Matthew 2
1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying,
อนนฺตรํ เหโรทฺ สํชฺญเก ราชฺญิ ราชฺยํ ศาสติ ยิหูทียเทศสฺย ไพเตฺลหมิ นคเร ยีเศา ชาตวติ จ, กติปยา โชฺยติรฺวฺวุท: ปูรฺวฺวสฺยา ทิโศ ยิรูศาลมฺนครํ สเมตฺย กถยมาสุ: ,
2 “Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.”
โย ยิหูทียานำ ราชา ชาตวานฺ, ส กุตฺราเสฺต? วยํ ปูรฺวฺวสฺยำ ทิศิ ติษฺฐนฺตสฺตทียำ ตารกามฺ อปศฺยาม ตสฺมาตฺ ตํ ปฺรณนฺตุมฺ อคมามฯ
3 When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
ตทา เหโรทฺ ราชา กถาเมตำ นิศมฺย ยิรูศาลมฺนครสฺถิไต: สรฺวฺวมานไว: สารฺทฺธมฺ อุทฺวิชฺย
4 Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.
สรฺวฺวานฺ ปฺรธานยาชกานฺ อธฺยาปกำศฺจ สมาหูยานีย ปปฺรจฺฉ, ขฺรีษฺฏ: กุตฺร ชนิษฺยเต?
5 They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,
ตทา เต กถยามาสุ: , ยิหูทียเทศสฺย ไพเตฺลหมิ นคเร, ยโต ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินา อิตฺถํ ลิขิตมาเสฺต,
6 ‘You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah; for out of you shall come a governor who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”
สรฺวฺวาโภฺย ราชธานีโภฺย ยิหูทียสฺย นีวฺฤต: ฯ เห ยีหูทียเทศเสฺย ไพเตฺลหมฺ ตฺวํ น จาวราฯ อิสฺราเยลียโลกานฺ เม ยโต ย: ปาลยิษฺยติฯ ตาทฺฤเคโก มหาราชสฺตฺวนฺมธฺย อุทฺภวิษฺยตี๚
7 Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.
ตทานีํ เหโรทฺ ราชา ตานฺ โชฺยติรฺวฺวิโท โคปนมฺ อาหูย สา ตารกา กทา ทฺฤษฺฏาภวตฺ, ตทฺ วินิศฺจยามาสฯ
8 He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”
อปรํ ตานฺ ไพเตฺลหมํ ปฺรหีตฺย คทิตวานฺ, ยูยํ ยาต, ยตฺนาตฺ ตํ ศิศุมฺ อนฺวิษฺย ตทุทฺเทเศ ปฺราปฺเต มหฺยํ วารฺตฺตำ ทาสฺยถ, ตโต มยาปิ คตฺวา ส ปฺรณํสฺยเตฯ
9 They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them until it came and stood over where the young child was.
ตทานีํ ราชฺญ เอตาทฺฤศีมฺ อาชฺญำ ปฺราปฺย เต ปฺรตสฺถิเร, ตต: ปูรฺวฺวรฺสฺยำ ทิศิ สฺถิไตไสฺต รฺยา ตารกา ทฺฤษฺฏา สา ตารกา เตษามเคฺร คตฺวา ยตฺร สฺถาเน ศิศูราเสฺต, ตสฺย สฺถานโสฺยปริ สฺถคิตา ตเสฺยาฯ
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
ตทฺ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา เต มหานนฺทิตา พภูวุ: ,
11 They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
ตโต เคหมธฺย ปฺรวิศฺย ตสฺย มาตฺรา มริยมา สาทฺธํ ตํ ศิศุํ นิรีกฺษย ทณฺฑวทฺ ภูตฺวา ปฺรเณมุ: , อปรํ เสฺวษำ ฆนสมฺปตฺตึ โมจยิตฺวา สุวรฺณํ กุนฺทุรุํ คนฺธรมญฺจ ตไสฺม ทรฺศนียํ ทตฺตวนฺต: ฯ
12 Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.
