Psalms 124

1 A Song of Ascents. By David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, let Israel now say,

Si Yavé no estuviera a favor de nosotros, Que [lo] diga ahora Israel:

2 if it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us,

Si Yavé no estuviera a favor de nosotros Cuando los hombres se levantaron contra nosotros,

3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us,

Entonces nos habrían tragado vivos, Cuando el furor de ellos se encendió contra nosotros.

4 then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul.

Entonces nos habrían anegado las aguas, Y el torrente hubiera pasado a nuestra alma.

5 Then the proud waters would have gone over our soul.

Entonces el torrente nos habría inundado. Sobre nuestras vidas habrían pasado las aguas impetuosas.

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.

Bendito sea Yavé, Quien no nos entregó como presa de los dientes de ellos.

7 Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowler’s snare. The snare is broken, and we have escaped.

Como un ave que escapa de la trampa del cazador, Así escapó nuestra alma. ¡La trampa se rompió, Y nosotros escapamos!

8 Our help is in the LORD’s name, who made heaven and earth.

Nuestro socorro está en el Nombre de Yavé, Quien hizo el cielo y la tierra.
