< Proverbs 29 >
1 He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
Obi a ɔkɔ so yɛ tufoante wɔ animka pii akyi no wɔbɛsɛe no mpofirim a wɔrennya ano aduru.
2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
Sɛ atreneefo di yiye a, nnipa no di ahurusi; sɛ amumɔyɛfo di nnipa so a, wusi apini.
3 Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
Onipa a ɔdɔ nyansa no ma nʼagya anigye, nanso nguamanfo yɔnko sɛe nʼahonya.
4 The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.
Ɔhene nam atɛntrenee so ma ɔman no asomdwoe, nanso nea ɔde adifudepɛ gye adanmude no bɔ ɔman no.
5 A man who flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet.
Obiara a ɔdaadaa ne yɔnko no sum ne nan afiri.
6 An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.
Ɔdebɔneyɛni bɔne sum no afiri, nanso ɔtreneeni betumi ato dwom ama nʼani agye.
7 The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.
Ahiafo atɛntreneebu ho hia atreneefo, nanso amumɔyɛfo nni saa ɔtema no.
8 Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.
Fɛwdifo de basabasayɛ ba kuropɔn mu, nanso anyansafo sianka abufuw.
9 If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.
Sɛ onyansafo de ɔkwasea kɔ asennii a, ɔkwasea no bobɔ mu kasa di fɛw, na asomdwoe mma.
10 The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.
Mogyapɛfo kyi ɔnokwafo, na wɔhwehwɛ sɛ wobekum nea ɔteɛ.
11 A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.
Ɔkwasea da abufuw nyinaa adi, nanso onyansafo hyɛ ne ho so.
12 If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.
Sɛ ɔsodifo tie nkontomposɛm a, nʼadwumayɛfo nyinaa bɛyɛ amumɔyɛfo.
13 The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.
Ohiani ne ɔsohyɛfo nyinaa wɔ saa ade baako yi: Awurade ma wɔn baanu nyinaa ani a wɔde hu ade.
14 The king who fairly judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.
Sɛ ɔhene di ahiafo asɛm yiye a, nʼahengua betim hɔ daa.
15 The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
Nteɛso abaa ma nyansa, na abofra a wɔde ne pɛ ma no no, gu ne na anim ase.
16 When the wicked increase, sin increases; but the righteous will see their downfall.
Sɛ amumɔyɛfo di yiye a, bɔne nso kɔ so, na atreneefo behu wɔn asehwe.
17 Correct your son, and he will give you peace; yes, he will bring delight to your soul.
Teɛ wo ba, na ɔbɛma wo asomdwoe; ɔbɛma wo kra ani agye.
18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the Torah is blessed.
Sɛ anisoadehu nni hɔ a nnipa no yɛ basaa; na nhyira nka nea odi mmara so.
19 A servant can’t be corrected by words. Though he understands, yet he will not respond.
Wɔmfa anom nsɛm kɛkɛ nteɛ ɔsomfo; ɔte ase de, nanso ɔremfa.
20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Wuhu obi a ɔpɛ ntɛm kasa ana? Ɔkwasea wɔ anidaso sen no.
21 He who pampers his servant from youth will have him become a son in the end.
Sɛ obi kokɔ ne somfo fi ne mmofraase a, awiei no ɔde awerɛhow na ɛbɛba.
22 An angry man stirs up strife, and a wrathful man abounds in sin.
Onipa a ne bo afuw de mpaapaemu ba, na nea ne bo nkyɛ fuw no yɛ bɔne pii.
23 A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honour.
Onipa ahomaso brɛ no ase, nanso nea ɔwɔ ahobrɛase no nya anuonyam.
24 Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.
Nea ɔboa ɔkorɔmfo no haw ɔno ankasa ho. Wɔama waka ntam nti osuro sɛ obedi adanse.
25 The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in the LORD is kept safe.
Onipa ho suro betumi ayɛ afiri, na nea ɔde ne ho to Awurade so no, wobegye no.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favour, but a man’s justice comes from the LORD.
Bebree hwehwɛ sɛ wobenya ɔhene ne no akasa, nanso onipa nya atɛntrenee fi Awurade nkyɛn.
27 A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.
