Leviticus 14
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
2 “This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the priest,
Voici le rite qu'observera le lépreux le jour de sa purification. Il sera conduit au Prêtre, et le Prêtre sortira hors du camp;
3 and the priest shall go out of the camp. The priest shall examine him. Behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,
et, si l'examen du Prêtre constate que le lépreux est guéri de l'affection de la lèpre,
4 then the priest shall command them to take for him who is to be cleansed two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop.
le Prêtre ordonnera d'apporter pour celui qui doit se purifier, deux oiseaux vivants purs et du bois de cèdre et du vermillon et de l'hysope.
5 The priest shall command them to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.
Et le Prêtre ordonnera d'égorger l'un des oiseaux dans un vase de terre sur de l'eau vive.
6 As for the living bird, he shall take it, the cedar wood, the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.
Puis il prendra l'oiseau vivant et le bois de cèdre et le vermillon et l'hysope, qu'il trempera ainsi que l'oiseau vivant dans le sang de l'oiseau égorgé sur l'eau vive,
7 He shall sprinkle on him who is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird go into the open field.
et il fera sept aspersions sur celui qui se purifie de la lèpre et le purifiera, puis il lâchera l'oiseau vivant en pleine campagne.
8 “He who is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water; and he shall be clean. After that he shall come into the camp, but shall dwell outside his tent seven days.
Et celui qui se purifie lavera ses vêtements et rasera tout son poil et se baignera dans de l'eau, et il sera en état de pureté; après quoi il pourra entrer au camp, mais il devra pendant sept jours loger hors de sa tente.
9 It shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows. He shall shave off all his hair. He shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his body in water. Then he shall be clean.
Et le septième jour il rasera tout son poil, il se rasera et barbe et chevelure et sourcils, tout son poil; et il lavera ses vêtements et baignera son corps dans l'eau, et ainsi il sera pur.
10 “On the eighth day he shall take two male lambs without defect, one ewe lamb a year old without defect, three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, and one log of oil.
Et le huitième jour il apportera deux agneaux sans défaut et une brebis d'un an sans défaut avec trois dixièmes de fleur de farine, comme offrande, trempée dans l'huile, et un log d'huile.
11 The priest who cleanses him shall set the man who is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahweh, at the door of the Tent of Meeting.
Et le Prêtre purificateur présentera l'homme qui se purifie, et ces objets devant l'Éternel à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous.
12 “The priest shall take one of the male lambs, and offer him for a trespass offering, with the log of oil, and wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh.
Et le Prêtre prendra l'un des agneaux qu'il offrira avec le log d'huile comme victime pour le délit, et il les agitera en oblation agitée devant l'Éternel;
13 He shall kill the male lamb in the place where they kill the sin offering and the burnt offering, in the place of the sanctuary; for as the sin offering is the priest’s, so is the trespass offering. It is most holy.
et il égorgera l'agneau dans le lieu où l'on égorge les victimes expiatoires et les holocaustes, en lieu saint; car de même que la victime expiatoire, la victime pour le délit appartient au Prêtre: elle est très sainte.
14 The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
Et le Prêtre prendra du sang de la victime pour le délit, et il en mettra au bout de l'oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, et au pouce de sa main droite et au grand orteil de son pied droit.
15 The priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.
Et le Prêtre prendra du log d'huile, et en versera dans sa main gauche, de lui Prêtre;
16 The priest shall dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and shall sprinkle some of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahweh.
et le Prêtre trempera son doigt de droite dans l'huile qu'il aura dans la main gauche, et avec son doigt il fera sept aspersions d'huile devant l'Éternel.
17 The priest shall put some of the rest of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass offering.
Et le Prêtre mettra de l'huile qui lui reste dans la main, au bout de l'oreille droite de l'homme qui se purifie, et au pouce de sa main droite et au grand orteil de son pied droit, par-dessus le sang de la victime pour le délit.
18 The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahweh.
Et le reste de l'huile qu'il aura dans la main, le Prêtre le mettra sur la tête de l'homme qui se purifie, et le Prêtre fera la propitiation pour lui devant l'Éternel.
