Luke 6
1 Now on the second Sabbath after the first, he was going through the grain fields. His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate, rubbing them in their hands.
அசரஞ்ச பர்வ்வணோ த்³விதீயதி³நாத் பரம்’ ப்ரத²மவிஸ்²ராமவாரே ஸ²ஸ்யக்ஷேத்ரேண யீஸோ²ர்க³மநகாலே தஸ்ய ஸி²ஷ்யா: கணிஸ²ம்’ சி²த்த்வா கரேஷு மர்த்³த³யித்வா கா²தி³துமாரேபி⁴ரே|
2 But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why do you do that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath day?”
தஸ்மாத் கியந்த: பி²ரூஸி²நஸ்தாநவத³ந் விஸ்²ராமவாரே யத் கர்ம்ம ந கர்த்தவ்யம்’ தத் குத: குருத²?
3 Jesus, answering them, said, “Haven’t you read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him,
யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யுவாச தா³யூத்³ தஸ்ய ஸங்கி³நஸ்²ச க்ஷுதா⁴ர்த்தா: கிம்’ சக்ரு: ஸ கத²ம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய மந்தி³ரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய
4 how he entered into God’s house, and took and ate the show bread, and gave also to those who were with him, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests alone?”
யே த³ர்ஸ²நீயா: பூபா யாஜகாந் விநாந்யஸ்ய கஸ்யாப்யபோ⁴ஜநீயாஸ்தாநாநீய ஸ்வயம்’ பு³ப⁴ஜே ஸங்கி³ப்⁴யோபி த³தௌ³ தத் கிம்’ யுஷ்மாபி⁴: கதா³பி நாபாடி²?
5 He said to them, “The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”
பஸ்²சாத் ஸ தாநவத³த் மநுஜஸுதோ விஸ்²ராமவாரஸ்யாபி ப்ரபு⁴ ர்ப⁴வதி|
6 It also happened on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught. There was a man there, and his right hand was withered.
அநந்தரம் அந்யவிஸ்²ராமவாரே ஸ ப⁴ஜநகே³ஹம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய ஸமுபதி³ஸ²தி| ததா³ தத்ஸ்தா²நே ஸு²ஷ்கத³க்ஷிணகர ஏக: புமாந் உபதஸ்தி²வாந்|
7 The scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against him.
தஸ்மாத்³ அத்⁴யாபகா: பி²ரூஸி²நஸ்²ச தஸ்மிந் தோ³ஷமாரோபயிதும்’ ஸ விஸ்²ராமவாரே தஸ்ய ஸ்வாஸ்த்²யம்’ கரோதி நவேதி ப்ரதீக்ஷிதுமாரேபி⁴ரே|
8 But he knew their thoughts; and he said to the man who had the withered hand, “Rise up and stand in the middle.” He arose and stood.
ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தேஷாம்’ சிந்தாம்’ விதி³த்வா தம்’ ஸு²ஷ்ககரம்’ புமாம்’ஸம்’ ப்ரோவாச, த்வமுத்தா²ய மத்⁴யஸ்தா²நே திஷ்ட²|
9 Then Jesus said to them, “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm? To save a life, or to kill?”
தஸ்மாத் தஸ்மிந் உத்தி²தவதி யீஸு²ஸ்தாந் வ்யாஜஹார, யுஷ்மாந் இமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ப்ரு’ச்சா²மி, விஸ்²ராமவாரே ஹிதம் அஹிதம்’ வா, ப்ராணரக்ஷணம்’ ப்ராணநாஸ²நம்’ வா, ஏதேஷாம்’ கிம்’ கர்ம்மகரணீயம்?
10 He looked around at them all, and said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did, and his hand was restored as sound as the other.
