< Psalms 44 >

1 For the Chief Musician. By the sons of Korah. A contemplative psalm. We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
Kwa mtsogoleri wa mayimbidwe. Ndakatulo ya ana a Kora. Ife tamva ndi makutu athu, Inu Mulungu; makolo athu atiwuza zimene munachita mʼmasiku awo, masiku akalekalewo.
2 You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
Ndi dzanja lanu munathamangitsa mitundu ya anthu ena ndi kudzala makolo athu; Inu munakantha mitundu ya anthu, koma makolo athuwo Inu munawapatsa ufulu.
3 For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favourable to them.
Sanalande dziko ndi lupanga lawo, si mkono wawo umene unawabweretsera chigonjetso, koma ndi dzanja lanu lamanja, mkono wanu ndi kuwala kwa nkhope yanu, pakuti munawakonda.
4 God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!
Inu ndinu Mfumu yanga ndi Mulungu wanga amene mumalamulira chigonjetso cha Yakobo.
5 Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
Kudzera kwa inu ife timabweza adani athu; kudzera mʼdzina lanu timapondereza otiwukirawo.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.
Sindidalira uta wanga, lupanga langa silindibweretsera chigonjetso;
7 But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
koma Inu mumatigonjetsera adani athu, mumachititsa manyazi amene amadana nafe.
8 In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. (Selah)
Timanyadira mwa Mulungu wathu tsiku lonse, ndipo tidzatamanda dzina lanu kwamuyaya.
9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonour, and don’t go out with our armies.
Koma tsopano mwatikana ndi kutichepetsa; Inu simupitanso ndi ankhondo athu.
10 You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
Munachititsa ife kubwerera mʼmbuyo pamaso pa mdani ndipo amene amadana nafe atilanda katundu.
11 You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us amongst the nations.
Inu munatipereka kuti tiwonongedwe monga nkhosa ndipo mwatibalalitsa pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina.
12 You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
Inu munagulitsa anthu anu pa mtengo wotsika, osapindulapo kanthu pa malondawo.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbours, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
Mwachititsa kuti tikhale chochititsa manyazi kwa anthu a mitundu ina, chonyozeka ndi chothetsa nzeru kwa iwo amene atizungulira.
14 You make us a byword amongst the nations, a shaking of the head amongst the peoples.
Mwachititsa kuti tikhale onyozeka pakati pa anthu a mitundu ina; anthu amapukusa mitu yawo akationa.
15 All day long my dishonour is before me, and shame covers my face,
Manyazi anga ali pamaso panga tsiku lonse ndipo nkhope yanga yaphimbidwa ndi manyazi
16 at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
chifukwa cha mawu otonza a iwo amene amandinyoza ndi kundichita chipongwe, chifukwa cha mdani amene watsimikiza kubwezera.
17 All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.
Zonsezi zinatichitikira ngakhale kuti ifeyo sitinayiwale Inu kapena kuonetsa kusakhulupirika pa pangano lanu.
18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
Mitima yathu sinabwerere mʼmbuyo; mapazi athu sanatayike pa njira yanu.
19 though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
Koma Inu mwatiphwanya ndi kuchititsa kuti tikhale ozunzidwa ndi ankhandwe ndipo mwatiphimba ndi mdima waukulu.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,
Tikanayiwala dzina la Mulungu wathu kapena kutambasulira manja athu kwa mulungu wachilendo,
21 won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
kodi Mulungu wathu sakanazidziwa zimenezi, pakuti Iye amadziwa zinsinsi zamumtima?
22 Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
Komabe chifukwa cha Inu timakumana ndi imfa tsiku lonse, tili ngati nkhosa zoyenera kuti ziphedwe.
23 Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
Dzukani Ambuye! Nʼchifukwa chiyani mukugona! Dziwutseni nokha! Musatikane kwamuyaya.
24 Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
Nʼchifukwa chiyani mukubisa nkhope yanu, ndi kuyiwala mavuto athu ndi kuponderezedwa kwathu?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
Tatsitsidwa pansi mpaka pa fumbi; matupi athu amatirira pa dothi.
26 Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
Imirirani ndi kutithandiza, tiwomboleni chifukwa cha chikondi chanu chosasinthika.
