1 Chronicles 5
1 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn, but because he defiled his father’s couch, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; and the genealogy is not to be listed according to the birthright.
૧ઇઝરાયલના જયેષ્ઠ દીકરા રુબેનના દીકરાઓ; જો કે રુબેન ઇઝરાયલનો જયેષ્ઠ દીકરો હતો, પરંતુ તેણે પોતાના પિતાનો પલંગ અશુદ્ધ કર્યો હતો તેથી તેના જયેષ્ઠપણાનો હક ઇઝરાયલના દીકરા યૂસફના દીકરાઓને આપવામાં આવ્યો. તેથી તેને જયેષ્ઠ દીકરા તરીકે ગણવામાં આવ્યો નહિ.
2 For Judah prevailed above his brothers, and from him came the prince; but the birthright was Joseph’s)—
૨યહૂદા પોતાના ભાઈઓ કરતાં પરાક્રમી થયો અને તેના વંશમાંથી આગેવાન આવશે. પણ જયેષ્ઠપણાનો હક તો યૂસફનો જ રહ્યો.
3 the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
૩ઇઝરાયલના જયેષ્ઠ દીકરા રુબેનના દીકરાઓ; હનોખ, પાલ્લૂ, હેસ્રોન તથા કાર્મી હતા.
4 The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
૪યોએલના વંશજો; યોએલનો દીકરો શમાયા હતો, શમાયાનો દીકરો ગોગ હતો, ગોગનો દીકરો શિમઈ હતો,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
૫શિમઈનો દીકરો મિખા હતો, મિખાનો દીકરો રાયા હતો, રાયાનો દીકરો બઆલ હતો,
6 and Beerah his son, whom Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive. He was prince of the Reubenites.
૬બઆલનો દીકરો બેરા હતો. તેને આશ્શૂરનો રાજા તિલ્ગાથ-પિલ્નેસેર, બંદીવાન કરીને લઈ ગયો હતો. બેરા રુબેનીઓના કુળનો સરદાર હતો.
7 His brothers by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was listed: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,
૭તેઓની વંશાવળીના અહેવાલની નોંધ મુજબ, તેઓનાં કુળ પ્રમાણે તેઓના ભાઈઓ આ હતા; મુખ્ય યેઈએલ તથા ઝખાર્યા,
8 and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who lived in Aroer, even to Nebo and Baal Meon;
૮યોએલના દીકરા શેમાના દીકરા આઝાઝનો દીકરો બેલા. તેઓ અરોએરમાં છેક નબો તથા બઆલ-મેઓન સુધી રહેતા હતા.
9 and he lived eastward even to the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates, because their livestock were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
૯પૂર્વ દિશામાં ફ્રાત નદીથી અરણ્યની સરહદ સુધી તેમનો વિસ્તાર હતો. કેમ કે ગિલ્યાદ દેશમાં તેઓના પશુઓની સંખ્યા ઘણી હતી.
10 In the days of Saul, they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they lived in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.
૧૦શાઉલના દિવસોમાં યોએલના દીકરાઓએ હાગ્રીઓ પર હુમલો કર્યો અને તેઓનો નાશ કર્યો. તેઓ ગિલ્યાદની પૂર્વ બાજુના સઘળા પ્રદેશમાં પોતાના તંબુઓમાં વસ્યા.
11 The sons of Gad lived beside them in the land of Bashan to Salecah:
૧૧ગાદના કુળના સભ્યો બાશાન દેશમાં તેઓની સામી બાજુએ સાલખા સુધી વસ્યા.
12 Joel the chief, Shapham the second, Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
૧૨તેઓના આગેવાનો યોએલ, જે કુટુંબનો મુખ્ય હતો, કુટુંબનો બીજો મુખ્ય શાફામ; યાનાઈ તથા શાફાટ બાશાનમાં રહેતા હતા.
13 Their brothers of their fathers’ houses: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber, seven.
૧૩તેઓના સાત ભાઈઓ મિખાએલ, મશુલ્લામ, શેબા, યોરાય, યાકાન, ઝીઆ તથા એબેર.
14 These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
૧૪આ નીચે મુજબની વ્યક્તિઓ અબિહાઈલના વંશજો; બૂઝનો દીકરો યાહદો હતો, યાહદોનો દીકરો યશિશાય હતો, યશિશાયનો દીકરો મિખાએલ હતો, મિખાએલનો દીકરો ગિલ્યાદ હતો, ગિલ્યાદનો દીકરો યારોઆ હતો, યારોઆનો દીકરો હૂરી હતો, હૂરીનો દીકરો અબિહાઈલ.
15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers’ houses.
