Judges 10
1 After Abimelech, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel. He lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.
૧અબીમેલેખના મરણ પછી, ઇઝરાયલને ઉગારવા સારુ ઇસ્સાખારના કુળના, દોદોના દીકરા પૂઆહનો દીકરો તોલા ઊઠ્યો, તે એફ્રાઇમના પહાડી મુલકમાંના શામીરમાં રહેતો હતો.
2 He judged Israel twenty-three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
૨તેણે ત્રેવીસ વર્ષ ઇઝરાયલનો ન્યાય કર્યો. પછી તે મરણ પામ્યો અને શામીર નગરમાં દફનાવાયો.
3 After him Jair, the Gileadite, arose. He judged Israel twenty-two years.
૩તોલાના મરણ પછી ગિલ્યાદી યાઈર આગળ આવ્યો. તેણે બાવીસ વર્ષ સુધી ઇઝરાયલનો ન્યાય કર્યો.
4 He had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkey colts. They had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.
૪તેને ત્રીસ દીકરા હતા. તેઓ દરેક પાસે એક ગધેડા હતા અને તેના પર સવારી કરતા હતા, તેઓ પાસે ત્રીસ શહેરો હતાં, કે જે આજ દિવસ સુધી હાવ્વોથ યાઈર કહેવાય છે, જે ગિલ્યાદ દેશમાં છે.
5 Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.
૫યાઈર મરણ પામ્યો અને કામોન નગરમાં દફનાવાયો.
6 The children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned Yahweh, and didn’t serve him.
૬ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ઈશ્વરની દ્રષ્ટિમાં જે ખરાબ હતું તે કર્યું તેઓએ બઆલ, દેવી આશ્તારોથ, અરામના દેવો, સિદોનના દેવો, મોઆબના દેવો, આમ્મોનીઓના દેવો તથા પલિસ્તીઓના દેવોની પૂજા કરી. તેઓએ ઈશ્વરનો ત્યાગ કર્યો અને લાંબા સમય સુધી તેમની ઉપાસના કરી નહિ.
7 Yahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the children of Ammon.
૭તેથી ઈશ્વરનો કોપ ઇઝરાયલ પર સળગ્યો. તેમણે પલિસ્તીઓ તથા આમ્મોનીઓના હાથે તેઓને હરાવી દીધા.
8 They troubled and oppressed the children of Israel that year. For eighteen years they oppressed all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.
૮તેઓએ તે વર્ષે ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને હેરાન કરીને તેઓ પર જુલમ કર્યો, યર્દનને પેલે પાર અમોરીઓનો દેશ જે ગિલ્યાદમાં છે ત્યાંના ઇઝરાયલના લોકો પર તેઓએ અઢાર વર્ષ સુધી જુલમ ગુજાર્યો.
9 The children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was very distressed.
૯અને આમ્મોનીઓ યર્દન પાર કરીને યહૂદાની સામે, બિન્યામીનની સામે તથા એફ્રાઇમના ઘરનાંની સામે લડવા સારુ ગયા, જેથી ઇઝરાયલીઓ બહુ દુઃખી થયા.
10 The children of Israel cried to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.”
૧૦પછી ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ઈશ્વરને પોકાર કરીને કહ્યું, “અમે તમારી વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કર્યું છે, કેમ કે અમે અમારા ઈશ્વરને તજીને બઆલ મૂર્તિઓની પૂજા કરી છે.”
11 Yahweh said to the children of Israel, “Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?
૧૧ઈશ્વરે ઇઝરાયલના લોકોને પૂછ્યું, “શું મેં તમને મિસરીઓથી, અમોરીઓથી, આમ્મોનીઓથી તથા પલિસ્તીઓથી,
12 The Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.
૧૨અને સિદોનીઓથી પણ બચાવ્યા ન હતા? અમાલેકીઓએ તથા માઓનીઓએ તમારા પર જુલમ કર્યો અને તમે મારી આગળ પોકાર કર્યો અને મેં તમને તેઓના હાથમાંથી છોડાવ્યાં હતા.
13 Yet you have forsaken me and served other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.
૧૩તેમ છતાં તમે મારો ત્યાગ કરીને બીજા દેવોની પૂજા કરી, જેથી હું હવે પછી તમને છોડાવીશ નહિ.
14 Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen. Let them save you in the time of your distress!”
૧૪જાઓ અને તમે જે દેવોની પૂજા કરી તેઓને પોકારો. જ્યારે તમે મુશ્કેલીમાં હો ત્યારે તેઓ તમને બચાવશે.
15 The children of Israel said to Yahweh, “We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”
૧૫ઇઝરાયલના લોકોએ ઈશ્વરને કહ્યું, “અમે પાપ કર્યું છે. તમને જે સારું લાગે તે તમે અમને કરો. પણ કૃપા કરીને, હાલ અમને બચાવો.”
16 They put away the foreign gods from among them and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.
૧૬તેઓ જે વિદેશીઓના દેવોને માન આપતા હતા તેઓથી પાછા ફર્યા અને તેઓના દેવોનો ત્યાગ કરીને તેઓએ ઈશ્વરની ઉપાસના કરી. અને ઇઝરાયલના દુઃખને લીધે ઈશ્વરનો આત્મા ખિન્ન થયો.
17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. The children of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpah.
૧૭પછી આમ્મોનીઓએ એકસાથે એકઠા થઈને ગિલ્યાદમાં છાવણી કરી. અને ઇઝરાયલીઓએ એકસાથે એકઠા થઈને મિસ્પામાં છાવણી કરી.
18 The people, the princes of Gilead, said to one another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”
૧૮ગિલ્યાદના લોકોના આગેવાનોએ એકબીજાને પૂછ્યું, “આમ્મોનીઓની સામે યુદ્ધ શરૂ કરે એવો કયો માણસ છે? તે જ ગિલ્યાદમાં રહેનારાં સર્વનો આગેવાન થશે.”
