< 1 Kings 6 >
1 In the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Ziv, which is the second month, he began to build the LORD’s house.
Mu mwaka ogw’ebina mu kinaana, abaana ba Isirayiri kasookedde bava mu nsi y’e Misiri, mu mwaka ogwokuna ogw’obufuzi bwa Sulemaani, mu mwezi ogwokubiri ogwa Zivu, Sulemaani n’atandika okuzimba yeekaalu ya Mukama.
2 The house which King Solomon built for the LORD had a length of sixty cubits, and its width twenty, and its height thirty cubits.
Eyeekaalu kabaka Sulemaani gye yazimbira Mukama yali obuwanvu mita amakumi abiri mu musanvu, n’obugazi mita mwenda, n’obuwanvu mita kkumi na ssatu n’ekitundu.
3 The porch in front of the temple of the house had a length of twenty cubits, which was along the width of the house. Ten cubits was its width in front of the house.
Awayingirirwa mu maaso g’ekisenge ekinene ekya yeekaalu, waali mita mwenda, ng’obugazi bwa yeekaalu bwe bwali, ate ng’obugazi bwakyo mu maaso kiri mita nnya n’ekitundu okuva mu maaso ga yeekaalu.
4 He made windows of fixed lattice work for the house.
N’akola amadirisa amafunda mu kisenge kya yeekaalu.
5 Against the wall of the house, he built floors all around, against the walls of the house all around, both of the temple and of the inner sanctuary; and he made side rooms all around.
Wakati w’ebisenge eby’ekisenge ekinene, n’ekifo aw’okwogerera, n’azimba obusenge obw’okubbalibbali okwetooloola wo.
6 The lowest floor was five cubits wide, and the middle was six cubits wide, and the third was seven cubits wide; for on the outside he made offsets in the wall of the house all around, that the beams should not be inserted into the walls of the house.
Ekisenge ekya wansi kyali mita bbiri ne desimoolo ssatu obugazi, n’ekisenge eky’essa erya wakati kyali mita bbiri ne desimoolo musanvu, n’ekisenge eky’essa eryokusatu kyali mita ssatu ne desimoolo bbiri. N’asalako emiti okwetooloola eyeekaalu gireme okukomererwa mu bisenge bya yeekaalu.
7 The house, when it was under construction, was built of stone prepared at the quarry; and no hammer or axe or any tool of iron was heard in the house while it was under construction.
Bwe baali nga bazimba yeekaalu, baakozesanga amayinja agaali galongosereddwa gye bagatemeranga, era tewaawulirwa kuvuga okw’engeri yonna okw’ennyondo newaakubadde embazzi wadde ekyuma eky’engeri yonna mu kifo awaali wazimbirwa yeekaalu.
8 The door for the middle side rooms was in the right side of the house. They went up by winding stairs into the middle floor, and out of the middle into the third.
Omulyango ogw’ekisenge ekya wakati gwali ku luuyi olw’obukiikaddyo obwa yeekaalu; waabangawo amadaala agaakozesebwanga okugenda mu kisenge ekya wakati, n’okweyongerayo mu kisenge ekyokusatu ekya waggulu.
9 So he built the house and finished it; and he covered the house with beams and planks of cedar.
Awo n’azimba yeekaalu n’agimala, n’agisereka n’emiti n’embaawo ez’emivule.
10 He built the floors all along the house, each five cubits high; and they rested on the house with timbers of cedar.
N’azimba n’ebisenge ebitono okwetooloola yeekaalu, n’obugulumivu bwa buli kimu bwali mita emu n’ekitundu, nga byesigamizibbwa ku kisenge kya yeekaalu n’emiti gy’emivule.
11 The LORD’s word came to Solomon, saying,
Awo ekigambo kya Mukama ne kijjira Sulemaani nti,
12 “Concerning this house which you are building, if you will walk in my statutes, and execute my ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your father.
“Bino bye bikwata ku yeekaalu eno gy’ozimba; bw’onootambuliranga mu mateeka gange, n’ogondera ebiragiro byange, n’okwatanga n’amateeka gange gonna ng’ogatambuliramu, kale ndituukiriza ekigambo kye nayogera eri Dawudi kitaawo.
13 I will dwell amongst the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.”
Era nnaabeeranga wamu n’abaana ba Isirayiri, so siryabuulira bantu bange Isirayiri.”
14 So Solomon built the house and finished it.
Sulemaani n’azimba yeekaalu n’agimala.
15 He built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar; from the floor of the house to the walls of the ceiling, he covered them on the inside with wood. He covered the floor of the house with cypress boards.
Ku bisenge eby’omunda n’assaako embaawo ez’emivule n’azikomelera okuva wansi wa yeekaalu okutuukira ddala ku kasolya, era ne wansi wa yeekaalu n’ayaliirirawo embaawo ez’emiberosi.
16 He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.
N’ayawuzaamu emabega wa yeekaalu, n’akolawo ekifo mu yeekaalu ekyenkana mita mwenda, nga ky’ekisenge awaayimirirwanga okwogera, eky’awatukuvu ennyo, ng’akozesa embaawo ez’emivule okuva wansi okutuuka ku kasolya.
17 In front of the temple sanctuary was forty cubits long.
Ekisenge ekinene ddala ekyali mu maaso g’ekisenge, awaayimirirwanga okwogera waali obuwanvu mita kkumi na munaana.
18 There was cedar on the house within, carved with buds and open flowers. All was cedar. No stone was visible.
Ne munda wa yeekaalu mwali mwaliriddwamu emivule egyayolebwako entaabwa n’ebimuli ebyanjulukuse. Byonna byali bya mivule; tewaali jjinja eryalabika.