૧૫ગુનીનો દીકરો આબ્દિયેલનો દીકરો અહી, તેઓના પિતાના કુટુંબનો મુખ્ય હતો.
16 They lived in Gilead in Bashan and in its towns, and in all the pasture lands of Sharon as far as their borders.
૧૬તેઓ બાશાનમાંના ગિલ્યાદમાં, તેના નગરોમાં તથા શારોનની સઘળી ઘાસચારાવાળી જમીનોમાં, તેઓની સરહદ સુધી રહેતા હતા.
17 All these were listed by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
૧૭યહૂદાના રાજા યોથામના દિવસોમાં તથા ઇઝરાયલના રાજા યરોબામના દિવસોમાં, આ બધાને તેઓની વંશાવળી પ્રમાણે ગણવામાં આવ્યા હતા.
18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, able to shoot with bow, and skillful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred sixty that were able to go out to war.
૧૮રુબેનીઓ, ગાદીઓ, તથા મનાશ્શાનું અડધું કુળ જેઓ ઢાલ તથા તલવાર ઊંચકનાર, ધનુર્વિદ્યા જાણનારાં તથા યુદ્ધમાં કુશળ એવા ચુંમાળીસ હજાર સૈનિકો હતા.
19 They made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.
૧૯તેઓએ હાગ્રીઓ, યટુર, નાફીશ તથા નોદાબ પર હુમલો કર્યો.
20 They were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all who were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he answered them because they put their trust in him.
૨૦ઇઝરાયલીઓને તેઓ વિરુદ્ધ ઈશ્વર તરફથી સહાય મળી. આ પ્રમાણે હાગ્રીઓ તથા જે સર્વ તેઓની સાથે હતા, તેઓ હારી ગયા. કેમ કે ઇઝરાયલીઓએ યુદ્ધમાં ઈશ્વરને વિનંતી કરી અને તેમણે તેઓની વિનંતી માન્ય કરી, કારણ કે તેઓએ ઈશ્વર પર ભરોસો રાખ્યો હતો.
21 They took away their livestock: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred fifty thousand, and of donkeys two thousand, and of men one hundred thousand.
૨૧તેઓએ તેમનાં જાનવરો, એટલે પચાસ હજાર ઊંટ, બે લાખ પચાસ હજાર ઘેટાં, બે હજાર ગધેડાં ઉપરાંત એક લાખ માણસોને કબજે કરી લીધા.
22 For many fell slain, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until the captivity.
૨૨કેમ કે ઈશ્વર તેમના માટે લડ્યા. તેઓએ ઘણાં શત્રુઓનો સંહાર કર્યો. બંદીવાસ થતાં સુધી તેઓ તેમના દેશમાં રહ્યા.
23 The children of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the land. They increased from Bashan to Baal Hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon.
૨૩મનાશ્શાનું અડધું કુળ, બાશાનના દેશથી બઆલ-હેર્મોન તથા સનીર જે હેર્મોન પર્વત છે ત્યાં સુધી વસ્યું.
24 These were the heads of their fathers’ houses: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel—mighty men of valor, famous men, heads of their fathers’ houses.
૨૪તેઓના પિતાના કુટુંબોના આગેવાનો આ પ્રમાણે હતા: એફેર, ઈશી, અલિયેલ, આઝ્રીએલ, યર્મિયા, હોદાવ્યા તથા યાહદીએલ. તેઓ પરાક્રમી, હિંમતવાન, નામાંકિત પુરુષો હતા તથા પોતાના પિતાના કુટુંબનાં આગેવાનો હતા.
25 They trespassed against the God of their fathers, and played the prostitute after the gods of the peoples of the land whom God destroyed before them.
૨૫પણ તેઓ પોતાના પિતૃઓના ઈશ્વરને અવિશ્વાસુ હતા. તેઓની આગળથી દેશના જે લોકોનો વિનાશ ઈશ્વરે કર્યો હતો તેઓના દેવોની પૂજા કરીને તેઓ ધર્મભ્રષ્ટ થયા.
26 So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried away the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and to the river of Gozan, to this day.
૨૬ઇઝરાયલના ઈશ્વરે આશ્શૂરના રાજા પૂલનું તથા આશ્શૂરના રાજા તિલ્ગાથ-પિલ્નેસેરનું પણ મન ઉશ્કેર્યું. તે તેઓને એટલે રુબેનીઓને, ગાદીઓને તથા મનાશ્શાના અડધા કુળને બંદીવાન કરીને લઈ ગયો. તેણે તેઓને હલાહ, હાબોર, હારા તથા ગોઝાન નદીને કિનારે લાવીને વસાવ્યા, જ્યાં તેઓ આજ સુધી વસેલા છે.
