1 Chronicles 11
1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
Nun sammelte sich ganz Israel bei David zu Hebron und sprach: "Wir sind dein Fleisch und Bein.
2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”
Noch als Saul König war, bist du es gewesen, der Israel ins Feld und heimgeführt hat. Auch sprach der Herr, dein Gott, zu dir: 'Du sollst mein Volk Israel weiden und Fürst über mein Volk Israel sein!'"
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh. They anointed David king over Israel, according to Yahweh’s word by Samuel.
Also kamen alle Ältesten Israels zum König nach Hebron. Und David schloß mit ihnen zu Hebron vor dem Herrn einen Bund. Dann salbten sie David zum König über Israel nach dem Worte des Herrn durch Samuel.
4 David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (also called Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
Nun zog David mit ganz Israel gegen Jerusalem, das ist Jebus. Dort waren die Jebusiter einheimisch im Lande.
5 The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You will not come in here!” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is David’s city.
Da sprachen die Einwohner von Jebus zu David: "Du kommst nicht hier herein." David aber erstürmte die Burg Sions, das ist die Davidsstadt.
6 David had said, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.” Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
Da sprach David: "Jeder, der zuerst einen Jebusiter erschlägt, sei Hauptmann und Befehlshaber!" Da stieg Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, zuerst hinauf. So ward er Hauptmann.
7 David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it David’s city.
Hierauf ließ sich David in der Burg nieder. Darum nannte man sie Davidsstadt.
8 He built the city all around, from Millo even around; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
Er baute die Stadt ringsum, von der Bastei bis zu der Ringmauer. Und Joab stellte die übrige Stadt her.
9 David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh of Armies was with him.
David aber ward immer größer, und der Herr der Heerscharen war mit ihm.
10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to Yahweh’s word concerning Israel.
Dies sind der Helden Davids Häupter, die fest zu ihm hielten, als er König ward, um ihn nach des Herrn Wort zum König auch über Gesamtisrael zu machen.
11 This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.
Dies ist die Zahl der Davidshelden: Chaknonis Sohn Josebeam, das Haupt der Dreißig. Er ist es, der seinen Speer über dreihundert Erschlagene auf einmal schwang.
12 After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
Nach ihm kommt der Achotiter Eleazar, Dodos Sohn. Er gehörte zu den drei Helden.
13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
Er war mit David am Blutsteinfelsen gewesen, als sich die Philister dort zur Schlacht sammelten. Nun war dort ein Feld voll Gerste. Als aber das Volk vor den Philistern floh,
14 They stood in the middle of the plot, defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh saved them by a great victory.
stellten sie sich mitten auf das Feldstück, behaupteten es und schlugen die Philister, und der Herr verhalf ihnen zu einem großen Sieg.
15 Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
Drei von den dreißig Hauptleuten stiegen nach dem Felsennest zu David, in die Höhle von Adullam hinab. Das Philisterheer aber lagerte in der Rephaimebene.
16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was in Bethlehem at that time.
Damals war David in der Feste, die Philisterbesatzung aber in Bethlehem.
17 David longed, and said, “Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”
Nun spürte David ein Gelüste und fragte: "Wer holt mir Trinkwasser aus dem Brunnen in Bethlehem am Tore?"
18 The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink any of it, but poured it out to Yahweh,
Da schlugen sich die Drei durch das Philisterlager, schöpften Wasser aus dem Brunnen in Bethlehem am Tore und brachten es David. David aber wollte es nicht mehr trinken, sondern spendete es für den Herrn.
19 and said, “My God forbid me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.
Er sprach: "Bewahre mich mein Gott davor, daß ich so etwas tue! Sollte ich dieser Männer Blut samt ihrem Leben trinken? Denn mit Lebensgefahr haben sie es hergebracht." Und so wollte er es nicht trinken. Solches taten die drei Helden.
20 Abishai, the brother of Joab, was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.
Joabs Bruder Abisai war das Haupt der Dreißig. Er war es, der seinen Speer gegen dreihundert Unreine schwang. Bei den Dreien war er angesehen.
21 Of the three, he was more honorable than the two, and was made their captain; however he wasn’t included in the three.
Er wurde schnell von den Dreien ausgezeichnet, und so ward er bei ihnen Hauptmann. Aber an die Drei reichte er nicht heran.
22 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day.
Benaja, Jojadas Sohn, war der Sohn eines tüchtigen, tatenreichen Mannes aus Kabseel, ein tapferer Held. Er selber hatte Moabs beide Kämpen erschlagen. Auch war er hinabgestiegen und hatte den Löwen mitten im Brunnen erschlagen, als Schnee fiel.
23 He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high. In the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
Er ist es auch, der den Ägypter, einen riesigen Mann von fünf Ellen, erschlagen hat. Der Ägypter hatte einen Speer gleich einem Weberbaume in der Hand. Er aber ging mit dem Stocke auf ihn los, entriß dem Ägypter die Lanze und tötete ihn mit dem eigenen Speere.
24 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things and had a name among the three mighty men.
Solches hatte Benaja, Jojadas Sohn, getan. Und er war bei den Dreien angesehen.
25 Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three; and David set him over his guard.
Er hatte sich unter den Dreißig ausgezeichnet. Aber an die Drei reichte er nicht heran. David setzte ihn über seine Leibwache.
26 The mighty men of the armies also include Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
Die tapferen Helden sind Joabs Bruder Asael, der Bethlehemite Elchanan, Dodos Sohn,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
der Haroditer Sammot, der Pelomiter Cheles,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,
der Tekoiter Ira, des Ikkes Sohn, der Anatotiter Abiezer,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
der Chusatiter Sibkai, der Achotiter Ilai,
30 Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,