பஸ்²சாத் சதுர்தி³க்ஷு ஸர்வ்வாந் விலோக்ய தம்’ மாநவம்’ ப³பா⁴ஷே, நிஜகரம்’ ப்ரஸாரய; ததஸ்தேந ததா² க்ரு’த இதரகரவத் தஸ்ய ஹஸ்த: ஸ்வஸ்தோ²ப⁴வத்|
11 But they were filled with rage, and talked with one another about what they might do to Jesus.
தஸ்மாத் தே ப்ரசண்ட³கோபாந்விதா யீஸு²ம்’ கிம்’ கரிஷ்யந்தீதி பரஸ்பரம்’ ப்ரமந்த்ரிதா: |
12 In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.
தத: பரம்’ ஸ பர்வ்வதமாருஹ்யேஸ்²வரமுத்³தி³ஸ்²ய ப்ரார்த²யமாந: க்ரு’த்ஸ்நாம்’ ராத்ரிம்’ யாபிதவாந்|
13 When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
அத² தி³நே ஸதி ஸ ஸர்வ்வாந் ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ஆஹூதவாந் தேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யே
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;
பிதரநாம்நா க்²யாத: ஸி²மோந் தஸ்ய ப்⁴ராதா ஆந்த்³ரியஸ்²ச யாகூப்³ யோஹந் ச பி²லிப் ப³ர்த²லமயஸ்²ச
15 Matthew; Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus; Simon who was called the Zealot;
மதி²: தோ²மா ஆல்பீ²யஸ்ய புத்ரோ யாகூப்³ ஜ்வலந்தநாம்நா க்²யாத: ஸி²மோந்
16 Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
ச யாகூபோ³ ப்⁴ராதா யிஹூதா³ஸ்²ச தம்’ ய: பரகரேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதி ஸ ஈஷ்கரீயோதீயயிஹூதா³ஸ்²சைதாந் த்³வாத³ஸ² ஜநாந் மநோநீதாந் க்ரு’த்வா ஸ ஜக்³ராஹ ததா² ப்ரேரித இதி தேஷாம்’ நாம சகார|
17 He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases,
தத: பரம்’ ஸ தை: ஸஹ பர்வ்வதாத³வருஹ்ய உபத்யகாயாம்’ தஸ்தௌ² ததஸ்தஸ்ய ஸி²ஷ்யஸங்கோ⁴ யிஹூதா³தே³ஸா²த்³ யிரூஸா²லமஸ்²ச ஸோர: ஸீதோ³நஸ்²ச ஜலதே⁴ ரோத⁴ஸோ ஜநநிஹாஸ்²ச ஏத்ய தஸ்ய கதா²ஸ்²ரவணார்த²ம்’ ரோக³முக்த்யர்த²ஞ்ச தஸ்ய ஸமீபே தஸ்து²: |
18 as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits; and they were being healed.
அமேத்⁴யபூ⁴தக்³ரஸ்தாஸ்²ச தந்நிகடமாக³த்ய ஸ்வாஸ்த்²யம்’ ப்ராபு: |
19 All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.
ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ ஸ்வாஸ்த்²யகரணப்ரபா⁴வஸ்ய ப்ரகாஸி²தத்வாத் ஸர்வ்வே லோகா ஏத்ய தம்’ ஸ்ப்ரஷ்டும்’ யேதிரே|
20 He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for God’s Kingdom is yours.
பஸ்²சாத் ஸ ஸி²ஷ்யாந் ப்ரதி த்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ குத்வா ஜகா³த³, ஹே த³ரித்³ரா யூயம்’ த⁴ந்யா யத ஈஸ்²வரீயே ராஜ்யே வோ(அ)தி⁴காரோஸ்தி|
21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
ஹே அது⁴நா க்ஷுதி⁴தலோகா யூயம்’ த⁴ந்யா யதோ யூயம்’ தர்ப்ஸ்யத²; ஹே இஹ ரோதி³நோ ஜநா யூயம்’ த⁴ந்யா யதோ யூயம்’ ஹஸிஷ்யத²|
22 Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
யதா³ லோகா மநுஷ்யஸூநோ ர்நாமஹேதோ ர்யுஷ்மாந் ரு’தீயிஷ்யந்தே ப்ரு’த²க் க்ரு’த்வா நிந்தி³ஷ்யந்தி, அத⁴மாநிவ யுஷ்மாந் ஸ்வஸமீபாத்³ தூ³ரீகரிஷ்யந்தி ச ததா³ யூயம்’ த⁴ந்யா: |
23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.
