Numbers 24

1 When Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to use divination, but he set his face towards the wilderness.

൧യിസ്രായേലിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത് യഹോവയ്ക്ക് പ്രസാദമെന്ന് ബിലെയാം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവൻ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ലക്ഷണം നോക്കുവാൻ പോകാതെ മരുഭൂമിക്കുനേരെ മുഖം തിരിച്ചു.

2 Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.

൨ബിലെയാം തല ഉയർത്തി യിസ്രായേൽ ഗോത്രംഗോത്രമായി പാർക്കുന്നത് കണ്ടു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് അവന്റെമേൽ വന്നു;

3 He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;

൩അവൻ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയത്: “ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാം പറയുന്നു.

4 he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

൪കണ്ണടച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷൻ പറയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട് കേൾക്കുന്നവൻ, സർവ്വശക്തന്റെ ദർശനം ദർശിക്കുന്നവൻ, വീഴുമ്പോൾ കണ്ണ് തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നവൻ പറയുന്നത്:

5 How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your dwellings, Israel!

൫യാക്കോബേ, നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ, യിസ്രായേലേ, നിന്റെ നിവാസങ്ങൾ എത്ര മനോഹരം!

6 As valleys they are spread out, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which the LORD has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.

൬താഴ്വരപോലെ അവ പരന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നദീതീരത്തെ ഉദ്യാനങ്ങൾപോലെ, യഹോവ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ചന്ദനവൃക്ഷങ്ങൾപോലെ, ജലാന്തികേയുള്ള ദേവദാരുക്കൾപോലെ തന്നെ.

7 Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.

൭അവന്റെ തൊട്ടികളിൽനിന്ന് വെള്ളം ഒഴുകുന്നു; അവന്റെ വിത്തിന് വെള്ളം ധാരാളം; അവന്റെ രാജാവ് ആഗാഗിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ; അവന്റെ രാജത്വം ഉന്നതം തന്നെ.

8 God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall consume the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.

൮ദൈവം അവനെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു; കാട്ടുപോത്തിന് തുല്യമായ ബലം അവനുണ്ട്; ശത്രുജാതികളെ അവൻ തിന്നുകളയുന്നു; അവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളെ അവൻ തകർക്കുന്നു; അസ്ത്രം എയ്ത് അവരെ തുളയ്ക്കുന്നു.

9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”

൯അവൻ സിംഹംപോലെ പതുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; ഒരു സിംഹിപോലെ തന്നെ; ആരവനെ ഉണർത്തും? നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; നിന്നെ ശപിക്കുന്നവൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ.

10 Balak’s anger burnt against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.

൧൦അപ്പോൾ ബാലാക്കിന്റെ കോപം ബിലെയാമിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു; അവൻ കൈഞെരിച്ച് ബിലെയാമിനോട്: “എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ശപിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു; നീ ഇവരെ ഈ മൂന്ന് പ്രാവശ്യവും ആശീർവ്വദിക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്.

11 Therefore, flee to your place, now! I thought to promote you to great honour; but, behold, the LORD has kept you back from honour.”

൧൧ഇപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പോകുക; നിന്നെ ഏറ്റവും ബഹുമാനിക്കുവാൻ ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് ബഹുമാനം മുടക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

12 Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers whom you sent to me, saying,

൧൨അതിന് ബിലെയാം ബാലാക്കിനോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: “ബാലാക്ക് തന്റെ ഗൃഹം നിറച്ച് വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും തന്നാലും യഹോവയുടെ കല്പന ലംഘിച്ച് ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും സ്വമേധയായി ചെയ്യുവാൻ എനിക്ക് കഴിയുന്നതല്ല;

13 ‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the LORD’s word, to do either good or bad from my own mind. I will say what the LORD says’?

൧൩‘യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നത് മാത്രമേ ഞാൻ പറയുകയുള്ളു’ എന്ന് എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നീ അയച്ച ദൂതന്മാരോട് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞില്ലയോ?

14 Now, behold, I go to my people. Come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”

൧൪ഇപ്പോൾ ഇതാ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് പോകുന്നു; വരുക, ഭാവികാലത്ത് ഈ ജനം നിന്റെ ജനത്തോട് എന്ത് ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാം.

15 He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eyes are open says;

൧൫പിന്നെ അവൻ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിത്തുടങ്ങിയതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ബെയോരിന്റെ മകൻ ബിലെയാം പറയുന്നു; കണ്ണടച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പുരുഷൻ പറയുന്നു;

16 he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:

൧൬ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട് കേൾക്കുന്നവൻ, അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിച്ചവൻ, സർവ്വശക്തന്റെ ദർശനം ദർശിക്കുന്നവൻ, വീഴുമ്പോൾ കണ്ണ് തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നവൻ പറയുന്നത്:

17 I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A sceptre will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.

൧൭ഞാൻ അവിടുത്തെ കാണും, ഇപ്പോൾ അല്ലതാനും; ഞാൻ അവിടുത്തെ ദർശിക്കും, അടുത്തല്ലതാനും. യാക്കോബിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു നക്ഷത്രം ഉദിക്കും; യിസ്രായേലിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു ചെങ്കോൽ ഉയരും. അത് മോവാബിന്റെ പാർശ്വങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം തകർക്കുകയും ശേത്തിന്റെ എല്ലാ പുത്രന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും സംഹരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

18 Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemy, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.

൧൮ഏദോം ഒരു അധീനദേശമാകും; ശത്രുവായ സെയീരും അധീനദേശമാകും; യിസ്രായേലോ വീര്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കും.

19 Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”

൧൯യാക്കോബിൽനിന്ന് ഒരുത്തൻ ഭരിക്കും; ശേഷിച്ചവരെ അവൻ നഗരത്തിൽനിന്ന് നശിപ്പിക്കും”.

20 He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, but his latter end shall come to destruction.”

൨൦അവൻ അമാലേക്കിനെ നോക്കി സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയത്: “അമാലേക്ക് ജാതികളിൽ മുമ്പൻ; അവന്റെ അവസാനമോ നാശം അത്രേ”.

21 He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.

൨൧അവൻ കേന്യരെ നോക്കി സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയത്: “നിന്റെ നിവാസം ഉറപ്പുള്ളത്: നിന്റെ കൂട് പാറയിൽ വച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

22 Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”

൨൨എങ്കിലും കേന്യന് നിർമ്മൂലനാശം ഭവിക്കും; അശ്ശൂർ നിന്നെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ ഇനിയെത്ര?”

23 He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?

൨൩പിന്നെ അവൻ ഈ സുഭാഷിതം ചൊല്ലിയത്: “ഹാ, ദൈവം ഇത് നിവർത്തിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആര് ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും?

24 But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”

൨൪കിത്തീംതീരത്തുനിന്ന് കപ്പലുകൾ വരും; അവ അശ്ശൂരിനെ താഴ്ത്തും, ഏബെരിനെയും താഴ്ത്തും. അവനും നിർമ്മൂലനാശം ഭവിക്കും.

25 Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.

൨൫അതിന്‍റെശേഷം ബിലെയാം പുറപ്പെട്ട് തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി; ബാലാക്കും തന്റെ വഴിക്ക് പോയി.