19 He prepared an inner sanctuary in the middle of the house within, to set the ark of the LORD’s covenant there.
N’ateekateeka ekisenge eky’omunda ddala okumpi n’awaayimirirwanga okwogera mu yeekaalu, okuteekamu essanduuko ey’endagaano ya Mukama.
20 Within the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in its height. He overlaid it with pure gold. He covered the altar with cedar.
Era munda awaayimirirwanga okwogera mwalimu ebbanga erya mita mwenda obuwanvu, ne mita mwenda obugazi, ne mita mwenda obugulumivu. Munda mwonna n’asiigamu zaabu ennongoose, era n’akola n’ekyoto n’akisabika n’emivule.
21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold. He drew chains of gold across before the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold.
Sulemaani n’asabika munda wa yeekaalu ne zaabu ennongoose, n’ayongerako n’enjegere eza zaabu mu maaso g’omu kisenge eky’omunda ekyali kibikiddwako zaabu.
22 He overlaid the whole house with gold, until all the house was finished. He also overlaid the whole altar that belonged to the inner sanctuary with gold.
Munda wa yeekaalu mwonna, n’assaamu zaabu, ne ku kyoto eky’omu kisenge awaayimirirwanga okwogera n’asiigako zaabu.
23 In the inner sanctuary he made two cherubim of olive wood, each ten cubits high.
Mu kisenge awaayimirirwanga okwogera n’akolawo bakerubi babiri ab’emiti egy’emizeeyituuni, buli kerubi obugulumivu bwe mita nnya n’ekitundu.
24 Five cubits was the length of one wing of the cherub, and five cubits was the length of the other wing of the cherub. From the tip of one wing to the tip of the other was ten cubits.
Obuwanvu bw’ekiwaawaatiro ekimu ekya kerubi omu bwali mita bbiri n’obutundu busatu, n’ekiwaawaatiro ekyokubiri mita bbiri n’obutundu busatu, ze mita nnya n’ekitundu okuva ku luuyi olumu olw’ekiwaawaatiro ekimu okutuuka ku luuyi olw’ekiwaawaatiro ekyokubiri.
25 The other cherub was ten cubits. Both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.
Kerubi owookubiri naye yali mita nnya n’ekitundu, era bakerubi bombi baali ekigero kye kimu n’endabika yaabwe nga y’emu.
26 One cherub was ten cubits high, and so was the other cherub.
Obugulumivu bwa buli kerubi bwali mita nnya n’ekitundu.
27 He set the cherubim within the inner house. The wings of the cherubim were stretched out, so that the wing of the one touched the one wall and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the middle of the house.
N’ateeka bakerubi mu kisenge eky’omunda ddala mu yeekaalu, ng’ebiwaawaatiro byabwe byanjuluzibbwa. Ekiwaawaatiro ekya kerubi omu ne kikwata ku kisenge eruuyi, n’ekiwaawaatiro ekya kerubi omulala ne kikwata ku kisenge ekirala eruuyi, ebiwaawaatiro byabwe ne bikwatagana wakati wa yeekaalu.
28 He overlaid the cherubim with gold.
Bakerubi n’abasiigako zaabu.
29 He carved all the walls of the house around with carved figures of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, inside and outside.
Ku bisenge byonna ebya yeekaalu okwetooloola, mu bisenge eby’omunda, ne mu bisenge eby’ebweru, n’akola ebifaananyi ebyole ebya bakerubi, n’enkindu, n’ebimuli ebyanjulukuse.
30 He overlaid the floor of the house with gold, inside and outside.
Ne wansi mu bisenge eby’omunda n’eby’ebweru ebya yeekaalu n’assaamu zaabu.
31 For the entrance of the inner sanctuary, he made doors of olive wood. The lintel and door posts were a fifth part of the wall.
Awayingirirwa mu kifo awaayimirirwanga okwogera, waali wawaniriddwa emifuubeeto n’empagi ez’enzigi, omulyango nga gwa nsonda ttaano.
32 So he made two doors of olive wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers, and overlaid them with gold. He spread the gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.
Ku nzigi zombi ez’emiti egy’emizeeyituuni n’akubako ebifaananyi ebyole ebya bakerubi, n’enkindu, n’ebimuli ebyanjulukuse, bakerubi n’enkindu n’abisiiga zaabu.
33 He also made the entrance of the temple door posts of olive wood, out of a fourth part of the wall,
Mu ngeri y’emu n’akola omulyango oguyingira mu kisenge ekinene ddala, n’ateekawo emifuubeeto egy’emizeeyituuni, omulyango nga gwa nsonda nnya.
34 and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.
N’akola n’enzigi bbiri za miberosi, buli luggi nga lulina embaawo bbiri ezakyukiranga mu myango.
35 He carved cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers; and he overlaid them with gold fitted on the engraved work.
Ku zo n’ayolako ebifaananyi ebya bakerubi, n’enkindu n’ebimuli ebyanjulukuse, n’abisiiga zaabu ensanuuse.
36 He built the inner court with three courses of cut stone and a course of cedar beams.
N’azimba oluggya olw’omunda n’embu ssatu ez’amayinja amateme obulungi, n’olubu olw’emiti egy’emivule.
37 The foundation of the LORD’s house was laid in the fourth year, in the month Ziv.
Awo mu mwaka ogwokuna, mu mwezi Zivu omusingi gwa yeekaalu ya Mukama ne gumalirizibwa.
38 In the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, the house was finished throughout all its parts and according to all its specifications. So he spent seven years building it.
Mu mwaka ogw’ekkumi n’ogumu mu mwezi Buli, gwe mwezi ogw’omunaana, ebitundu byonna ebya yeekaalu ne bimalirizibwa ng’ebigero byabyo bwe byali. Yamala emyaka musanvu ng’agizimba.
