1 Timothy 2
1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men,
Exhorto ante todo a que se hagan súplicas, oraciones, rogativas y acciones de gracias por todos los hombres,
2 for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
por los reyes y por todas las autoridades, para que llevemos una vida tranquila y quieta, en toda piedad y honestidad.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
Esto es bueno y grato delante de Dios nuestro Salvador,
4 who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.
el cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos y lleguen al conocimiento de la verdad.
5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Messiah Yeshua,
Pues hay un solo Dios, y un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres: el hombre Cristo Jesús,
6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, the testimony at the proper time,
que se entregó a sí mismo en rescate por todos, según fue atestiguado en su mismo tiempo.
7 to which I was appointed a proclaimer and an emissary—I am telling the truth in Messiah, not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Para este fin he sido yo constituido heraldo y apóstol —digo la verdad, no miento— doctor de los gentiles en la fe y la verdad.
8 I desire therefore that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting.
Deseo, pues, que los varones oren en todo lugar, alzando manos santas sin ira ni disensión.
9 In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing,
Asimismo que las mujeres, en traje decente, se adornen con recato y sensatez, no con cabellos rizados, u oro, o perlas, o vestidos lujosos,
10 but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.
sino con buenas obras, cual conviene a mujeres que hacen profesión de servir a Dios.
11 Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission.
La mujer aprenda en silencio, con toda sumisión.
12 But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.
Enseñar no le permito a la mujer, ni que domine al marido, sino que permanezca en silencio.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Havah.
Porque Adán fue formado primero y después Eva.
14 Adam wasn’t deceived, but the woman, being deceived, has fallen into disobedience;
Y no fue engañado Adán, sino que la mujer, seducida, incurrió en la transgresión;
15 but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness with sobriety.
sin embargo, se salvará engendrando hijos, si con modestia permanece en fe y amor y santidad.
