti ọ̀dọ̀ àwọn baba rẹ, àwọn ọba àti àwọn aláṣẹ àti àwọn ènìyàn ìlú.
22 Thus the LORD could no longer bear it, because of the evil of your doings and because of the abominations which you have committed. Therefore your land has become a desolation, an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is today.
Nígbà tí Olúwa kò lè fi ara da ìwà búburú yín àti àwọn nǹkan ìríra gbogbo tí ẹ ṣe, ilẹ̀ yín sì di ohun ìfiré àti ìkọ̀sílẹ̀, láìsí olùgbé gẹ́gẹ́ bí ó ti ṣe wà lónìí.
23 Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the LORD’s voice, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil has happened to you, as it is today.”
Nítorí pé ẹ ti sun ẹbọ, tí ẹ sì ti ṣẹ̀ sí Olúwa àti pé ẹ kò gbọ́rọ̀ sí i lẹ́nu, àti pé ẹ kò sì tẹ̀lé òfin rẹ̀ àti àwọn àṣẹ. Ibi náà yóò wá sórí rẹ àti bí o ṣe rí i.”
24 Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, including all the women, “Hear the LORD’s word, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt!
Nígbà náà ni Jeremiah dáhùn pẹ̀lú obìnrin náà pé, “Gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa, ẹ̀yin ọmọ Juda tí ó wà ní Ejibiti.
25 The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says, ‘You and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and with your hands have fulfilled it, saying, “We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to her.” “‘Establish then your vows, and perform your vows.’
Èyí ni ọ̀rọ̀ tí Olúwa àwọn ọmọ-ogun Ọlọ́run Israẹli wí. Ìwọ àti àwọn ìyàwó rẹ fihàn pẹ̀lú àwọn ìhùwà rẹ àti àwọn ohun tí ó ṣèlérí nígbà tí o wí pé, ‘Àwa yóò mú ẹ̀jẹ́ tí a jẹ́ ṣẹ lórí sísun tùràrí àti dída ẹbọ ohun mímu sí orí ère Ayaba Ọ̀run.’ “Tẹ̀síwájú nígbà náà, ṣe ohun tí o sọ, kí o sì mú ẹ̀jẹ́ rẹ ṣẹ.
26 “Therefore hear the LORD’s word, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I have sworn by my great name,’ says the LORD, ‘that my name will no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “As the Lord GOD lives.”
Ṣùgbọ́n gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa Olódùmarè, gbogbo ẹ̀yin Júù tí ń gbé ilẹ̀ Ejibiti, mo gégùn ún: ‘Mo búra pẹ̀lú títóbi orúkọ mi,’ bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Olúwa wí, ‘pé kò sí ẹnikẹ́ni láti Juda tí ń gbé ibikíbi ní Ejibiti tí ó gbọdọ̀ ké pe orúkọ mi tàbí búra, “Gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọlọ́run tí ó dá wa ti wà láààyè.”
27 Behold, I watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt will be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until they are all gone.
Nítorí náà, èmi ó ṣọ wọ́n fún ibi, kì í ṣe fún rere. Àti gbogbo àwọn ọkùnrin Juda tí ó wà ní ilẹ̀ Ejibiti ni a ó parun pẹ̀lú idà àti ìyàn títí tí gbogbo wọn yóò fi tán.
28 Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah few in number. All the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.
Àwọn tí ó bá sá àsálà kúrò lọ́wọ́ ìparun idà àti pípadà sí ilẹ̀ Juda láti Ejibiti yóò kéré níye. Gbogbo àwọn tí ó bá kú ní ilẹ̀ Juda, tí ó wá gbé ilẹ̀ Ejibiti yóò mọ ọ̀rọ̀ ẹni tí yóò dúró yálà tèmi tàbí tiyín.
29 “‘This will be the sign to you,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’
“‘Èyí ni yóò jẹ́ àmì fún un yín pé èmi yóò fi ìyà jẹ yín níbi tí Olúwa ti sọ láti lè jẹ́ kí ẹ mọ̀ pé ìjìyà mi tí mo sọ pé ẹ̀ ó jẹ yóò ṣẹ.’
30 The LORD says, ‘Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, just as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life.’”
Báyìí ni Olúwa wí: ‘Èmi yóò fi Farao Hofira ọba Ejibiti lé àwọn ọ̀tá rẹ̀ lọ́wọ́, èyí tí ó lè pa ayé rẹ́; gẹ́gẹ́ bí mo ti fi Sedekiah ọba Juda lé Nebukadnessari ọba Babeli lọ́wọ́ ọ̀tá tó ń lépa ẹ̀mí rẹ̀.’”