ஸ்வர்கே³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ யதே²ஷ்டம்’ ப²லம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி, ஏதத³ர்த²ம்’ தஸ்மிந் தி³நே ப்ரோல்லஸத ஆநந்தே³ந ந்ரு’த்யத ச, தேஷாம்’ பூர்வ்வபுருஷாஸ்²ச ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³ந: ப்ரதி ததை²வ வ்யவாஹரந்|
24 “But woe to you who are rich! For you have received your consolation.
கிந்து ஹா ஹா த⁴நவந்தோ யூயம்’ ஸுக²ம்’ ப்ராப்நுத| ஹந்த பரித்ரு’ப்தா யூயம்’ க்ஷுதி⁴தா ப⁴விஷ்யத²;
25 Woe to you, you who are full now, for you will be hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
இஹ ஹஸந்தோ யூயம்’ வத யுஷ்மாபி⁴: ஸோ²சிதவ்யம்’ ரோதி³தவ்யஞ்ச|
26 Woe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.
ஸர்வ்வைலாகை ர்யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸுக்²யாதௌ க்ரு’தாயாம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ து³ர்க³தி ர்ப⁴விஷ்யதி யுஷ்மாகம்’ பூர்வ்வபுருஷா ம்ரு’ஷாப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³ந: ப்ரதி தத்³வத் க்ரு’தவந்த: |
27 “But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
ஹே ஸ்²ரோதாரோ யுஷ்மப்⁴யமஹம்’ கத²யாமி, யூயம்’ ஸ²த்ருஷு ப்ரீயத்⁴வம்’ யே ச யுஷ்மாந் த்³விஷந்தி தேஷாமபி ஹிதம்’ குருத|
28 bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
யே ச யுஷ்மாந் ஸ²பந்தி தேப்⁴ய ஆஸி²ஷம்’ த³த்த யே ச யுஷ்மாந் அவமந்யந்தே தேஷாம்’ மங்க³லம்’ ப்ரார்த²யத்⁴வம்’|
29 To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
யதி³ கஸ்²சித் தவ கபோலே சபேடாகா⁴தம்’ கரோதி தர்ஹி தம்’ ப்ரதி கபோலம் அந்யம்’ பராவர்த்த்ய ஸம்முகீ²குரு புநஸ்²ச யதி³ கஸ்²சித் தவ கா³த்ரீயவஸ்த்ரம்’ ஹரதி தர்ஹி தம்’ பரிதே⁴யவஸ்த்ரம் அபி க்³ரஹீதும்’ மா வாரய|
30 Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.
யஸ்த்வாம்’ யாசதே தஸ்மை தே³ஹி, யஸ்²ச தவ ஸம்பத்திம்’ ஹரதி தம்’ மா யாசஸ்வ|
31 “As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.
பரேப்⁴ய: ஸ்வாந் ப்ரதி யதா²சரணம் அபேக்ஷத்⁴வே பராந் ப்ரதி யூயமபி ததா²சரத|
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
யே ஜநா யுஷ்மாஸு ப்ரீயந்தே கேவலம்’ தேஷு ப்ரீயமாணேஷு யுஷ்மாகம்’ கிம்’ ப²லம்’? பாபிலோகா அபி ஸ்வேஷு ப்ரீயமாணேஷு ப்ரீயந்தே|
33 If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
யதி³ ஹிதகாரிண ஏவ ஹிதம்’ குருத² தர்ஹி யுஷ்மாகம்’ கிம்’ ப²லம்’? பாபிலோகா அபி ததா² குர்வ்வந்தி|
