< 2 Samuel 7 >
1 When the king lived in his house, and the LORD had given him rest from all his enemies all around,
Awo olwatuuka kabaka n’atereera mu lubiri lwe, Mukama n’amuwa okuwummula eri abalabe be bonna abaamwetooloola.
2 the king said to Nathan the prophet, “See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but God’s ark dwells within curtains.”
N’agamba Nasani nnabbi nti, “Laba ntudde mu lubiri olwazimbibwa n’emivule, naye essanduuko ya Katonda eri mu weema.”
3 Nathan said to the king, “Go, do all that is in your heart, for the LORD is with you.”
Nasani n’addamu kabaka nti, “Genda okole ng’omutima gwo bwe gukugamba, kubanga Mukama ali wamu naawe.”
4 That same night, the LORD’s word came to Nathan, saying,
Ekiro ekyo ekigambo kya Mukama ne kijjira Nasani nti,
5 “Go and tell my servant David, ‘The LORD says, “Should you build me a house for me to dwell in?
“Genda otegeeze omuddu wange Dawudi nti, ‘Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama nti, Ggwe olinzimbira ennyumba ey’okubeeramu?
6 For I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought the children of Israel up out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle.
Sibeeranga mu nnyumba okuva ku lunaku lwe naggya Abayisirayiri mu Misiri, ne leero. Ntambudde okuva mu kifo ekimu okudda mu kirala nga mbeera mu weema.
7 In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’
Mu bifo byonna bye ntambudde n’Abayisirayiri bonna, nnina ekigambo n’ekimu kye nagamba abafuzi baabwe be nalagira okukulembera abantu bange, Isirayiri nti, “Kiki ekibalobedde okunzimbira ennyumba ey’emivule?”’
8 Now therefore tell my servant David this: ‘The LORD of Hosts says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel.
“Kaakano tegeeza omuddu wange Dawudi nti, ‘Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama, ow’Eggye nti, “Nakuggya mu ddundiro gye walundiranga endiga ne nkufuula omukulembeze w’abantu bange Isirayiri.
9 I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are in the earth.
Mbadde naawe buli gy’ogenze, era nzikiririzza abalabe bo bonna mu maaso go. Ndifuula erinnya lyo okuba ekkulu, ne liba ng’erimu ku g’abasajja ab’ekitiibwa ennyo mu nsi.
10 I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place and be moved no more. The children of wickedness will not afflict them any more, as at the first,
Ndifunira abantu bange Isirayiri ekifo ekyabwe ku bwabwe, balemenga okutawanyizibwanga. Abantu ababi tebalibacocca nate, nga bwe baakolanga olubereberye,
11 and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover the LORD tells you that the LORD will make you a house.
okuva lwe nalonda abalamuzi okufuga abantu bange Isirayiri. Era ndikuwa ebiseera eby’emirembe abalabe bo baleme okukuyigganya. “‘“Mukama akugamba nti Mukama Katonda yennyini, alinyweza ennyumba yo.
12 When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
Ennaku zo bwe ziriggwaako, n’owummula ne bajjajjaabo, ndikuza ezzadde lyo eririva munda yo likusikire, era ndinyweza obwakabaka bwe.
13 He will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.
Oyo yalizimbira Erinnya lyange ennyumba, era ndinyweza entebe ye ey’obwakabaka bwe ennaku zonna.
14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men;
Nnaabeeranga kitaawe, naye aliba mwana wange. Bw’anasobyanga nnaamukangavvulanga n’omuggo ogw’abantu n’enga ez’abantu.
15 but my loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you.
Naye okwagala kwange tekumuvengako, nga bwe kwava ku Sawulo, gwe naggya mu maaso go.
16 Your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you. Your throne will be established forever.”’”
Ennyumba yo n’obwakabaka bwo birifuuka bya nkalakkalira ennaku zonna mu maaso gange, era entebe yo ey’obwakabaka erinywezebwa ennaku zonna.”’”
17 Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision.
Nasani n’ategeeza Dawudi ebigambo byonna eby’okubikkulirwa kwe.
18 Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD; and he said, “Who am I, Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far?
Awo kabaka Dawudi n’ayingira n’atuula mu maaso ga Mukama, n’ayogera nti, “Nze ani, Ayi Mukama Katonda, n’ennyumba yange kye ki, ggwe okuntuusa wano?
19 This was yet a small thing in your eyes, Lord GOD, but you have spoken also of your servant’s house for a great while to come; and this amongst men, Lord GOD!
Gy’obeera ekyo tekimala, Ayi Mukama Katonda, oyogedde ku bigenda okubaawo mu biro eby’omu maaso ku nnyumba ey’omuddu wo. Bw’otyo bw’okolagana n’omuntu, Ayi Mukama Katonda?
20 What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Lord GOD.
“Kiki ekirala Dawudi kyayinza okukugamba, kubanga ggwe, Ayi Mukama Katonda omanyi omuddu wo.
21 For your word’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it.
Olw’ekigambo kyo n’olw’okusiima kwo, okoze ebintu bino ebikulu, n’obimanyisa omuddu wo.
22 Therefore you are great, LORD God. For there is no one like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
“Ng’oli mukulu, Ayi Mukama Katonda! Tewali akwenkana, era tewali Katonda wabula ggwe, nga bwe twewuliridde n’amatu gaffe.
23 What one nation in the earth is like your people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem to himself for a people, and to make himself a name, and to do great things for you, and awesome things for your land, before your people, whom you redeemed to yourself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods?
Era ggwanga ki mu nsi erifaanana ng’abantu bo Isirayiri, eggwanga Katonda lye yeenunulira, ne yeekolera erinnya, n’abakolera ebintu ebikulu eby’amagero bwe yagoba amawanga ne balubaale baabwe mu maaso g’abantu bo be weenunulira okuva mu Misiri?
24 You established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever; and you, LORD, became their God.
Onywezezza abantu bo, Isirayiri ng’ababo ddala emirembe gyonna era ggwe Ayi Mukama wafuuka Katonda waabwe.
25 “Now, LORD God, the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, confirm it forever, and do as you have spoken.
“Kaakano, Ayi Mukama Katonda, otuukirize ekyo kye wasuubiza omuddu wo n’ennyumba ye okole nga bwe wasuubiza,
26 Let your name be magnified forever, saying, ‘The LORD of Hosts is God over Israel; and the house of your servant David will be established before you.’
erinnya lyo ligulumizibwenga emirembe gyonna, n’abantu boogerenga nti, ‘Mukama ow’Eggye ye Katonda wa Isirayiri,’ era n’ennyumba ey’omuddu wo Dawudi erinywezebwa mu maaso go.
27 For you, LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, have revealed to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to you.
“Ayi Mukama ow’Eggye, Katonda wa Isirayiri, ekyo okibikkulidde omuddu wo ng’ogamba nti, ‘Ndikuzimbira ennyumba,’ omuddu wo kyavudde ayaŋŋanga okuwaayo okusaba okwo gy’oli.
28 “Now, O Lord GOD, you are God, and your words are truth, and you have promised this good thing to your servant.
Ayi Mukama Katonda, oli Katonda, n’ebigambo byo bya mazima, era omuddu wo omusuubizza ebintu ebirungi.
29 Now therefore, let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever before you; for you, Lord GOD, have spoken it. Let the house of your servant be blessed forever with your blessing.”
Kale nno okkirize okuwa ennyumba ey’omuddu wo omukisa enywerere mu maaso go ennaku zonna, kubanga ggwe Ayi Mukama Katonda oyogedde, era ennyumba ey’omuddu wo eneebanga n’omukisa ennaku zonna.”
