< Psalms 44 >
1 For the Chief Musician. By the sons of Korah. A contemplative psalm. We have heard with our ears, God; our fathers have told us what work you did in their days, in the days of old.
Kuom jatend wer. Maskil mar yawuot Kora. Yaye Nyasaye, wasewinjo gi itwa; kendo kwerewa osenyisowa, gik mane itimo e ndalogi, ndalo machon gi lala.
2 You drove out the nations with your hand, but you planted them. You afflicted the peoples, but you spread them abroad.
Ne iriembo ogendini mamoko gi lweti iwuon kendo ne iguro kwerewa kargi; ne itieko ogendinigo mi imiyo kwerewa okar.
3 For they didn’t get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, because you were favorable to them.
Ne ok giloyo pinyno gi liganglagi kendo kata bedegi bende ne ok okelonigi loch; to mana badi iwuon ma korachwich, kod ler mar wangʼi ema nomiyo gilocho nimar ne iherogi.
4 God, you are my King. Command victories for Jacob!
In e Ruodha kendo Nyasacha, magolo chik mondo Jakobo olochi.
5 Through you, we will push down our adversaries. Through your name, we will tread down those who rise up against us.
Wasiro wasikwa nikech in, waloyo joma kedo kodwa kuom nyingi.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither will my sword save me.
Atungʼ mara ok ageno kuome, liganglana bende ok mi alochi;
7 But you have saved us from our adversaries, and have shamed those who hate us.
to in ema imiyowa loch ewi wasikwa, imiyo joma kedo kodwa neno wichkuot.
8 In God we have made our boast all day long. We will give thanks to your name forever. (Selah)
Sungawa ni kuom Nyasaye odiechiengʼ duto, kendo wabiro pako nyingi nyaka chiengʼ. (Sela)
9 But now you rejected us, and brought us to dishonor, and don’t go out with our armies.
To koro isedagiwa kendo isedwokowa piny; tinde ok idhi e kedo gi jolwenjwa.
10 You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.
Ne imiyo waringo e nyim wasigu kendo joma kedo kodwa oseyakowa.
11 You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.
Ne ijwangʼowa mondo ongamwa ka rombe kendo isekeyowa e dier pinje.
12 You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.
Ne iuso jogi nono maonge ohala mane iyudo kuom usogi.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.
Isemiyo wadoko joma iyanyo e dier joma odak butwa, wan joma inyiero kendo ma ocha gi joma olworowa.
14 You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
Isemiyo olokwa ngero e dier ogendini; kendo ogendini kino wigi konenowa.
15 All day long my dishonor is before me, and shame covers my face,
Wichkuot mara osiko neno e wangʼa odiechiengʼ duto, kendo lela wangʼa wichkuot oumo.
16 at the taunt of one who reproaches and verbally abuses, because of the enemy and the avenger.
Seche ma joma ochaya kendo yanya dirona weche, nikech jasigu oramo ni nyaka ochul kuor.
17 All this has come on us, yet we haven’t forgotten you. We haven’t been false to your covenant.
Magi duto notimorena, kata obedo ni wiwa ne pok owil kodi, kata riambo ne singruok mari.
18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps strayed from your path,
Chunywa ne pok oa moweyi; kendo tiendewa ne pok okier moweyo yori.
19 though you have crushed us in the haunt of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
To pod ne igoyowa agoya mimiyo ondiegi olawowa; kendo ne iumowa gi mudho mandiwa.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread out our hands to a strange god,
Ka dipo ni wiwa nosewil gi Nyasachwa kata ni ne waseyaro lwetwa ne nyasaye moro ma wendo,
21 won’t God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart.
donge Nyasaye dine ofwenyo wachno, nikech ongʼeyo gik malingʼ-lingʼ manie chuny?
22 Yes, for your sake we are killed all day long. We are regarded as sheep for the slaughter.
To nikech in, tho ochomowa odiechiengʼ duto; ikwanowa kaka rombo mitero kar yengʼo.
23 Wake up! Why do you sleep, Lord? Arise! Don’t reject us forever.
Chiew, yaye Ruoth Nyasaye! Inindo nangʼo? Yaw wangʼi inen! Kik ikwedwa nyaka chiengʼ.
24 Why do you hide your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
Ere gima omiyo ipandonwa wangʼi momiyo wiyi owil kod pek ma wan-go kod chandruokwa?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our body clings to the earth.
Osedwokwa piny nyaka e buru, dendwa omoko piny e lowo.
26 Rise up to help us. Redeem us for your loving kindness’ sake.
Aa malo mondo ikonywa; reswa nikech herani ma ok rem.
