Deuteronomy 31
1 Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.
૧મૂસાએ જઈને આ બધી વાતો આખા ઇઝરાયલને કહી.
2 He said to them, “I am one hundred twenty years old today. I can no more go out and come in. The LORD has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’
૨તેણે તેઓને કહ્યું, “હવે હું એકસો વીસ વર્ષનો થયો છું; હું બહાર જઈ શકતો નથી કે અંદર આવી શકતો નથી, યહોવાહે મને કહ્યું કે, ‘તું યર્દન નદી પાર જવા પામશે નહિ.’
3 The LORD your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua will go over before you, as the LORD has spoken.
૩યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વર તારી આગળ પાર જશે; તે તારી આગળથી પ્રજાઓનો નાશ કરશે અને તું તેઓનું વતન પામશે. યહોવાહની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે યહોશુઆ તમારી આગળ જશે.
4 The LORD will do to them as he did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them.
૪અમોરીઓના રાજાઓ સીહોન તથા ઓગ તેઓના દેશ જેમનો યહોવાહે નાશ કર્યો, તેઓને જેમ તેમણે કર્યું તેમ તે તેઓને કરશે.
5 The LORD will deliver them up before you, and you shall do to them according to all the commandment which I have commanded you.
૫અને યહોવાહ તે લોકોને તમારા હાથમાં સુપ્રત કરશે અને તમારે તેમની સાથે મેં તમને આજ્ઞા કરી છે તે મુજબ વર્તવુ.
6 Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them, for the LORD your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.”
૬બળવાન તથા હિંમતવાન થાઓ, બીહો નહિ, તેઓથી ભયભીત ન થાઓ, કેમ કે, જે તમારી સાથે જાય છે તે તો યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વર છે. તે તમને છોડી દેશે નહિ કે તમને તજી દેશે નહિ.”
7 Moses called to Joshua, and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them; and you shall cause them to inherit it.
૭મૂસાએ યહોશુઆને બોલવીને બધા ઇઝરાયલીઓની નજર સમક્ષ તેને કહ્યું, “બળવાન તથા હિંમતવાન થા, કેમ કે જે દેશ યહોવાહ તારા ઈશ્વરે આ લોકોને આપવાનું તારા પિતૃઓ આગળ વચન આપ્યું છે, તેમાં તું તેઓની સાથે જશે. તું તે લોકોને દેશનો વારસો અપાવશે.
8 The LORD himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged.”
૮જે તારી આગળ જાય છે, તે તો યહોવાહ છે; તે તારી સાથે રહેશે, તે તને છોડી દેશે નહિ કે તને તજી દેશે નહિ, માટે તું ગભરાઈશ નહિ કે નાહિંમત થઈશ નહિ.”
9 Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the LORD’s covenant, and to all the elders of Israel.
૯મૂસાએ આ નિયમ લખીને યહોવાહના કરારકોશ ઊંચકનાર લેવી યાજકોને તથા ઇઝરાયલના બધા આગેવાનોને તેની એક એક નકલ આપી.
10 Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, in the set time of the year of release, in the feast of booths,
૧૦મૂસાએ તેઓને આજ્ઞા કરીને કહ્યું, “દર સાતમા વર્ષને અંતે એટલે કે છુટકારાના વર્ષને ઠરાવેલે સમયે, માંડવાપર્વમાં,
11 when all Israel has come to appear before the LORD your God in the place which he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
૧૧જયારે બધા ઇઝરાયલીઓ યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરે પસંદ કરેલા સ્થળે હાજર થાય, ત્યારે બધા ઇઝરાયલની આગળ તેઓના સાંભળતાં તમે આ નિયમ વાંચજો.
12 Assemble the people, the men and the women and the little ones, and the foreigners who are within your gates, that they may hear, learn, fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law,
૧૨લોકોને એટલે પુરુષો, સ્ત્રીઓ અને બાળકો તેમ જ તારી ભાગળમાં વસતા પરદેશીઓને એકત્ર કરજો જેથી તેઓ સાંભળે તથા શીખે અને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરનો ડર રાખે અને આ નિયમોનું કાળજીપૂર્વક પાલન કરે.
