< Hosea 5 >

1 “Listen to this, you priests! Listen, house of Israel, and give ear, house of the king! For the judgment is against you; for you have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread on Tabor.
“Fanongo eni, ʻae kau taulaʻeiki; pea fakafanongo, ʻe fale ʻo ʻIsileli; pea tokanga mai ho telinga, ʻe fale ʻoe tuʻi; he ʻoku fai kiate kimoutolu ʻae fakamaau, koeʻuhi ko e tauhele ʻakimoutolu ki Misipa, pea ko e kupenga naʻe fola ʻi Tepea.
2 The rebels are deep in slaughter, but I discipline all of them.
Pea ko e kau angatuʻu ʻoku loto ke fai ʻae fakapō, neongo ko au naʻaku valokiʻi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hidden from me; for now, Ephraim, you have played the prostitute. Israel is defiled.
‌ʻOku ou ʻilo ʻa ʻIfalemi, pea ʻoku ʻikai puli ʻa ʻIsileli meiate au: he ko eni, ʻe ʻIfalemi, ʻoku ke fai feʻauaki, pea kuo ʻuliʻi ʻa ʻIsileli.
4 Their deeds won’t allow them to turn to their God, for the spirit of prostitution is within them, and they don’t know Yahweh.
‌ʻE ʻikai te nau ngaohi ʻenau anga ke liliu ki honau ʻOtua: he ko e laumālie ʻoe feʻauaki ʻoku ʻi loto ʻiate kinautolu, pea ʻoku ʻikai te nau ʻilo ʻa Sihova.
5 The pride of Israel testifies to his face. Therefore Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity. Judah also will stumble with them.
Pea ko e fielahi ʻa ʻIsileli ʻe fakatōhifo ai hono mata: ko ia ʻe tō ki lalo ʻa ʻIsileli, mo ʻIfalemi ʻi heʻenau angahala; ʻe tō foki ʻa Siuta mo kinautolu.
6 They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Yahweh, but they won’t find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.
Te nau ʻalu mo ʻenau fanga sipi mo ʻenau fanga manu ke kumi ʻa Sihova; ka ʻe ʻikai te nau ʻilo ia; kuo ne mahuʻi meiate kinautolu.
7 They are unfaithful to Yahweh; for they have borne illegitimate children. Now the new moon will devour them with their fields.
Kuo nau fai kākā kia Sihova: he kuo nau fakatupu ʻae fānau kehe: ko eni, ko e māhina pe taha, pea ʻe folo ʻakinautolu mo honau ngaahi tofiʻa.
8 “Blow the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah! Sound a battle cry at Beth Aven, behind you, Benjamin!
“Ifi ʻae meʻa ifi ʻi Kipea, pea mo e meʻalea ʻi Lama: kalanga lahi ki Peteaveni, sio ki mui koe, ʻe Penisimani.
9 Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke. Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known that which will surely be.
‌ʻE lala ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe valoki ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ʻIsileli, kuo u fakahā ʻaia ʻe hoko moʻoni.
10 The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark. I will pour out my wrath on them like water.
Ko e houʻeiki ʻo Siuta naʻe hangē ko kinautolu ʻoku hiki ʻae fakaʻilonga: ko ia te u lilingi hoku houhau kiate kinautolu, ʻo hangē ko e vai.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, he is crushed in judgment, because he is intent in his pursuit of idols.
“Kuo fakamālohi mo fesiʻi ʻa ʻIfalemi ʻi he fakamaau, koeʻuhi naʻa ne loto ke muimui ki he vaʻinga.
12 Therefore I am to Ephraim like a moth, and to the house of Judah like rottenness.
Ko ia te u hangē ko e ane kia ʻIfalemi, pea hangē ko e popo ki he fale ʻo Siuta.
13 “When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to King Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.
“ʻI he mamata ʻe ʻIfalemi ki hono mahaki, pea mo Siuta ki hono lavea, naʻa ne toki ʻalu ʻa ʻIfalemi ki he ʻAsilia, pea ne fekau ki he tuʻi ko Salepi: ka naʻe ʻikai te ne faʻa fakamoʻui koe, ke moʻui ai ho lavea.
14 For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear in pieces and go away. I will carry off, and there will be no one to deliver.
He te u hangē ko e laione ki ʻIfalemi, pea hangē ko e laione mui ki he fale ʻo Siuta: Ko au, ʻio, ko au, te u haeʻi, pea toe ʻalu; te u ʻave pea ʻe ʻikai ha tokotaha te ne fakahaofi.
15 I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”
“Te u tafoki ʻo ʻalu ki hoku potu, kaeʻoua ke nau vete ʻenau hia, pea kumi ki hoku fofonga: ʻi heʻenau ngaahi mamahi, te nau kumi fakavave kiate au.”
