< Psalms 60 >
1 For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “The Lily of the Covenant.” A teaching poem by David, when he fought with Aram Naharaim and with Aram Zobah, and Joab returned, and killed twelve thousand of Edom in the Valley of Salt. God, you have rejected us. You have broken us down. You have been angry. Restore us, again.
Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Yeedaloo “Daraaraa kakuu” jedhamuun faarfatame. Miiktaamii Daawit. Barsiisuuf. Yeroo inni Arraam Nahaaraayimii fi Arraam Zoobaa lolee fi yeroo Yooʼaabin deebisee warra Edoomii keessaa namoota kuma kudha lama Sulula soogiddaa keessatti fixetti faarfatame. Yaa Waaqi, ati nu gatteerta; nu caccabsiteertas; nutti aarteerta; amma garuu iddootti nu deebisi!
2 You have made the land tremble. You have torn it. Mend its fractures, for it quakes.
Ati lafa sochoofteerta; tarsaaftees afaan bansiifteerta; caccabaa ishees walitti suphi; isheen raafamteertii.
3 You have shown your people hard things. You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
Ati akka sabni kee waan hamaadhaan dhiphatu gooteerta; daadhii wayinii nu gatantarsus nuu kenniteerta.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear you, that it may be displayed because of the truth. (Selah)
Akka isaan iddaa jalaa gara isaatti baqataniif, ati warra si sodaataniif mallattoo kenniteerta.
5 So that your beloved may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.
Akka warri ati jaallattu furamaniif, harka kee mirgaatiin nu oolchi; nu gargaaris.
6 God has spoken from his sanctuary: “I will triumph. I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Succoth.
Waaqni iddoo qulqullummaa isaatii akkana jedhee dubbateera; “Ani gammachuudhaan Sheekemin gargar nan qooda; Sulula Sukootis nan safara.
7 Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine. Ephraim also is the defence of my head. Judah is my sceptre.
Giliʼaad kan koo ti; Minaaseenis kan koo ti. Efreem gonfoo sibiilaa koo ti; Yihuudaanis bokkuu mootummaa koo ti.
8 Moab is my wash basin. I will throw my sandal on Edom. I shout in triumph over Philistia.”
Moʼaab caabii dhiqannaa koo ti; Edoom irra kophee koo darbadhee nan buusa; Filisxeem irrattis moʼannaadhaan nan geerara.”
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who has led me to Edom?
Eenyutu magaalaa jabeeffamtee ijaaramtetti na fida? Eenyutu Edoomitti na geessa?
10 Haven’t you, God, rejected us? You don’t go out with our armies, God.
Yaa Waaqi, kan nu gatte suma mitii? Yaa Waaqi, kan loltoota keenya wajjin baʼuu diddes suma mitii?
11 Give us help against the adversary, for the help of man is vain.
Diina keenya of irraa dhowwuu nu gargaar; gargaarsi namaa faayidaa hin qabuutii.
12 Through God we will do valiantly, for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
Nu Waaqa wajjin ni moʼanna; innis diinota keenya gad dhidhiita.
