Psalms 20

1 For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble. May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high,

Kumqondisi wokuhlabela. Ihubo likaDavida. Sengathi uThixo angakuphendula nxa usenkathazweni; sengathi ibizo likaNkulunkulu kaJakhobe lingakuvikela.

2 send you help from the sanctuary, grant you support from Zion,

Sengathi angakuthumela usizo luvela endlini engcwele njalo akunike ukuhlomulela kuvela eZiyoni.

3 remember all your offerings, and accept your burned sacrifice. (Selah)

Sengathi angakhumbula yonke imihlatshelo yakho njalo emukele iminikelo yakho yokutshiswa.

4 May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your counsel.

Sengathi angakupha isifiso senhliziyo yakho enze izimiso zakho zonke ziphumelele.

5 We will triumph in your salvation. In the name of our God, we will set up our banners. May the LORD grant all your requests.

Sizamemeza ngokujabula lapho usunqobile, siphakamise uphawu lwethu egameni likaNkulunkulu wethu. Sengathi uThixo angakupha zonke izicelo zakho.

6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.

Manje sengisazi ukuthi uThixo uyamhlenga ogcotshiweyo wakhe; uyamphendula esezulwini lakhe elingcwele ngamandla Akhe asindisayo awesandla Sakhe sokunene.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Abanye bathemba izinqola zempi, abanye amabhiza, kodwa thina sithemba ibizo likaThixo uNkulunkulu wethu.

8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.

Bafuqelwa phansi bawe, kodwa thina siyaphakama sime sigxile.

9 Save, LORD! Let the King answer us when we call!

Oh Thixo, sindisa inkosi! Sabela lapho simemeza!
