< Isaiah 8 >
1 The LORD said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
Onyenwe anyị siri m, “Were otu mbadamba ihe dị ukwuu, were odee nke onye ọbụla na-eji ede ihe dekwasị ya Maha-shalal-Hash-Baz.
2 and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”
Aga m akpọbata Ụraya onye nchụaja na Zekaraya nwa Jeberekaya dịka ndị akaebe kwesiri ntụkwasị obi.”
3 I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’
Emesịa, mụ na nwunye m, bụ onye amụma dinakọrọ, ọ tụụrụ ime, mụọrọ m nwa nwoke. Ma Onyenwe anyị sịrị m, “Gụọ ya Maha-shalal-Hash-Baz.
4 For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father’ and ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria.”
Nʼihi na tupu nwantakịrị ahụ etolite ịkpọ nne maọbụ nna, eze ndị Asịrịa ga-ebuso Damaskọs na Sameria agha, bukọrọkwa akụ ha niile.”
5 The LORD spoke to me yet again, saying,
Onyenwe anyị gwakwara m okwu ọzọ sị,
6 “Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
“Nʼihi na ndị a ajụla mmiri Shiloa nke ji nwayọọ na-asọ ma na-aṅụrị ọṅụ nʼihi Rezin na nwa nwoke Remalaya,
7 now therefore, behold, the Lord brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.
8 It will sweep onward into Judah. It will overflow and pass through. It will reach even to the neck. The stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, O Immanuel.
wụsịakwa nʼala Juda niile. Ọ ga-erikpu ala Juda niile, ọ ga-agabiga, kpuchiekwa ọ bụladị nʼolu ka ọ ga-eru. Nku ya ga-agbasa kpuchie obosara niile nke ala gị, O Ịmanụel.”
9 Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!
Tienụ mkpu agha unu mba dị iche iche, ma a ga-etipịa unu. Geenụ ntị unu mba niile dị ebe dị anya. Kwadoonụ maka agha ma a ga-etipịa unu. Kwadoonụ maka agha ka e tipịa unu.
10 Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand, for God is with us.”
Tụọnụ atụmatụ unu ma a ga-ekposa ya. Wepụtanụ atụmatụ unu ma ọ gaghị eguzo nʼihi na Chineke nọnyere anyị.
11 For the LORD spoke this to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị sịrị m nʼike nke aka ya dị nʼahụ, ọ dọrọ m aka na ntị ka m ghara ije ije nʼụzọ ndị nke a, na-asị:
12 “Don’t call a conspiracy all that this people call a conspiracy. Don’t fear their threats or be terrorised.
“Adịnyerela ha nʼihe niile ha na-ezube ime na nzuzo megide ọchịchị; ka ihe ha na-atụ egwu hapụ ịbụ ihe ga-eme ka ị tụọ egwu.
13 The LORD of Hosts is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.
Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, ya ka unu ga-edo nsọ. Ya bụ onye unu kwesiri ịtụ ụjọ. Ya bụ onye unu ga-atụ egwu ma jijiji.
14 He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel, he will be a stumbling stone and a rock that makes them fall. For the people of Jerusalem, he will be a trap and a snare.
15 Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”
Ọtụtụ nʼime ha ga-asọ ngọngọ; ha ga-ada bụrụ ndị e tipịara. Ha ga-abụ ndị ọnya ga-ama, na ndị a ga-anwude.”
16 Wrap up the covenant. Seal the law amongst my disciples.
Kechie ihe ịgba ama nke iwu a kpuchie ntụziaka Chineke nke ọma nʼetiti ndị na-eso ụzọ ya.
17 I will wait for the LORD, who hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
Aga m echere Onyenwe anyị, onye na-ezonarị ụlọ Jekọb ihu ya ugbu a. Aga m atụkwasị obi m na ya.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion.
Lee mụ onwe m, na ụmụ ndị Onyenwe anyị nyere m. Anyị bụ ihe ịrịbama na ihe iji cheta ihe nye ndị Izrel site na Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile, onye na-ebi nʼugwu Zayọn.
19 When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter,” shouldn’t a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Mgbe onye ọbụla sịrị unu, jụtanụ ndị na-ajụ mmụọ ọjọọ ase na ndị dibịa afa ihe, bụ ndị na-ekwu okwu nʼolu dị nta nke mmadụ na-adịghị anụ nke ọma na ndị na-atamu atamu, ndị mmadụ ọ gaghị ajụ Chineke ha ase? Ọ bụ nʼihi gịnị ka eji jụta ndị nwụrụ anwụ ase nʼihi ndị dị ndụ?
20 Turn to the law and to the covenant! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
Lezienụ okwu ntụziaka na nke ịdọ aka na ntị Chineke anya. Ọ bụrụ na ozi ha dị iche na nke a, o gosiri na ha enweghị ìhè maọbụ eziokwu ọbụla nʼime ha.
21 They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry. It will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse their king and their God. They will turn their faces upward,
Ndị a ga-awagharị nʼala a niile. Agụụ ga-agụ ha, ha ga-adakwa mba. Nʼọnọdụ oke agụụ nke ga-agụ ha, iwe dị ukwuu ga-ewe ha, mee ka ha lelie anya ha nʼelu, kọchaa eze ha, na Chineke ha.
22 then look to the earth and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
Mgbe ahụ, ọ bụrụ na ha eledata anya ha nʼala ọ bụ naanị oke nsogbu na oke ihe mgbu ka ha ga-ahụ. Ha ga-ahụkwa oke ihe egwu na ọchịchịrị. Ụzọ mgbapụ agaghị adịkwara ha nʼoge nsogbu a. A ga-achụbanye ha nʼime ọchịchịrị.
