< Job 1 >
1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God, and turned away from evil.
Adda maysa a lalaki iti daga ti Huz nga agnagan iti Job; ket awan ti pakababalawan ni Job ken nalinteg isuna, maysa a tao nga addaan iti panagbuteng iti Dios ken tinallikudanna ti kinadakes.
2 There were born to him seven sons and three daughters.
Addaan isuna iti pito a putot a lallaki ken tallo a putot a babbai,
3 His possessions also were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the children of the east.
Addaan isuna iti pito a ribu a karnero, tallo a ribu a kamelyo, lima gasut a pares ti baka, ken lima gasut nga asno ken nakaad-adu nga adipen. Daytoy a lalaki ti kababaknangan iti amin a tattao iti Daya.
4 His sons went and held a feast in the house of each one on his birthday; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
Iti tunggal naituding nga aldaw dagiti tunggal putotna a lallaki, agpadaya isuna iti balayna ket mangibaonda ken paayabanda dagiti tallo a kakabsatda a babbai tapno kaduada a mangan ken uminom.
5 It was so, when the days of their feasting had run their course, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned, and renounced God in their hearts.” Job did so continually.
No malpas dagiti aldaw ti padaya, paayaban ni Job ida ket idatonna ida iti maminsan pay iti Dios. Bumangon isuna a nasapa iti bigat ket mangidatag iti daton a mapuoran amin nga agpaay iti tunggal maysa kadagiti putotna, ta kunana, “Nalabit a nagbasol dagiti putotko ket inlunodda ti Dios kadagiti pusoda.” Kankanayon nga ar-aramiden ni Job daytoy.
6 Now on the day when God’s sons came to present themselves before Yahweh, Satan also came among them.
Ket dimteng ti aldaw nga iparang dagiti annak a lallaki ti Dios dagiti bagbagida iti sangoanan ni Yahweh, ket kadduada met ni Satanas a napan.
7 Yahweh said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, “From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”
Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Satanas, “Sadino ti naggapuam?” Ket simmungbat ni Satanas kenni Yahweh, ket kinunana, “Manipud iti panagsursursor iti rabaw ti daga, ken manipud iti panagpagpagna nga agsubli-subli iti rabawna daytoy.”
8 Yahweh said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is no one like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil.”
Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Satanas, “Nakitam kadi ni Job nga adipenko? Ta awan iti kas kenkuana idiay daga, awan pakababalawanna ken nalinteg a tao, addaan iti panagbuteng iti Dios ken taltallikudanna ti dakes.”
9 Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?
Ket simmungbat ni Satanas kenni Yahweh ket kinunana, “Agbuteng kadi ni Job iti Dios nga awan iti gapgapuna?
10 Haven’t you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
Saan aya nga inaladam ti aglawlawna, ti aglawlaw ti balayna, ken ti aglawlaw iti amin nga adda kenkuana iti amin a sikigan? Binendisionam ti aramid dagiti imana, ken immadu dagiti sanikuana iti daga.
11 But stretch out your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will renounce you to your face.”
Ngem iyunnatmo ta imam ita ket rautem dagiti amin a sanikuana, ket tallikudannakanto iti rupam.”
12 Yahweh said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself don’t stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of Yahweh.
Kinuna ni Yahweh kenni Satanas, “Kitaem, amin nga adda kenkuana ket adda iti pannakabalin ta imam; saanmo nga ipatay ti imam kenkuana.” Pimmanaw ngarud ni Satanas manipud iti presensiya ni Yahweh.
13 It fell on a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
Napasamak nga iti maysa nga aldaw a dagiti putotna a lallaki ken babbai ket mangmangan ken umin-inom ti arak iti balay ti ina-una a kabsatda a lalaki,
14 that a messenger came to Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the donkeys feeding beside them,
napan ti maysa a mensahero kenni Job ket kinunana, “Agar-arado dagiti baka ken mangmangan dagiti asno iti abayda;
15 and the Sabeans attacked, and took them away. Yes, they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
dinarup ida dagiti Sabeo ket innalada dagitoy. Pudno, pinatayda dagiti adipen babaen iti tadem ti kampilan; siak laeng ti nakalibas a mangibaga kenka.”
16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
Kabayatan nga agsasao pay laeng isuna, simmangpet pay ti maysa ket kinunana, “Nagtinnag ti apuy ti Dios manipud kadagiti langit ket pinuoranna dagiti karnero ken dagiti adipen; siak laeng ti nakalibas a mangibaga kenka.”
17 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The Chaldeans made three bands, and swept down on the camels, and have taken them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
Kabayatan nga agsasao pay laeng isuna, simmangpet pay ti sabali ket kinunana, “Nagkatlo a bunggoy dagiti Caldeo, dinarupda dagiti kamelio, ket innalada dagitoy. Wen, ken pinatayda dagiti adipen babaen iti tadem ti kampilan, ket siak laeng ti nakalibas a mangibaga kenka.”
18 While he was still speaking, there came also another, and said, “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
Kabayatan nga agsasao pay laeng isuna, simmangpet pay ti sabali ket kinunana, “Mangmangan ken umin-inom ti arak dagiti putotmo a lallaki ken babbai idiay balay ti inauna a kabsatda a lalaki.
19 and behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young men, and they are dead. I alone have escaped to tell you.”
Dimteng ti napigsa nga angin manipud iti let-ang ket dinuparna ti uppat a suli ti balay, ket narba daytoy kadagiti agtutubo a lallaki, ket natayda, ket siak laeng ti nakalibas a mangibaga kenka.”
20 Then Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped.
Kalpasanna, timmakder ni Job, rinay-abna ti kagayna, kinuskusanna ti ulona, nagpakleb iti daga, ket nagdayaw iti Dios.
21 He said, “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb, and naked will I return there. Yahweh gave, and Yahweh has taken away. Blessed be Yahweh’s name.”
Kinunana, “Rimmuarak a lamulamo manipud iti aanakan ti inak, ket agsubliak sadiay a lamulamo. Inted ni Yahweh, ket innala met laeng ni Yahweh; madaydayaw koma ti nagan ni Yahweh.”
22 In all this, Job didn’t sin, nor charge God with wrongdoing.
Iti amin dagitoy a banbanag, saan a nagbasol ni Job, wenno saanna a simamamaag a pinabasol ti Dios.