ปศฺจาทฺ เหโรทฺ ราชสฺย สมีปํ ปุนรปิ คนฺตุํ สฺวปฺน อีศฺวเรณ นิษิทฺธา: สนฺโต 'เนฺยน ปถา เต นิชเทศํ ปฺรติ ปฺรตสฺถิเรฯ
13 Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”
อนนฺตรํ เตษุ คตวตฺมุ ปรเมศฺวรสฺย ทูโต ยูษเผ สฺวปฺเน ทรฺศนํ ทตฺวา ชคาท, ตฺวมฺ อุตฺถาย ศิศุํ ตนฺมาตรญฺจ คฺฤหีตฺวา มิสรฺเทศํ ปลายสฺว, อปรํ ยาวทหํ ตุภฺยํ วารฺตฺตำ น กถยิษฺยามิ, ตาวตฺ ตไตฺรว นิวส, ยโต ราชา เหโรทฺ ศิศุํ นาศยิตุํ มฺฤคยิษฺยเตฯ
14 He arose and took the young child and his mother by night and departed into Egypt,
ตทานีํ ยูษผฺ อุตฺถาย รชนฺยำ ศิศุํ ตนฺมาตรญฺจ คฺฤหีตฺวา มิสรฺเทศํ ปฺรติ ปฺรตเสฺถ,
15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
คตฺวา จ เหโรโท นฺฤปเต รฺมรณปรฺยฺยนฺตํ ตตฺร เทเศ นฺยุวาส, เตน มิสรฺเทศาทหํ ปุตฺรํ สฺวกียํ สมุปาหูยมฺฯ ยเทตทฺวจนมฺ อีศฺวเรณ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทินา กถิตํ ตตฺ สผลมภูตฺฯ
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.
อนนฺตรํ เหโรทฺ โชฺยติรฺวิทฺภิราตฺมานํ ปฺรวญฺจิตํ วิชฺญาย ภฺฤศํ จุโกป; อปรํ โชฺยติรฺวฺวิทฺภฺยเสฺตน วินิศฺจิตํ ยทฺ ทินํ ตทฺทินาทฺ คณยิตฺวา ทฺวิตียวตฺสรํ ปฺรวิษฺฏา ยาวนฺโต พาลกา อสฺมินฺ ไพเตฺลหมฺนคเร ตตฺสีมมเธฺย จาสนฺ, โลกานฺ ปฺรหิตฺย ตานฺ สรฺวฺวานฺ ฆาตยามาสฯ
17 Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,
อต: อเนกสฺย วิลาปสฺย นินาท: กฺรนฺทนสฺย จฯ โศเกน กฺฤตศพฺทศฺจ รามายำ สํนิศมฺยเตฯ สฺวพาลคณเหโตไรฺว ราเหลฺ นารี ตุ โรทินีฯ น มนฺยเต ปฺรโพธนฺตุ ยตเสฺต ไนว มนฺติ หิ๚
18 “A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; she wouldn’t be comforted, because they are no more.”
ยเทตทฺ วจนํ ยิรีมิยนามกภวิษฺยทฺวาทินา กถิตํ ตตฺ ตทานีํ สผลมฺ อภูตฺฯ
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying,
ตทนนฺตรํ เหเรทิ ราชนิ มฺฤเต ปรเมศฺวรสฺย ทูโต มิสรฺเทเศ สฺวปฺเน ทรฺศนํ ทตฺตฺวา ยูษเผ กถิตวานฺ
20 “Arise and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel, for those who sought the young child’s life are dead.”
ตฺวมฺ อุตฺถาย ศิศุํ ตนฺมาตรญฺจ คฺฤหีตฺวา ปุนรปีสฺราเยโล เทศํ ยาหี, เย ชนา: ศิศุํ นาศยิตุมฺ อมฺฤคยนฺต, เต มฺฤตวนฺต: ฯ
21 He arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
ตทานีํ ส อุตฺถาย ศิศุํ ตนฺมาตรญฺจ คฺฤหฺลนฺ อิสฺราเยลฺเทศมฺ อาชคามฯ
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judea in the place of his father, Herod, he was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he withdrew into the region of Galilee,
กินฺตุ ยิหูทียเทเศ อรฺขิลายนาม ราชกุมาโร นิชปิตุ เรฺหโรท: ปทํ ปฺราปฺย ราชตฺวํ กโรตีติ นิศมฺย ตตฺ สฺถานํ ยาตุํ ศงฺกิตวานฺ, ปศฺจาตฺ สฺวปฺน อีศฺวราตฺ ปฺรโพธํ ปฺราปฺย คาลีลฺเทศสฺย ปฺรเทไศกํ ปฺรสฺถาย นาสรนฺนาม นครํ คตฺวา ตตฺร นฺยุษิตวานฺ,
23 and came and lived in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets that he will be called a Nazarene.
เตน ตํ นาสรตียํ กถยิษฺยนฺติ, ยเทตทฺวากฺยํ ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิภิรุกฺตฺตํ ตตฺ สผลมภวตฺฯ
