1 Timothy 3
1 This is a faithful saying: someone who seeks to be an overseer desires a good work.

2 The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;
Aa le tsy mahay tsy halio tahiñe i mpiaoloy, migahiñe amy rakemba’ey, tsy mpijike, hendre, vañoñe, mpitoka-pandrioñe, mahay mañoke;
3 not a drinker, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous;
tsy mpitolon-divay, tsy mpandafa, fa mpiheve, trentram-po, votsotse ami’ty hatea drala,
4 one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence;
mahay mandahatse ty anjomba’e, tsy manjehatse o keleia’eo fa miandaly ama’e;
5 (for how could someone who doesn’t know how to rule his own house take care of God’s assembly?)
(aa naho tsy mahafehe ty anjomba’e t’indaty, aia ty hahafiatraha’e ty Fivorin’ Añahare?)
6 not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.
le tsy t’ie vaho namototse ho mpiato, hera hirengevoke vaho hifotsake ami’ty fa’ i mpañìnjey.
7 Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Paiañe t’ie ho to-rehake am’ondaty alafe’eo, tsy mone hikorovoke ami’ty inje naho ty fandri’ i mpañìnjey.
8 Servants, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for money,
Hambañe amy zay o mpitoroñeo, t’ie higahiñe, tsy mpitolom-bolañe, tsy mpigeno-divay, tsy mpipay vokàñe,
9 holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
fe tambozore’e an-kazavàm-po o raha mietake amy fatokisañeio.
10 Let them also first be tested; then let them serve if they are blameless.
Soa re te tsoheñe hey, le ie ventèñe te tsy aman-kandra ro ampitoloñeñe.
11 Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, and faithful in all things.
Tsy mete tsy ho hendre ka o rakembao, tsy mpikanifoke, fa mahalie-batañe, naho malili-po amy ze he’e.
12 Let servants be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.
Raike avao ty vali’ i mpitoroñey, ie mahafehe o keleia’eo naho i anjomba’ey,
13 For those who have served well gain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Messiah Yeshua.
fa mitaka-kavañonañe ty mpitoroñe mitolon-tsoa, naho mahasibek’ am-patokisañe, ie amy Iesoà Norizañey ao.
14 These things I write to you, hoping to come to you shortly,
Sokireko ama’o hey o raha zao, amy te salalaeko ty homb’ama’o mb’eo te aniany;
15 but if I wait long, that you may know how men ought to behave themselves in God’s house, which is the assembly of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
fe ke malaoñe, le ho fohi’o ty fanao añ’anjomban’ Añahare ao, i Fivorin’ Añahare veloñey, ty fahañe naho manantan-katò.
16 Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: God was revealed in the flesh, justified in the spirit, seen by angels, preached amongst the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.
Fonga miantoke te ra’elahy ty tafatoñom-pañambenañe Hake: Ie naboak’ an-tsandriñe, Nampivantañeñe añ’arofo, Niisa’ o anjelio, Nitaroñeñe amo kilakila ondatio, Natokisañe ami’ty voatse toy, Rinambe añ’engeñe ao.
