Luke 3
1 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
सम्राट कयसर तिबेरियॉस के शासनकाल के पन्द्रहवें वर्ष में जब पोन्तियॉस पिलातॉस यहूदिया प्रदेश का राज्यपाल, तथा हेरोदेस गलील प्रदेश का, उसका भाई फ़िलिप्पॉस इतूरिया और त्रख़ोनीतिस प्रदेश का, तथा लिसनियस एबिलीन का शासक थे,
2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to Yochanan, the son of Zechariah, in the wilderness.
और जब हन्ना और कायाफ़स महापुरोहित पद पर थे; ज़करयाह के पुत्र योहन को, जब वह बंजर भूमि में थे, परमेश्वर की ओर से एक संदेश प्राप्त हुआ.
3 He came into all the region around the Jordan, proclaiming the immersion of repentance for remission of sins.
इसलिये योहन यरदन नदी के आस-पास के सभी क्षेत्र में भ्रमण करते हुए पाप क्षमा के लिए पश्चाताप के बपतिस्मा का प्रचार करने लगे;
4 As it is written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord. Make his paths straight.
जैसा बपतिस्मा देनेवाले योहन के विषय में भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह के शब्दों के पुस्तक में लिखा है: “एक आवाज, जो बंजर भूमि में पुकारनेवाले की कह रही है, ‘प्रभु के लिए मार्ग को तैयार करो; उनका मार्ग सरल बनाओ.
5 Every valley will be filled. Every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will become straight, and the rough ways smooth.
हर एक घाटी भर दी जाएगी, हर एक पर्वत और पहाड़ी समतल की जाएगी. टेढ़े रास्ते सीधे हो जाएंगे, तथा असमतल पथ समतल.
6 All flesh will see God’s salvation.’”
हर एक मनुष्य के सामने परमेश्वर का उद्धार स्पष्ट हो जाएगा.’”
7 He said therefore to the multitudes who went out to be immersed by him, “You offspring of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
बपतिस्मा लेने के उद्देश्य से अपने पास आई भीड़ को संबोधित करते हुए योहन कहते थे, “विषैले सांपों की संतान! समीप आ रहे क्रोध से भागने की चेतावनी तुम्हें किसने दे दी?
8 Therefore produce fruits worthy of repentance, and don’t begin to say amongst yourselves, ‘We have Abraham for our father;’ for I tell you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones!
सच्चे मन फिराने का प्रमाण दो और अपने आपको ऐसा कहना शुरू मत करो: ‘हम तो अब्राहाम की संतान हैं!’ क्योंकि मैं तुम्हें बताता हूं कि परमेश्वर में इन पत्थरों तक से अब्राहाम की संतान पैदा करने का सामर्थ्य है.
9 Even now the axe also lies at the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
कुल्हाड़ी पहले ही वृक्षों की जड़ पर रखी हुई है. हर एक पेड़, जो उत्तम फल नहीं फलता, काटा जाता और आग में झोंक दिया जाता है.”
10 The multitudes asked him, “What then must we do?”
इस पर भीड़ ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “तब हम क्या करें?”
11 He answered them, “He who has two coats, let him give to him who has none. He who has food, let him do likewise.”
योहन ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “जिस व्यक्ति के पास दो कुर्ते हैं, वह एक उसे दे दे, जिसके पास एक भी नहीं है. जिसके पास भोजन है, वह भी यही करे.”
12 Tax collectors also came to be immersed, and they said to him, “Rabbi, what must we do?”
चुंगी लेनेवाले भी बपतिस्मा के लिए उनके पास आए और उन्होंने योहन से प्रश्न किया, “गुरुवर! हमारे लिए उचित क्या है?”
13 He said to them, “Collect no more than that which is appointed to you.”
“निर्धारित राशि से अधिक मत लो.” योहन ने उत्तर दिया.
14 Soldiers also asked him, saying, “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Extort from no one by violence, neither accuse anyone wrongfully. Be content with your wages.”
कुछ सिपाहियों ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “हमें बताइए—हम क्या करें?” योहन ने उत्तर दिया, “न तो डरा-धमका कर लोगों से पैसा ऐंठो और न ही उन पर झूठा आरोप लगाओ परंतु अपने वेतन में ही संतुष्ट रहो.”
15 As the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning Yochanan, whether perhaps he was the Messiah,
बड़ी जिज्ञासा के भाव में भीड़ यह जानने का प्रयास कर रही थी और अपने-अपने हृदय में यही विचार कर रहे थे कि कहीं योहन ही तो मसीह नहीं हैं.
16 Yochanan answered them all, “I indeed immerse you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire.
भीड़ को संबोधित करते हुए योहन ने स्पष्ट किया, “मेरा बपतिस्मा तो मात्र जल-बपतिस्मा है किंतु एक मुझसे अधिक सामर्थ्यशाली आ रहे हैं. मैं तो उनकी जूतियों के बंध खोलने योग्य भी नहीं. वही हैं, जो तुम्हें पवित्र आत्मा और आग में बपतिस्मा देंगे.