34 If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive back as much.
யேப்⁴ய ரு’ணபரிஸோ²த⁴ஸ்ய ப்ராப்திப்ரத்யாஸா²ஸ்தே கேவலம்’ தேஷு ரு’ணே ஸமர்பிதே யுஷ்மாகம்’ கிம்’ ப²லம்’? புந: ப்ராப்த்யாஸ²யா பாபீலோகா அபி பாபிஜநேஷு ரு’ணம் அர்பயந்தி|
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
அதோ யூயம்’ ரிபுஷ்வபி ப்ரீயத்⁴வம்’, பரஹிதம்’ குருத ச; புந: ப்ராப்த்யாஸா²ம்’ த்யக்த்வா ரு’ணமர்பயத, ததா² க்ரு’தே யுஷ்மாகம்’ மஹாப²லம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யதி, யூயஞ்ச ஸர்வ்வப்ரதா⁴நஸ்ய ஸந்தாநா இதி க்²யாதிம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யத², யதோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ பிதா க்ரு’தக்⁴நாநாம்’ து³ர்வ்டத்தாநாஞ்ச ஹிதமாசரதி|
36 “Therefore be merciful, even as your Father is also merciful.
அத ஏவ ஸ யதா² த³யாலு ர்யூயமபி தாத்³ரு’ஸா² த³யாலவோ ப⁴வத|
37 Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged. Don’t condemn, and you won’t be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
அபரஞ்ச பராந் தோ³ஷிணோ மா குருத தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ தோ³ஷீக்ரு’தா ந ப⁴விஷ்யத²; அத³ண்ட்³யாந் மா த³ண்ட³யத தஸ்மாத்³ யூயமபி த³ண்ட³ம்’ ந ப்ராப்ஸ்யத²; பரேஷாம்’ தோ³ஷாந் க்ஷமத்⁴வம்’ தஸ்மாத்³ யுஷ்மாகமபி தோ³ஷா: க்ஷமிஷ்யந்தே|
38 “Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be given to you. For with the same measure you measure it will be measured back to you.”
தா³நாநித³த்த தஸ்மாத்³ யூயம்’ தா³நாநி ப்ராப்ஸ்யத², வரஞ்ச லோகா: பரிமாணபாத்ரம்’ ப்ரத³லய்ய ஸஞ்சால்ய ப்ரோஞ்சால்ய பரிபூர்ய்ய யுஷ்மாகம்’ க்ரோடே³ஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யந்தி; யூயம்’ யேந பரிமாணேந பரிமாத² தேநைவ பரிமாணேந யுஷ்மத்க்ரு’தே பரிமாஸ்யதே|
39 He spoke a parable to them. “Can the blind guide the blind? Won’t they both fall into a pit?
அத² ஸ தேப்⁴யோ த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தகதா²மகத²யத், அந்தோ⁴ ஜந: கிமந்த⁴ம்’ பந்தா²நம்’ த³ர்ஸ²யிதும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி? தஸ்மாத்³ உபா⁴வபி கிம்’ க³ர்த்தே ந பதிஷ்யத: ?
40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
கு³ரோ: ஸி²ஷ்யோ ந ஸ்²ரேஷ்ட²: கிந்து ஸி²ஷ்யே ஸித்³தே⁴ ஸதி ஸ கு³ருதுல்யோ ப⁴விதும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி|
41 Why do you see the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?
அபரஞ்ச த்வம்’ ஸ்வசக்ஷுஷி நாஸாம் அத்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா தவ ப்⁴ராதுஸ்²சக்ஷுஷி யத்த்ரு’ணமஸ்தி ததே³வ குத: பஸ்²யமி?
42 Or how can you tell your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,’ when you yourself don’t see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother’s eye.
