< 1 Peter 5 >
1 Therefore I exhort the elders amongst you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed:
The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Messiah, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 shepherd the flock of God which is amongst you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
Feed the flock of YHWH which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 not as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
Neither as being masters over those entrusted to you, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.
And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility and subject yourselves to one another; for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for YHWH resisteth the proud, and giveth favour to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time,
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of YHWH, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8 Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Messiah Yeshua, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. (aiōnios )
But the Elohim of all favour, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Messiah Yahushua, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (aiōnios )
11 To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. amein. (aiōn )
12 Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true favour of YHWH wherein ye stand.
13 She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you. So does Mark, my son.
The assembly that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.
14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to all of you who are in Messiah Yeshua. Amen.
Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Messiah Yahushua. amein.
