< Proverbs 11 >
1 A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.
Minzaani eteri ya mazima ya muzizo eri Mukama, naye ebipimo ebituufu bye bimusanyusa.
2 When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
Amalala bwe gajja, ng’obuswavu butuuse, naye obwetoowaze buleeta amagezi.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
Obwesimbu bw’abatuukirivu bubaluŋŋamya, naye enkwe z’abatali beesigwa zibazikirizisa.
4 Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
Obugagga tebugasa ku lunaku olw’okusalirwako omusango, naye obutuukirivu buwonya okufa.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Obutuukirivu bw’abalongoofu bubatambuliza mu kkubo eggolokofu naye abakozi b’ebibi bagwa olw’ebikolwa byabwe ebibi.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
Obutuukirivu bw’abagolokofu bubawonya, naye abatali beesigwa bagwa mu mutego olw’okwegomba ebibi.
7 When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
Omukozi w’ebibi bw’afa, essuubi lye libula, ne byonna bye yasuubira mu maanyi bikoma.
8 A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
Omutuukirivu aggyibwa mu mitawaana, naye jjijjira omukozi w’ebibi.
9 With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
Akamwa k’oyo atatya Katonda, kazikiriza muliraanwa, naye olw’okumanya, abatuukirivu bawona.
10 When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Abatuukirivu bwe bakulaakulana ekibuga kijaguza; abakozi b’ebibi bwe bazikirira wawulirwawo amaloboozi ag’essanyu.
11 By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
Omukisa gw’abatuukirivu gukulaakulanya ekibuga: naye olw’akamwa k’abakozi b’ebibi, ekibuga kizikirizibwa.
12 One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
Omuntu atalina magezi anyooma muliraanwa we, naye omuntu ategeera akuuma olulimi lwe.
13 One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
Aseetula olugambo atta obwesigwa, naye omuntu omwesigwa akuuma ekyama.
14 Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
Awatali kuluŋŋamizibwa eggwanga lidobonkana, naye abawi b’amagezi abangi baleeta obuwanguzi.
15 He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
Eyeeyimirira omuntu gw’atamanyiko alibonaabona, naye oyo akyawa okweyimirira aliba bulungi.
16 A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
Omukazi ow’ekisa aweebwa ekitiibwa, naye abasajja ab’amawaggali bakoma ku bugagga bwokka.
17 The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
Omusajja alina ekisa aganyulwa, naye alina ettima yeereetako akabi.
18 Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
Omukozi w’ebibi afuna empeera ey’obukuusa, naye oyo asiga eby’obutuukirivu akungula empeera eya nnama ddala.
19 He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
Omuntu omutuukirivu ddala alifuna obulamu, naye oyo akola ebitali bya butuukirivu alifa.
20 Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
Mukama akyawa abantu abalina emitima emikyamu, naye ab’amakubo amagolokofu be bamusanyusa.
21 Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
Mutegeerere ddala ng’abakozi b’ebibi tebalirema kubonerezebwa, naye bazzukulu b’abatuukirivu tebalibaako musango.
22 Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
Ng’empeta ya zaabu mu nnyindo y’embizzi, bw’atyo bw’abeera omukazi omulungi atalaba njawulo wakati w’ekirungi n’ekibi.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
Abatuukirivu bye beegomba bivaamu birungi byereere, naye abakozi b’ebibi bye bakola bisunguwaza.
24 There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
Omuntu agaba obuteerekereza, yeeyongera bweyongezi kugaggawala; naye akwatirira kye yandigabye, yeeyongera kwavuwala.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
Omuntu agaba anagaggawalanga, n’oyo ayamba talibulako amuyamba.
26 People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
Abantu bakolimira oyo akweka eŋŋaano mu kiseera eky’obwetaavu, naye oyo agitunda mu kiseera ekyo afuna emikisa.
27 He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
Oyo anyiikira okukola obulungi afuna okuganja, naye oyo anoonya ekibi, kimujjira.
28 He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
Oyo eyeesiga obugagga bwe aligwa, naye abatuukirivu banaakulaakulananga ne baba ng’amalagala amalamu.
29 He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Omuntu aleeta emitawaana mu maka g’ewaabwe, alisikira mpewo; era n’omusirusiru aliba muddu w’oyo alina omutima ogw’amagezi.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
Ekibala ky’omutuukirivu muti gwa bulamu, era n’oyo asikiriza emyoyo gy’abantu ne balokoka wa magezi.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
Obanga omutuukirivu alifuna ekimusaanidde ku nsi kuno, oyo atatya Katonda n’omwonoonyi balirema obutafuna ekibasaanidde?