19 “The priest shall offer the sin offering, and make atonement for him who is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness. Afterward he shall kill the burnt offering;
Et le Prêtre fera le sacrifice expiatoire, et la propitiation pour celui qui se purifie en suite de sa souillure; après quoi il égorgera l'holocauste.
20 then the priest shall offer the burnt offering and the meal offering on the altar. The priest shall make atonement for him, and he shall be clean.
Et le Prêtre apportera sur l'Autel l'holocauste et l'offrande, et fera la propitiation afin qu'il soit pur.
21 “If he is poor, and can’t afford so much, then he shall take one male lamb for a trespass offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, and one tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering, and a log of oil;
Mais s'il est pauvre et que ses ressources ne suffisent pas, il prendra un agneau comme victime de délit, et l'offrira par agitation en propitiation pour lui, et un dixième de fleur de farine trempée d'huile, comme offrande, et un log d'huile,
22 and two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to afford; and the one shall be a sin offering, and the other a burnt offering.
et deux tourterelles, ou deux jeunes pigeons que comportent ses ressources, l'un comme victime expiatoire, l'autre comme holocauste.
23 “On the eighth day he shall bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh.
Et il apportera ces choses le huitième jour au Prêtre pour sa purification à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous devant l'Éternel.
24 The priest shall take the lamb of the trespass offering, and the log of oil, and the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before Yahweh.
Et le Prêtre prendra l'agneau, victime de délit, et le log d'huile qu'il présentera en oblation agitée devant l'Éternel.
25 He shall kill the lamb of the trespass offering. The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering and put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
Et le Prêtre égorgera l'agneau, victime de délit, et il prendra du sang de la victime de délit et en mettra au bout de l'oreille droite de celui qui se purifie, et au pouce de sa main droite et au grand orteil de son pied droit.
26 The priest shall pour some of the oil into the palm of his own left hand;
Et le Prêtre versera de l'huile dans sa main gauche, de lui Prêtre;
27 and the priest shall sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahweh.
et avec son doigt de droite, le Prêtre fera de l'huile qu'il a dans la main gauche, sept aspersions devant l'Éternel.
28 Then the priest shall put some of the oil that is in his hand on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot, on the place of the blood of the trespass offering.
Et le Prêtre mettra de l'huile qu'il a dans la main, au bout de l'oreille droite de celui qui se purifie et au pouce de sa main droite et au grand orteil de son pied droit à la place où il y a du sang de la victime de délit.
29 The rest of the oil that is in the priest’s hand he shall put on the head of him who is to be cleansed, to make atonement for him before Yahweh.
Et le reste de l'huile qu'il a dans la main, le Prêtre le mettra sur la tête de l'homme qui se purifie, afin de faire la propitiation pour lui devant l'Éternel.
30 He shall offer one of the turtledoves, or of the young pigeons, which ever he is able to afford,
Et il sacrifiera l'une des tourterelles ou l'un des jeunes pigeons que comportent ressources,
31 of the kind he is able to afford, the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, with the meal offering. The priest shall make atonement for him who is to be cleansed before Yahweh.”
ce que comportent ses ressources, l'un comme victime expiatoire, l'autre en holocauste, en même temps que l'offrande, et ainsi le Prêtre fera la propitiation pour celui, qui se purifie devant l'Éternel.
32 This is the law for him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to afford the sacrifice for his cleansing.
Tel est le rite que doit observer lors de sa purification celui qui est atteint de la lèpre et dont les ressources sont insuffisantes.
33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron et dit:
34 “When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put a spreading mildew in a house in the land of your possession,
Lorsque vous serez entrés au pays de Canaan que je vous donne en propriété, et que j'enverrai une atteinte de lèpre à une maison du pays dont vous prendrez possession,
35 then he who owns the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, ‘There seems to me to be some sort of plague in the house.’
le propriétaire de la maison viendra faire au Prêtre sa déclaration en ces termes: Je remarque comme une lèpre dans ma maison.
36 The priest shall command that they empty the house, before the priest goes in to examine the plague, that all that is in the house not be made unclean. Afterward the priest shall go in to inspect the house.