13 and that their children, who have not known, may hear and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as you live in the land where you go over the Jordan to possess it.”
૧૩અને તેઓના સંતાનો કે જેઓ જાણતા નથી તેઓ પણ સાંભળી અને જે દેશનું વતન પામવાને તમે યર્દન નદી ઊતરીને ત્યાં જાઓ છો તેમાં, જ્યાં સુધી તમે જીવતા રહો ત્યાં સુધી યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરથી બીતા શીખો.
14 The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, your days approach that you must die. Call Joshua, and present yourselves in the Tent of Meeting, that I may commission him.” Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the Tent of Meeting.
૧૪પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “જો, તારો મૃત્યુનો સમય નજીક આવી રહ્યો છે. યહોશુઆને બોલાવ અને તમે બન્ને મુલાકાતમંડપમાં મારી પાસે આવો, જેથી હું તને મારી આજ્ઞા આપું.” તેથી મૂસા અને યહોશુઆ ગયા અને મુલાકાતમંડપમાં ઉપસ્થિત રહ્યા.
15 The LORD appeared in the Tent in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood over the Tent’s door.
૧૫અને યહોવાહ તંબુની અંદર મેઘસ્તંભમાં દેખાયા; અને તે મેઘસ્તંભ તંબુના દ્વારની સામે સ્થિર રહ્યો.
16 The LORD said to Moses, “Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers. This people will rise up and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land where they go to be among them, and will forsake me and break my covenant which I have made with them.
૧૬યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “જો તું તારા પિતૃઓની સાથે ઊંઘી જશે; અને આ લોકો ઊઠશે અને જે દેશમાં તેઓ વસવા જઈ રહ્યા છે તેમાં જઈ તેઓ અન્ય દેવોની પાછળ ગણિકાવૃતિ કરશે અને મારો ત્યાગ કરશે. અને મારો કરાર જે મેં તેઓની સાથે કર્યો તેનો તેઓ ભંગ કરશે.
17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall come on them; so that they will say in that day, ‘Haven’t these evils come on us because our God is not among us?’
૧૭ત્યારે મારો કોપ તે લોકો પર સળગી ઊઠશે અને હું તેઓને તજી દઈશ તથા તેઓનાથી વિમુખ થઈ જઈશ. અને તેઓ ભક્ષ થઈ પડશે. તેઓના પર અનેક આફતો અને સંકટો ઊતરશે ત્યારે તેઓ કહેશે કે, ‘આપણા ઈશ્વર આપણી વચ્ચે નથી તેથી આ બધાં સંકટો આપણા પર આવી પડ્યાં નથી શું?
18 I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.
૧૮પણ તેઓએ અન્ય દેવોની પાછળ જઈને જે સર્વ દુષ્ટતા કરી હશે તેને કારણે જરૂર હું તેઓનાથી તે દિવસે મારું મુખ સંતાડીશ.
19 “Now therefore write this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.
૧૯હવે આ ગીત તમે પોતાને માટે લખી લો અને તે તમે ઇઝરાયલપુત્રોને શીખવજો, તેઓને તે રટણ કરવા કહો કે જેથી આ ગીત ઇઝરાયલપુત્રોની વિરુદ્ધ મારા માટે સાક્ષીરૂપ થાય.
20 For when I have brought them into the land which I swore to their fathers, flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten and filled themselves, and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods, and serve them, and despise me, and break my covenant.
૨૦કેમ કે જે દૂધમધથી ભરપૂર દેશ વિષે મેં તેઓના પિતૃઓની આગળ સમ ખાધા હતા, તેમાં જ્યારે હું તેઓને લઈ જઈશ ત્યારે તેઓ ખાઈને તથા તૃપ્ત થઈને પુષ્ટ થશે; અને તેઓ અન્ય દેવો તરફ વળી જઈને તેઓની સેવા કરશે અને મને ધિક્કારશે અને મારો કરાર તોડશે.
