Colossians 2
1 For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Porque quiero que sepáis cuán fuertemente tengo que luchar por vosotros y por los de Laodicea, y por cuantos nunca han visto mi rostro en la carne,
2 that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,
a fin de que sean consolados sus corazones, confirmados en el amor y en toda la riqueza de la plenitud de la inteligencia, de modo de llegar al conocimiento del misterio de Dios, que es Cristo,
3 in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
en quien los tesoros de la sabiduría y del conocimiento están todos escondidos.
4 Now I say this that no one may delude you with persuasiveness of speech.
Esto lo digo, para que nadie os seduzca con argumentos de apariencia lógica.
5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
Pues si bien estoy ausente con el cuerpo, sin embargo en espíritu estoy entre vosotros, gozándome al mirar vuestra armonía y la firmeza de vuestra fe en Cristo.
6 As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him,
Por tanto, tal cual aprendisteis a Cristo Jesús el Señor, así andad en Él,
7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, even as you were taught, abounding in it in thanksgiving.
arraigados en Él y edificados sobre Él, y confirmados en la fe según fuisteis enseñados, y rebosando de agradecimiento.
8 Be careful that you don’t let anyone rob you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Christ.
Mirad, pues, no haya alguno que os cautive por medio de la filosofía y de vana falacia, fundadas en la tradición de los hombres sobre los elementos del mundo, y no sobre Cristo.
9 For in him all the fullness of the Deity dwells bodily,
Porque en Él habita toda la plenitud de la Deidad corporalmente;
10 and in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.
y en Él estáis llenos vosotros, y Él es la cabeza de todo principado y potestad.
11 In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,
En Él también fuisteis circuncidados con circuncisión no hecha por mano de hombre mediante el despojo del cuerpo de la carne, sino con la circuncisión de Cristo,
12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.
habiendo sido sepultados con Él en el bautismo, donde así mismo fuisteis resucitados con Él por la fe en el poder de Dios que le resucitó de entre los muertos.
13 You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,
Y a vosotros, los que estabais muertos por los delitos y por la incircuncisión de vuestra carne, os dio vida juntamente con Él, perdonándoos todos los delitos,
14 wiping out the handwriting in ordinances which was against us. He has taken it out of the way, nailing it to the cross.
habiendo cancelado la escritura presentada contra nosotros, la cual con sus ordenanzas nos era adversa. La quitó de en medio al clavarla en la Cruz;
15 Having stripped the principalities and the powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
y despojando ( así de aquella ) a los principados y potestades denodadamente los exhibió a la infamia, triunfando sobre ellos en la Cruz.
16 Let no one therefore judge you in eating or drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,
Que nadie, pues, os juzgue por comida o bebida, o en materia de fiestas o novilunios o sábados.
17 which are a shadow of the things to come; but the body is Christ’s.
Estas cosas son sombra de las venideras, mas el cuerpo es de Cristo.
18 Let no one rob you of your prize by self-abasement and worshiping of the angels, dwelling in the things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Que nadie os defraude de vuestro premio con afectada humildad y culto de los ángeles, haciendo alarde de las cosas que pretende haber visto, vanamente hinchado por su propia inteligencia carnal,
19 and not holding firmly to the Head, from whom all the body, being supplied and knit together through the joints and ligaments, grows with God’s growth.
y no manteniéndose unido a la cabeza, de la cual todo el cuerpo, alimentado y trabado por medio de coyunturas y ligamentos, crece con crecimiento que viene de Dios.
20 If you died with Christ from the elemental spirits of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances,
Si con Cristo moristeis a los elementos del mundo ¿por qué, como si vivieseis en el mundo, os sujetáis a tales preceptos:
21 “Don’t handle, nor taste, nor touch”
“No tomes”, “no busques”, “no toques” —
22 (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men?
cosas todas que han de perecer con el uso— según los mandamientos y doctrinas de los hombres?
23 These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imposed worship, humility, and severity to the body, but aren’t of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.
Las cuales cosas tienen ciertamente color de sabiduría, por su afectada piedad, humildad y severidad con el cuerpo; mas no son de ninguna estima: solo sirven para la hartura de la carne.