Et le Prêtre ordonnera de vider la maison avant qu'il arrive pour examiner le mal, afin que ce qui est dans la maison ne contracte pas la souillure,
37 He shall examine the plague; and behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and it appears to be deeper than the wall,
et ensuite le Prêtre entrera pour examiner la maison. Et si l'examen qu'il fera du mal constate que l'altération des parois de la maison consiste dans des cavités d'une teinte verdâtre ou rougeâtre et déprimées au-dessous du niveau de la paroi,
38 then the priest shall go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.
le Prêtre sortira de la maison dont il passera, la porte, et qu'il fermera pour sept jours.
39 The priest shall come again on the seventh day, and look. If the plague has spread in the walls of the house,
Et revenant le septième jour, s'il voit que le mal s'est étendu sur les parois de la maison,
40 then the priest shall command that they take out the stones in which is the plague, and cast them into an unclean place outside of the city.
le Prêtre ordonnera d'extraire les pierres attaquées et de les jeter hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.
41 He shall cause the inside of the house to be scraped all over. They shall pour out the mortar that they scraped off outside of the city into an unclean place.
Puis l'on raclera la maison intérieurement partout, et l'on versera le crépi qu'on aura raclé, hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.
42 They shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other mortar, and shall plaster the house.
Et l'on prendra d'autres pierres que l'on mettra à la place des pierres [extraites], et l'on prendra d'autre crépi pour en enduire la maison.
43 “If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house after he has taken out the stones, and after he has scraped the house, and after it was plastered,
Et si le mal reparaît et fait éruption dans la maison après que les pierres auront été extraites, et la maison raclée, puis recrépie,
44 then the priest shall come in and look; and behold, if the plague has spread in the house, it is a destructive mildew in the house. It is unclean.
et si le Prêtre qui reviendra voit que le mal s'est étendu dans la maison, c'est une lèpre maligne dont la maison est atteinte, elle est souillée.
45 He shall break down the house, its stones, and its timber, and all the house’s mortar. He shall carry them out of the city into an unclean place.
Alors on détruira la maison avec ses pierres, son bois et tout son crépi, et l'on portera le tout hors de la ville dans un lieu impur.
46 “Moreover he who goes into the house while it is shut up shall be unclean until the evening.
Et quiconque sera entré dans la maison pendant le temps de sa fermeture., sera jusqu'au soir en état d'impureté.
47 He who lies down in the house shall wash his clothes; and he who eats in the house shall wash his clothes.
Et quiconque aura couché dans la maison, lavera ses habits; et quiconque aura mangé dans la maison lavera ses habits.
48 “If the priest shall come in, and examine it, and behold, the plague hasn’t spread in the house, after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.
Mais si le Prêtre qui reviendra voit que le mal ne s'est pas étendu dans la maison, une fois recrépie, le Prêtre la déclarera pure, car le mal est guéri.
49 To cleanse the house he shall take two birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop.
Et pour faire l'expiation de la maison il prendra deux oiseaux et du bois de cèdre et du vermillon et de l'hysope.
50 He shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.
Et il égorgera l'un des oiseaux dans un vase de terre sur de l'eau vive,
51 He shall take the cedar wood, the hyssop, the scarlet, and the living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.
et il prendra le bois de cèdre et l'hysope et le vermillon et l'oiseau vivant, qu'il trempera dans le sang de l'oiseau égorgé et dans l'eau vive et en fera sept aspersions contre la maison,
52 He shall cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, with the living bird, with the cedar wood, with the hyssop, and with the scarlet;
et fera ainsi l'expiation de la maison avec le sang de l'oiseau et avec l'eau vive et l'oiseau vivant et le bois de cèdre et l'hysope et le vermillon,
53 but he shall let the living bird go out of the city into the open field. So shall he make atonement for the house; and it shall be clean.”
puis il lâchera l'oiseau vivant hors de la ville en pleine campagne et fera ainsi la propitiation pour la maison, afin qu'elle soit pure.
54 This is the law for any plague of leprosy, and for an itch,
Telle est la loi touchant toute espèce de lèpre, et la teigne
55 and for the destructive mildew of a garment, and for a house,
et la lèpre des habits et des maisons,
56 and for a swelling, and for a scab, and for a bright spot;
et les élevures et les dartres et les taches,
57 to teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean. This is the law of leprosy.
pour déterminer les cas d'impureté et les cas de pureté. Telle est la loi touchant la lèpre.
