Genesis 2
1 The heavens, the earth, and all their vast array were finished.
斯天地および其衆群悉く成ぬ
2 On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done.
第七日に神其造りたる工を竣たまへり即ち其造りたる工を竣て七日に安息たまへり
3 God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work of creation which he had done.
神七日を祝して之を神聖めたまへり其は神其創造爲たまへる工を盡く竣て是日に安息みたまひたればなり
4 This is the history of the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens.
ヱホバ神地と天を造りたまへる日に天地の創造られたる其由來は是なり
5 No plant of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth. There was not a man to till the ground,
野の諸の灌木は未だ地にあらず野の諸の草蔬は未生ぜざりき其はヱホバ神雨を地に降せたまはず亦土地を耕す人なかりければなり
6 but a mist went up from the earth, and watered the whole surface of the ground.
霧地より上りて土地の面を遍く潤したり
7 The LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
ヱホバ神土の塵を以て人を造り生氣を其鼻に嘘入たまへり人即ち生靈となりぬ
8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had formed.
ヱホバ神エデンの東の方に園を設て其造りし人を其處に置たまへり
9 Out of the ground the LORD God made every tree to grow that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food, including the tree of life in the middle of the garden and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
ヱホバ神觀に美麗く食ふに善き各種の樹を土地より生ぜしめ又園の中に生命の樹および善惡を知の樹を生ぜしめ給へり
10 A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from there it was parted, and became the source of four rivers.
河エデンより出て園を潤し彼處より分れて四の源となれり
11 The name of the first is Pishon: it flows through the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
其第一の名はピソンといふ是は金あるハビラの全地を繞る者なり
12 and the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and onyx stone are also there.
其地の金は善し又ブドラクと碧玉彼處にあり
13 The name of the second river is Gihon. It is the same river that flows through the whole land of Cush.
第二の河の名はギホンといふ是はクシの全地を繞る者なり
14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel. This is the one which flows in front of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
第三の河の名はヒデケルといふ是はアッスリヤの東に流るるものなり第四の河はユフラテなり
15 The LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it.
ヱホバ神其人を挈て彼をエデンの園に置き之を埋め之を守らしめ給へり
16 The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;
ヱホバ神其人に命じて言たまひけるは園の各種の樹の果は汝意のままに食ふことを得
17 but you shall not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”
然ど善惡を知の樹は汝その果を食ふべからず汝之を食ふ日には必ず死べければなり
18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
ヱホバ神言たまひけるは人獨なるは善らず我彼に適ふ助者を彼のために造らんと
19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every animal of the field, and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature became its name.
ヱホバ神土を以て野の諸の獸と天空の諸の鳥を造りたまひてアダムの之を何と名るかを見んとて之を彼の所に率ゐいたりたまへりアダムが生物に名けたる所は皆其名となりぬ
20 The man gave names to all livestock, and to the birds of the sky, and to every animal of the field; but for man there was not found a helper comparable to him.
アダム諸の家畜と天空の鳥と野の諸の獸に名を與へたり然どアダムには之に適ふ助者みえざりき
21 The LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. As the man slept, he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.
是に於てヱホバ神アダムを熟く睡らしめ睡りし時其肋骨の一を取り肉をもて其處を填塞たまへり
22 The LORD God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
ヱホバ神アダムより取たる肋骨を以て女を成り之をアダムの所に携きたりたまへり
23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.”
アダム言けるは此こそわが骨の骨わが肉の肉なれ此は男より取たる者なれば之を女と名くべしと
24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
是故に人は其父母を離れて其妻に好合ひ二人一體となるべし
25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they were not ashamed.
アダムと其妻は二人倶に裸體にして愧ざりき