17 His winnowing fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
सूप उसके हाथ में है. वह गेहूं को निरुपयोगी भूसी और डंठल से अलग करते हैं. वह गेहूं को खलिहान में इकट्ठा करेंगे तथा भूसी को कभी न बुझनेवाली आग में भस्म कर देंगे.”
18 Then with many other exhortations he preached good news to the people,
योहन अनेक प्रकार से शिक्षा देते हुए लोगों में सुसमाचार का प्रचार करते रहे.
19 but Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias, his brother’s wife, and for all the evil things which Herod had done,
जब योहन ने राज्यपाल हेरोदेस को उसके भाई की पत्नी हेरोदिअस के विषय में तथा स्वयं उसी के द्वारा किए गए अन्य कुकर्मों के कारण फटकार लगाई,
20 added this also to them all, that he shut up Yochanan in prison.
तब हेरोदेस ने एक और कुकर्म किया: उसने योहन ही को बंदी बनाकर कारागार में डाल दिया.
21 Now when all the people were immersed, Yeshua also had been immersed and was praying. The sky was opened,
जब लोग योहन से बपतिस्मा ले रहे थे, उन्होंने प्रभु येशु को भी बपतिस्मा दिया. इस अवसर पर, जब प्रभु येशु प्रार्थना कर रहे थे, स्वर्ग खोल दिया गया
22 and the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily form like a dove on him; and a voice came out of the sky, saying “You are my beloved Son. In you I am well pleased.”
और पवित्र आत्मा प्रभु येशु पर शारीरिक रूप में कबूतर के समान उतरे और स्वर्ग से निकला एक शब्द सुना गया: “तुम मेरे पुत्र हो—मेरे प्रिय. मैं तुममें पूरी तरह संतुष्ट हूं.”
23 Yeshua himself, when he began to teach, was about thirty years old, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Eli,
प्रभु येशु ने जब अपनी सेवकाई प्रारंभ की तब उनकी अवस्था लगभग तीस वर्ष की थी. जैसा समझा जाता है कि वह योसेफ़ के पुत्र हैं, योसेफ़ हेली के,
24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph,
हेली मथ्थात के, मथ्थात लेवी के, लेवी मेल्ख़ी के, मेल्ख़ी यन्नाई के, यन्नाई योसेफ़ के,
25 the son of Mattithiah, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
योसेफ़ मत्ताथियाह के, मत्ताथियाह आमोस के, आमोस नहूम के, नहूम ऍस्ली के, ऍस्ली नग्गाई के,
26 the son of Maath, the son of Mattithiah, the son of Shimei, the son of Joseph, the son of Judah,
नग्गाई माहथ के, माहथ मत्ताथियाह के, मत्ताथियाह सेमेई के, सेमेई योसेख़ के, योसेख़ योदा के,
27 the son of Yochanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, the son of Neri,
योदा योअनान के, योअनान रेसा के, रेसा ज़ेरोबाबेल के, ज़ेरोबाबेल सलाथिएल के, सलाथिएल नेरी के,
28 the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmodam, the son of Er,
नेरी मेल्ख़ी के, मेल्ख़ी अद्दी के, अद्दी कोसम के, कोसम एल्मोदम के, एल्मोदम एर के,
29 the son of Yosi, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi,
एर यहोशू के, यहोशू एलिएज़र के, एलिएज़र योरीम के, योरीम मथ्थात के, मथ्थात लेवी के,
30 the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonan, the son of Eliakim,
लेवी शिमओन के, शिमओन यहूदाह के, यहूदाह योसेफ़ के, योसेफ़ योनाम के, योनाम एलियाकिम के
31 the son of Maleah, the son of Manah, the son of Mattathah, the son of Nathan, the son of David,
एलियाकिम मेलिया के, मेलिया मेन्ना के, महीनन मत्ताथा के, मत्ताथा नाथान के, नाथान दावीद के,
32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon,
दावीद यिशै के, यिशै ओबेद के, ओबेद बोअज़ के, बोअज़ सलमोन के, सलमोन नाहश्शोन के,
33 the son of Amminadab, the son of Ram, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah,
नाहश्शोन अम्मीनादाब के, अम्मीनादाब राम के, राम आरनी के, आरनी हेज़रोन के, हेज़रोन फ़ारेस के, फ़ारेस यहूदाह के,
34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
यहूदाह याकोब के, याकोब यित्सहाक के, यित्सहाक अब्राहाम के, अब्राहाम तेराह के, तेराह नाख़ोर के,
35 the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah,
नाख़ोर सेरूख़ के, सेरूख़ रागाउ के, रागाउ फ़ालेक के, फ़ालेक ईबर के, ईबर शेलाह के,
36 the son of Kenan, the son of Arpachshad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech,
शेलाह केनन के, केनन अरफाक्साद के, अरफाक्साद शेम के, शेम नोहा के, नोहा लामेख़ के,
37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalalel, the son of Kenan,
लामेख़ मेथुसेलाह के, मेथुसेलाह हनोख, हनोख यारेत के, यारेत मालेलेईल के, मालेलेईल काईनम के,
38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
काईनम ईनॉश के, ईनॉश सेथ के, सेथ आदम के और आदम परमेश्वर के पुत्र थे.
