Revelation 21
1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.
Vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra pasaron, y el mar ya no existe.
2 I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.
Vi la ciudad santa, la Nueva Jerusalén, bajando del cielo desde Dios, preparada como una novia adornada para su esposo.
3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
Oí una fuerte voz del cielo que decía: “He aquí que la morada de Dios está con el pueblo; y él habitará con ellos, y ellos serán su pueblo, y Dios mismo estará con ellos como su Dios.
4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.”
Enjugará toda lágrima de sus ojos. La muerte ya no existirá, ni habrá más luto, ni llanto, ni dolor. Las primeras cosas han pasado”.
5 He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
El que está sentado en el trono dijo: “He aquí que hago nuevas todas las cosas”. Dijo: “Escribe, porque estas palabras de Dios son fieles y verdaderas”.
6 He said to me, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life.
Me dijo: “Yo soy el Alfa y la Omega, el Principio y el Fin. Al que tenga sed le daré gratuitamente del manantial del agua de la vida.
7 He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.
Al que venza, le daré estas cosas. Yo seré su Dios, y él será mi hijo.
9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls which were loaded with the seven last plagues came, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come here. I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.”
Vino uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas cargadas con las siete últimas plagas, y habló conmigo diciendo: “Ven aquí. Te mostraré la novia, la esposa del Cordero”.
10 He carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
Me llevó en el Espíritu a un monte grande y alto, y me mostró la ciudad santa, Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo, de Dios,
11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
con la gloria de Dios. Su luz era como una piedra preciosísima, como una piedra de jaspe, clara como el cristal;
12 having a great and high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.
tenía un muro grande y alto con doce puertas, y a las puertas doce ángeles, y nombres escritos en ellas, que son los nombres de las doce tribus de los hijos de Israel.
13 On the east were three gates, and on the north three gates, and on the south three gates, and on the west three gates.
Al este había tres puertas, al norte tres puertas, al sur tres puertas y al oeste tres puertas.
14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them twelve names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
El muro de la ciudad tenía doce cimientos, y en ellos doce nombres de los doce Apóstoles del Cordero.
15 He who spoke with me had for a measure a golden reed to measure the city, its gates, and its walls.
El que hablaba conmigo tenía como medida una caña de oro para medir la ciudad, sus puertas y sus muros.
16 The city is square. Its length is as great as its width. He measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand twelve stadia. Its length, width, and height are equal.
La ciudad es cuadrada. Su longitud es tan grande como su anchura. Midió la ciudad con la caña: doce mil doce estadios. Su longitud, su anchura y su altura son iguales.
17 Its wall is one hundred forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
Su muro tiene ciento cuarenta y cuatro codos, según la medida de un hombre, es decir, de un ángel.
18 The construction of its wall was jasper. The city was pure gold, like pure glass.
La construcción de su muro era de jaspe. La ciudad era de oro puro, como el vidrio puro.
19 The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire; the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
Los cimientos de la muralla de la ciudad estaban adornados con toda clase de piedras preciosas. El primer cimiento era de jaspe; el segundo, de zafiro; el tercero, de calcedonia; el cuarto, de esmeralda;
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
el quinto, de sardónica; el sexto, de sardio; el séptimo, de crisolita; el octavo, de berilo; el noveno, de topacio; el décimo, de crisoprasa; el undécimo, de jacinto; y el duodécimo, de amatista.
21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls. Each one of the gates was made of one pearl. The street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.
Las doce puertas eran doce perlas. Cada una de las puertas estaba hecha de una perla. La calle de la ciudad era de oro puro, como el cristal transparente.
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
No vi ningún templo en ella, porque el Señor Dios Todopoderoso y el Cordero son su templo.
23 The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it and its lamp is the Lamb.
La ciudad no necesita que brillen el sol ni la luna, porque la gloria misma de Dios la ilumina y su lámpara es el Cordero.
24 The nations will walk in its light. The kings of the earth bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
Las naciones caminarán a su luz. Los reyes de la tierra llevan a ella la gloria y el honor de las naciones.
25 Its gates will in no way be shut by day (for there will be no night there),
Sus puertas no se cerrarán de día (porque allí no habrá noche),
26 and they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it so that they may enter.
y traerán a ella la gloria y el honor de las naciones para que puedan entrar.
27 There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
De ninguna manera entrará en ella nada profano, ni nadie que cause abominación o mentira, sino sólo los que están escritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero.
