< Ezekiel 26 >

1 In the eleventh year, in the first of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
Pea ʻi heʻene hoko ki hono hongofulu ma taha taʻu, ʻi he ʻuluaki ʻaho ʻoe māhina, naʻe hoko mai kiate au ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova, ʻo pehē,
2 “Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She is broken! She who was the gateway of the peoples has been returned to me. I will be replenished, now that she is laid waste;’
“Foha ʻoe tangata, koeʻuhi kuo lea pehē ʻe Taia ki Selūsalema, ‘Maʻitoʻa, kuo maumauʻi ia, ko e matanikolo naʻe kakaiʻia: kuo tafoki mai kiate au: te u maʻumeʻa au ʻi hono fakalala.’
3 therefore the Lord Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I am against you, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up.
Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua; Vakai, ʻoku ou tuʻu kiate koe, ʻE Taia, pea te u pule ke ʻalu hake kiate koe ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga lahi, ʻo hangē ko e loloma hake ʻe he tahi ʻa hono peau.
4 They will destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers. I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock.
Pea te nau maumauʻi ʻae ngaahi ʻā ʻo Taia, pea holoki hifo hono ngaahi fale leʻo māʻolunga: Te u vaku foki hono efu meiate ia, pea te u ngaohi ia ke tatau mo e funga maka pē.
5 She will be a place for the spreading of nets in the middle of the sea; for I have spoken it,’ says the Lord Yahweh. ‘She will become plunder for the nations.
‌ʻE hoko ia ko e potu tautauʻanga kupenga ʻi he loto tahi: he ko au ko Sihova ko e ʻOtua, kuo lea ki ai: pea ʻe hoko ia ko e koloa vete ki he ngaahi puleʻanga.
6 Her daughters who are in the field will be slain with the sword. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’
Pea ʻe tāmateʻi ʻaki ʻae heletā ʻa hono ngaahi ʻofefine ʻaia ʻe ʻi he ngoueʻanga: pea te nau ʻilo ko Sihova au.”
7 “For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will bring on Tyre Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, with chariots, with horsemen, and an army with many people.
He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua: “Vakai te u ʻomi ki Taia ʻa Nepukalesa ko e tuʻi ʻo Papilone, ko e tuʻi ʻi he ngaahi tuʻi, mei he tokelau, ʻe haʻu mo e hoosi, pea mo e saliote, pea mo e kau heka hoosi, mo e ngaahi matatau, mo e kakai tokolahi.
8 He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword. He will make forts against you, cast up a mound against you, and raise up the buckler against you.
Te ne tāmateʻi ʻaki ʻae heletā ʻa ho ngaahi ʻofefine ʻoku ʻi he ngoueʻanga: pea te ne ngaohi kolo kiate koe, mo tanu puke kiate koe, pea hiki hake ʻae mahafutau kiate koe.
9 He will set his battering engines against your walls, and with his axes he will break down your towers.
Pea te ne fokotuʻu ʻae nāunau ʻoe tau ki ho ngaahi ʻā, pea ʻe maumau ʻaki hono toki ʻa ho ngaahi fale leʻo māʻolunga.
10 By reason of the abundance of his horses, their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the horsemen, of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he enters into your gates, as men enter into a city which is broken open.
Pea ʻe ʻufiʻufi ʻaki koe ʻae efu ko e meʻa ʻi he tokolahi ʻo ʻene fanga hoosi: ʻe ngalulu ho ngaahi ʻā ʻi he longoaʻa ʻae kau heka hoosi mo e vaʻe saliote, mo e ngaahi saliote, ʻoka hū ia ki ho ngaahi matapā ʻo hangē ko e ʻoho ʻae kakai ki ha kolo ʻoku kapasi.
11 He will tread down all your streets with the hoofs of his horses. He will kill your people with the sword. The pillars of your strength will go down to the ground.
12 They will make a plunder of your riches and make a prey of your merchandise. They will break down your walls and destroy your pleasant houses. They will lay your stones, your timber, and your dust in the middle of the waters.
13 I will cause the noise of your songs to cease. The sound of your harps won’t be heard any more.
Pea te u ngaohi ke longo hifo ʻae leʻo ʻo hoʻo kau fasi hiva; pea ʻe ʻikai toe ongo mai ʻae tatangi ʻo hoʻo ngaahi haʻape.
14 I will make you a bare rock. You will be a place for the spreading of nets. You will be built no more; for I Yahweh have spoken it,’ says the Lord Yahweh.
Pea te u ngaohi koe ke tatau mo e funga maka: te ke hoko koe ko e potu tautauʻanga kupenga; ʻe ʻikai toe langa koe: he ko au ko Sihova, kuo u lea ki ai, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.”
15 “The Lord Yahweh says to Tyre: ‘Won’t the islands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made within you?
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua, ki Taia; “ʻIkai ʻe tetetete ʻae ngaahi motu ʻi he longoaʻa ʻo hoʻo hinga, ʻoka pā hake ʻae tangi ʻanautolu kuo teʻia, ʻoka hoko ʻae tāmateʻi ʻi loto ʻiate koe?
16 Then all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit on the ground, and will tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.
‌ʻE ʻalu hifo ai ʻae ngaahi ʻeiki ʻoe tahi, mei honau ngaahi nofoʻa fakatuʻi, pea tuku atu honau ngaahi kofu; te na kofuʻaki ʻae manavahē; te nau nofo hifo ki he kelekele, pea te nau tetetete maʻuaipē, pea nau ofo ʻaupito koeʻuhi ko koe.
17 They will take up a lamentation over you, and tell you, “How you are destroyed, who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, who was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all who lived there!”
Pea te nau fai ʻae tangilāulau koeʻuhi ko koe, ʻo pehē kiate koe, ʻOiauē ʻa ho maumauʻi, ʻa koe naʻe fakakakai ʻe he kau toutai, ʻa koe ko e kolo ongoongo, ʻaia naʻe mālohi ʻi tahi, ʻaia pea mo hono kakai, ʻa koe naʻa ke fakamanavahēʻi ʻae kakai kotoa pē ʻo māmani.
18 Now the islands will tremble in the day of your fall. Yes, the islands that are in the sea will be dismayed at your departure.’
‌ʻE tetetete ʻae ngaahi motu ʻi he ʻaho ʻe holoki ai koe; ʻio, ʻe puputuʻu ʻae ngaahi motu ʻoe tahi ko e meʻa ʻi he hiki atu koe.”
19 “For the Lord Yahweh says: ‘When I make you a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited, when I bring up the deep on you, and the great waters cover you,
20 then I will bring you down with those who descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make you dwell in the lower parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with those who go down to the pit, that you be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living.
‌ʻO kau ka fakahifo koe ki lalo fakataha mo kinautolu ʻoku ʻalu hifo ki he luo, pea mo e kakai naʻe ʻi muʻa ange, pea u tuku koe ki he potu māʻulalo ʻoe kelekele, ʻi he ngaahi potu siʻaki talu mei muʻa, ke fakataha mo kinautolu ʻoku ʻalu hifo ki he luo, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻa ke kei kakai; pea te u fokotuʻu ʻae nāunau ʻi he fonua ʻae moʻui;
21 I will make you a terror, and you will no more have any being. Though you are sought for, yet you will never be found again,’ says the Lord Yahweh.”
Te u ngaohi koe ko e meʻa fakaʻulia, pea te ke ʻikai ʻo taʻengata: neongo ha kumi kiate koe, ʻe ʻikai ʻaupito toe ʻilo koe,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua.
