Psalms 40
1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me, and heard my cry.
संगीत निर्देशक के लिये. दावीद की रचना. एक स्तोत्र. मैं धैर्यपूर्वक याहवेह की प्रतीक्षा करता रहा; उन्होंने मेरी ओर झुककर मेरा रोना सुना.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.
उन्होंने मुझे सत्यानाश के गड्ढे में से बचा लिया, दलदल और कीच के गड्ढे से निकाला; उन्होंने मुझे एक चट्टान पर ले जा खड़ा कर दिया अब मेरे पांव स्थिर स्थान पर है.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
उन्होंने मुझे हमारे परमेश्वर के स्तवन में, एक नए गीत को सिखाया. अनेक यह देखेंगे, श्रद्धा से भयभीत हो जाएंगे और याहवेह में विश्वास करेंगे.
4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, and doesn’t respect the proud, nor such as turn away to lies.
धन्य है वह पुरुष, जो याहवेह पर भरोसा रखता है, जो अभिमानियों से कोई आशा नहीं रखता, अथवा उनसे, जो झूठे देवताओं की शरण में हैं.
5 Many, LORD, my God, are the wonderful works which you have done, and your thoughts which are toward us. They can’t be declared back to you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be counted.
याहवेह, मेरे परमेश्वर, आपके द्वारा किए गए चमत्कार चिन्ह अनेक-अनेक हैं, और हमारे लिए आपके द्वारा योजित योजनाएं. आपके तुल्य कोई भी नहीं है; यदि मैं उनका वर्णन करना प्रारंभ भी करूं, तो उनके असंख्य होने के कारण उनकी गिनती करना असंभव होगा.
6 Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering.
आपको बलि और भेंट की कोई अभिलाषा नहीं, किंतु आपने मेरे कान खोल दिए. आपने अग्निबलि और पापबलि की भी चाहत नहीं की.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll.
तब मैंने यह कहा, “देखिए मैं आ रहा हूं; पुस्तिका में यह मेरे ही विषय में लिखा है.
8 I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.”
मेरे परमेश्वर, मुझे प्रिय है आपकी ही इच्छापूर्ति; आपकी व्यवस्था मेरे हृदय में बसी है.”
9 I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know.
विशाल सभा में मैंने आपके धर्ममय शुभ संदेश का प्रचार किया है; देख लीजिए, याहवेह, आप जानते हैं कि मैं इस विषय में चुप न रहूंगा.
10 I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly.
मैंने अपने परमेश्वर की धार्मिकता को अपने हृदय में ही सीमित नहीं रखा; मैं आपकी विश्वासयोग्यता तथा आपके द्वारा प्रदान किए गए उद्धार की चर्चा करता रहता हूं. विशाल सभा के सामने मैं आपके सत्य एवं आपके करुणा-प्रेम को छुपाता नहीं.
11 Don’t withhold your tender mercies from me, LORD. Let your loving kindness and your truth continually preserve me.
याहवेह, आप अपनी कृपा से मुझे दूर न करिये; आपका करुणा-प्रेम तथा आपकी सत्यता निरंतर मुझे सुरक्षित रखेंगे.
12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me. My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of my head. My heart has failed me.
मैं असंख्य बुराइयों से घिर चुका हूं; मेरे अपराधों ने बढ़कर मुझे दबा दिया है; परिणामस्वरूप अब मैं देख भी नहीं पा रहा. ये अपराध संख्या में मेरे सिर के बालों से भी अधिक हैं, मेरा साहस अब टूटा जा रहा है.
13 Be pleased, LORD, to deliver me. Hurry to help me, LORD.
याहवेह, कृपा कर मुझे उद्धार प्रदान कीजिए; याहवेह, तुरंत मेरी सहायता कीजिए.
14 Let them be disappointed and confounded together who seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor who delight in my hurt.
वे, जो मेरे प्राणों के प्यासे हैं, लज्जित और निराश किए जाएं; वे जिनका आनंद मेरी पीड़ा में है, पीठ दिखाकर भागें तथा अपमानित किए जाएं.
15 Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me, “Aha! Aha!”
वे सभी, जो मेरी स्थिति को देख, “आहा! आहा!” कर रहे हैं, अपनी ही लज्जास्पद स्थिति को देख विस्मित हो जाएं.
16 Let all those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. Let such as love your salvation say continually, “Let the LORD be exalted!”
किंतु वे सभी, जो आपकी खोज करते हैं हर्षोल्लास में मगन हों; वे सभी, जिन्हें आपके उद्धार की आकांक्षा है, यही कहें, “अति महान हैं याहवेह!”
17 But I am poor and needy. May the Lord think about me. You are my help and my deliverer. Don’t delay, my God.
प्रभु, मैं गरीब और ज़रूरतमंद हूं; इस कारण मुझ पर कृपादृष्टि कीजिए. आप ही मेरे सहायक तथा छुड़ानेवाले हैं; मेरे परमेश्वर, अब विलंब न कीजिए.