21 It will happen, when many evils and troubles have come on them, that this song will testify before them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants; for I know their ways and what they are doing today, before I have brought them into the land which I promised them.”
૨૧અને તેઓના પર ભયંકર દુઃખ તથા સંકટ આવી પડે ત્યારે આ ગીત સાક્ષીરૂપે તેઓની આગળ શાહેદી પૂરશે; કેમ કે તે તેઓના વંશજો ભૂલી જશે નહિ. કે અત્યારે પણ, એટલે જે દેશ વિષે મેં સમ ખાધા હતા તેમાં હું તેઓને લાવું. તે પહેલાં તેઓ જે મનસૂબા ઘડે છે તે હું જાણું છું.”
22 So Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.
૨૨તેથી તે જ દિવસે મૂસાએ આ ગીત લખ્યું. અને ઇઝરાયલપુત્રોને તે શીખવ્યું.
23 He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and courageous; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land which I swore to them. I will be with you.”
૨૩પછી યહોવાહે નૂનના પુત્ર યહોશુઆને સોંપણી કરી અને તેને કહ્યું, “બળવાન તથા હિંમતવાન થા; કારણ કે, ઇઝરાયલપુત્રોને મેં જે દેશ આપવાને મેં સમ ખાધા હતા તેમાં તારે એમને લઈ જવાના છે, અને હું તારી સાથે રહીશ.”
24 When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,
૨૪જયારે મૂસાએ આ નિયમોના શબ્દો શરૂથી અંત સુધી પુસ્તકમાં લખવાનું પૂર્ણ કર્યું ત્યારે એમ થયું કે,
25 Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the LORD’s covenant, saying,
૨૫મૂસાએ યહોવાહના કરારકોશને ઊંચકનારા લેવીઓને આજ્ઞા કરી કે,
26 “Take this scroll of the Torah, and put it by the side of the ark of the LORD your God’s covenant, that it may be there for a witness against you.
૨૬“આ નિયમનું પુસ્તક લો અને તેને યહોવાહ તમારા ઈશ્વરના કરારકોશની સાથે રાખો કે, જેથી એ તમારી વિરુદ્ધ સાક્ષી તરીકે ત્યાં રહે.
27 For I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. Behold, while I am yet alive with you today, you have been rebellious against the LORD. How much more after my death?
૨૭કેમ કે હું તમારા જડ ગર્દન અને હઠીલાઈ જાણું છું. જુઓ, હું આજે હજી તો તમારી વચ્ચે જીવતો છું છતાં આજે તમે યહોવાહની આજ્ઞાનું ઉલ્લંઘન કરો છો; તો મારા મૃત્યુ પછી તો તમે શું નહિ કરો?
28 Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to witness against them.
૨૮તમારા કુળોના સર્વ વડીલો અને અમલદારોને મારી આગળ એકત્ર કરો કે, જેથી હું તેઓના સાંભળતાં આ વચનો કહું અને તેઓની વિરુદ્ધ આકાશ તથા પૃથ્વીને સાક્ષી તરીકે રાખું.
29 For I know that after my death you will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn away from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will happen to you in the latter days, because you will do that which is evil in the LORD’s sight, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.”
૨૯મને ખબર છે કે મારા મૃત્યુ પછી તમે દુષ્ટ થશો અને જે માર્ગે મેં તમને ચાલવાનું કહ્યું છે તેમાંથી ભટકી જશો; તેથી ભવિષ્યમાં તમારા પર દુઃખ આવી પડશે. કારણ કે યહોવાહની નજરમાં જે દુષ્ટ છે તે કરીને તમે તમારા હાથનાં કામથી તમે યહોવાહને ક્રોધ ચઢાવશો.”
30 Moses spoke in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, until they were finished.
૩૦પછી મૂસાએ ઇઝરાયલની સમગ્ર સભાને સાંભળતાં એ આખા ગીતનાં વચનો શરૂથી અંત સુધી કહી સંભળાવ્યા.
