1 Chronicles 4
1 The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.
Die Söhne Judas waren: Perez, Hezron, Kelubai, Hur und Sobal.
2 Reaiah the son of Shobal became the father of Jahath; and Jahath became the father of Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.
Reaja aber, der Sohn Sobals, erzeugte Jahath; Jahath erzeugte Ahumai und Lahad. Das sind die Geschlechter der Zoreathiter.
3 These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash. The name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.
Und dies sind die Söhne Etams: Jesreel, Jisma, Jidhas; und ihre Schwester hieß Hazelelponi.
4 Penuel was the father of Gedor and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
Ferner Penuel, der Vater Gedors, und Eser, der Vater Husas. Das sind die Söhne Hurs, des Erstgeborenen von Ephratha, dem Vater Bethlehems.
5 Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.
Ashur aber, der Vater von Thekoa, hatte zwei Weiber: Helea und Naera.
6 Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.
Und Naera gebar ihm Ahussam, Hepher, Themni und die Ahasthariter. das sind die Söhne Naeras.
7 The sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.
Und die Söhne Heleas waren: Zereth, Jizhar und Ethnan.
8 Hakkoz became the father of Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.
Koz aber erzeugte Anub, Hazobeba und die Geschlechter Aharhels, des Sohnes Harums.
9 Jabez was more honourable than his brothers. His mother named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him with sorrow.”
Jaebez aber war vornehmer als seine Brüder; und seine Mutter nannte ihn Jaebez, indem sie sprach: Ich habe ihn mit Schmerzen geboren.
10 Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.
Und Jaebez rief zum Gott Israels und sprach: Wenn du mich segnest, und mein Gebiet erweiterst, und deine Hand mit mir ist, und wenn du sorgst, daß Unheil fern bleibt, so daß mich kein Schmerz trifft, ...Und Gott ließ seine Bitte in Erfüllung gehen.
11 Chelub the brother of Shuhah became the father of Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
Kelub aber, der Bruder Suhas, erzeugte Mehir; das ist der Vater Esthons.
12 Eshton became the father of Beth Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir Nahash. These are the men of Recah.
Esthon aber erzeugte Beth-Rapha, Paseah und Thehinna, den Vater der Stadt Nahas; das sind die Männer von Recha.
13 The sons of Kenaz: Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel: Hathath.
Und die Söhne Kenas waren: Othniel und Seraja, und die Söhne Othniels: Hathad.
14 Meonothai became the father of Ophrah: and Seraiah became the father of Joab the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.
Meonothai aber erzeugte Ophra, und Seraja erzeugte Joab, den Vater des Zimmererthals; denn sie waren Zimmerleute.
15 The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah: Kenaz.
Die Söhne Kalebs aber, des Sohnes Jephunnes, waren Ir und Ela und Naam, und die Söhne Elas und Kenas'.
16 The sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.
Die Söhne Jehalelels waren Siph, Sipha, Thirja und Asareel.
17 The sons of Ezrah: Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon; and Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.
Und die Söhne Esras waren Jeter, Mered, Epher und Jalon. Und dies sind die Söhne Bitjas, der Tochter des Pharao, die Mered heiratete: sie gebar Mirjam, Sammai und Jisbah, den Vater Esthemoas.
18 His wife Yehudiyah bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. These are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19 The sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.
Und die Söhne des Weibes Hodijas, der Schwester Nahams, waren: der Vater von Kegila, der Garmiter, und Esthemoa, Maachathiter.
20 The sons of Shimon: Amnon, Rinnah, Ben Hanan, and Tilon. The sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben Zoheth.

21 The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;
Die Söhne Selas, des Sohnes Judas, waren: Her, der Vater Lechas, Laeda, der Vater Maresas, und die Geschlechter der Baumwollen-Arbeiter von Beth-Asbea;
22 and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. These records are ancient.
ferner Jokim und die Männer von Koseba und Joas und Saraph, welche Moab eroberten; und sie kehrten nach Bethlehem zurück. Doch das sind alte Geschichten.
23 These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah; they lived there with the king for his work.
Sie waren Töpfer und bewohnten Netaim und Gedera; bei dem König, in seinem Dienste, wohnten sie daselbst.
24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
Die Söhne Simeons waren: Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Serah, Saul,
25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.
dessen Sohn war Sallum, dessen Sohn Mibsam, dessen Sohn Misma.
26 The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
Die Söhne Mismas waren: sein Sohn Hammuel, dessen Sohn Sakkur, dessen Sohn Simei.
27 Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers didn’t have many children, and all their family didn’t multiply like the children of Judah.
Simei aber hatte sechzehn Söhne und sechs Töchter, während seine Brüder nicht viele Kinder hatten, und ihr Geschlecht vermehrte sich nicht so, daß sie die Zahl der Judäer erreicht hätten.
28 They lived at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazarshual,
Sie wohnten aber in Beerseba, Molada, Hazar-Sual,
29 at Bilhah, at Ezem, at Tolad,
Bilha, Ezem, Tholad,
30 at Bethuel, at Hormah, at Ziklag,
Bethuel, Horma, Ziklag,
31 at Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, at Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until David’s reign.
Beth Markaboth, Hasar-Susim, Beth-Birei und Saaraim. Das waren ihre Ortschaften bis zu der Zeit, wo David regierte.
32 Their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan, five cities;

33 and all their villages that were around the same cities, as far as Baal. These were their settlements, and they kept their genealogy.
dazu alle ihre Dörfer, die rings um die genannten Ortschaften lagen, bis nach Baal hin. Das waren ihre Wohnsitze, und sie hatten ihr eigenes Geschlechtsregister.
34 Meshobab, Jamlech, Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35 Joel, Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
Joel, Jehu, der Sohn Josibjas, des Sohnes Serajas, des Sohnes Asiels,
36 Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaiah,

37 and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah—

38 these mentioned by name were princes in their families. Their fathers’ houses increased greatly.
Diese hier mit Namen aufgeführten waren Fürsten in ihren Geschlechtern, und ihre Familien hatten sich mächtig ausgebreitet.
39 They went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
Und sie zogen bis da, wo es nach Gedor hineingeht, bis östlich vom Thale, um für ihre Herden Weideplätze zu suchen.
40 They found rich, good pasture, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful, for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.
Und sie fanden fette und gute Weide, und das Land war geräumig, ruhig und friedlich; denn die vorher dort gewohnt hatten, gehörten zu den Hamiten.
41 These written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and struck their tents and the Meunim who were found there; and they destroyed them utterly to this day, and lived in their place, because there was pasture there for their flocks.
Da kamen die oben mit Namen Verzeichneten zur Zeit Hiskias, des Königs von Juda, zerstörten ihre Zelte und schlugen die Meuniter, die sich dort befanden, und vollstreckten den Bann an ihnen, bis auf den heutigen Tag, und wohnten an ihrer Statt; denn es gab dort Weideplätze für ihre Herden.
42 Some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to Mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
Und ein Teil von ihnen, den Simeoniten, zog auf das Gebirge Seir - fünfhundert Mann; an ihrer Spitze Pelatja, Nearja, Rephaja und Ussiel, die Söhne Jiseis.
43 They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.
Und sie erschlugen die letzten Überreste der Amalekiter und blieben dort wohnen bis auf den heutigen Tag.