ஸ்வசக்ஷுஷி யா நாஸா வித்³யதே தாம் அஜ்ஞாத்வா, ப்⁴ராதஸ்தவ நேத்ராத் த்ரு’ணம்’ ப³ஹி: கரோமீதி வாக்யம்’ ப்⁴ராதரம்’ கத²ம்’ வக்தும்’ ஸ²க்நோஷி? ஹே கபடிந் பூர்வ்வம்’ ஸ்வநயநாத் நாஸாம்’ ப³ஹி: குரு ததோ ப்⁴ராதுஸ்²சக்ஷுஷஸ்த்ரு’ணம்’ ப³ஹி: கர்த்தும்’ ஸுத்³ரு’ஷ்டிம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யஸி|
43 “For there is no good tree that produces rotten fruit, nor again a rotten tree that produces good fruit.
அந்யஞ்ச உத்தமஸ்தரு: கதா³பி ப²லமநுத்தமம்’ ந ப²லதி, அநுத்தமதருஸ்²ச ப²லமுத்தமம்’ ந ப²லதி காரணாத³த: ப²லைஸ்தரவோ ஜ்ஞாயந்தே|
44 For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don’t gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.
கண்டகிபாத³பாத் கோபி உடு³ம்ப³ரப²லாநி ந பாதயதி ததா² ஸ்²ரு’கா³லகோலிவ்ரு’க்ஷாத³பி கோபி த்³ராக்ஷாப²லம்’ ந பாதயதி|
45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
தத்³வத் ஸாது⁴லோகோ(அ)ந்த: கரணரூபாத் ஸுபா⁴ண்டா³கா³ராத்³ உத்தமாநி த்³ரவ்யாணி ப³ஹி: கரோதி, து³ஷ்டோ லோகஸ்²சாந்த: கரணரூபாத் குபா⁴ண்டா³கா³ராத் குத்ஸிதாநி த்³ரவ்யாணி நிர்க³மயதி யதோ(அ)ந்த: கரணாநாம்’ பூர்ணபா⁴வாநுரூபாணி வசாம்’ஸி முகா²ந்நிர்க³ச்ச²ந்தி|
46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and don’t do the things which I say?
அபரஞ்ச மமாஜ்ஞாநுரூபம்’ நாசரித்வா குதோ மாம்’ ப்ரபோ⁴ ப்ரபோ⁴ இதி வத³த²?
47 Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words and does them, I will show you who he is like.
ய: கஸ்²சிந் மம நிகடம் ஆக³த்ய மம கதா² நிஸ²ம்ய தத³நுரூபம்’ கர்ம்ம கரோதி ஸ கஸ்ய ஸத்³ரு’ஸோ² ப⁴வதி தத³ஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் ஜ்ஞாபயாமி|
48 He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
யோ ஜநோ க³பீ⁴ரம்’ க²நித்வா பாஷாணஸ்த²லே பி⁴த்திம்’ நிர்ம்மாய ஸ்வக்³ரு’ஹம்’ ரசயதி தேந ஸஹ தஸ்யோபமா ப⁴வதி; யத ஆப்லாவிஜலமேத்ய தஸ்ய மூலே வேகே³ந வஹத³பி தத்³கே³ஹம்’ லாட³யிதும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி யதஸ்தஸ்ய பி⁴த்தி: பாஷாணோபரி திஷ்ட²தி|
49 But he who hears and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சிந் மம கதா²: ஸ்²ருத்வா தத³நுரூபம்’ நாசரதி ஸ பி⁴த்திம்’ விநா ம்ரு’து³பரி க்³ரு’ஹநிர்ம்மாத்ரா ஸமாநோ ப⁴வதி; யத ஆப்லாவிஜலமாக³த்ய வேகே³ந யதா³ வஹதி ததா³ தத்³க்³ரு’ஹம்’ பததி தஸ்ய மஹத் பதநம்’ ஜாயதே|
