Proverbs 13
1 A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke.
ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾದ ಮಗನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವನು ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
2 By the fruit of his lips, a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful crave violence.
ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಯ ಫಲದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಆನಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂಸೆಯ ಹಸಿವು ಇರುತ್ತದೆ.
3 He who guards his mouth guards his soul. One who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
ತನ್ನ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವವನು ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ; ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹತೋಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿಡದವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು.
4 The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.
ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಹಸಿವು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ತುಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಶ್ರಮಪಡುವವರ ಆಸೆಗಳು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಈಡೇರುವವು.
5 A righteous man hates lies, but a wicked man brings shame and disgrace.
ನೀತಿವಂತನು ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ದುರ್ವಾಸನೆಗೊಳಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
6 Righteousness guards the way of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
ನೀತಿಯು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಂತನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟತನವು ಪಾಪಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡವುತ್ತದೆ.
7 There are some who pretend to be rich, yet have nothing. There are some who pretend to be poor, yet have great wealth.
ಬಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸುವವನು ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ದರಿದ್ರನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿದರೂ ಬಹು ಸಿರಿವಂತನೇ.
8 The ransom of a man’s life is his riches, but the poor hear no threats.
ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ವಿಮೋಚನೆಯು ಅವನ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ; ಆದರೆ ಬಡವನು ಬೆದರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ.
9 The light of the righteous shines brightly, but the lamp of the wicked is snuffed out.
ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಬೆಳಕು ಪ್ರಕಾಶಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಹೊಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಹೋಗುವುದು.
10 Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is with people who take advice.
ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಗರ್ವವೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲಹ; ಆದರೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸಲಹೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಲ್ಲಿ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
11 Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.
ಅಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ಕ್ಷಯಿಸುವುದು; ಪ್ರಯಾಸದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದು.
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when longing is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆ ತಡವಾದರೆ ಹೃದಯವು ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ; ಆಶೆಯು ಈಡೇರಿದರೆ, ಅದು ಜೀವಕರವಾದ ವೃಕ್ಷವು.
13 Whoever despises instruction will pay for it, but he who respects a command will be rewarded.
ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸುವವನು ನಾಶವಾಗುವನು; ಆಜ್ಞೆಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನು ಪ್ರತಿಫಲ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
14 The teaching of the wise is a spring of life, to turn from the snares of death.
ಮರಣದ ಪಾಶಗಳಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಉಪದೇಶವು ಜೀವದ ಬುಗ್ಗೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
15 Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the unfaithful is hard.
ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸದ್ರೋಹಿಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವು ನಾಶಕರವಾಗಿದೆ.
16 Every prudent man acts from knowledge, but a fool exposes folly.
ಪ್ರತಿ ಜಾಣನು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖನು ತನ್ನ ಮೂರ್ಖತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆಡವುತ್ತಾನೆ.
17 A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy gains healing.
ದುಷ್ಟ ದೂತನು ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತನಾದ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯು ಆರೋಗ್ಯದಾಯಕನು.
18 Poverty and shame come to him who refuses discipline, but he who heeds correction shall be honored.
ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸುವವನಿಗೆ ಬಡತನವೂ, ಅವಮಾನವೂ ಬರುವುವು; ಗದರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುವವನು ಸನ್ಮಾನ ಹೊಂದುವನು.
19 Longing fulfilled is sweet to the soul, but fools detest turning from evil.
ಕನಸುಗಳು ನನಸಾಗುವುದನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದು ಆಹ್ಲಾದಕರವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ; ಕೆಟ್ಟತನದಿಂದ ತಿರುಗುವುದು ಮೂರ್ಖರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
20 One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಾಗುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ಖರ ಜೊತೆಗಾರನು ಸಂಕಟಪಡುವನು.
21 Misfortune pursues sinners, but prosperity rewards the righteous.
ವಿಪತ್ತು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವಾಗುವುದು.
22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored for the righteous.
ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನು ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಪಾಪಿಯ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗಾಗಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗಿದೆ.
23 An abundance of food is in poor people’s fields, but injustice sweeps it away.
ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಜವುಳು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಹು ಬೆಳೆಯು ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತದೆ; ಅನ್ಯಾಯವು ಅದನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದು.
24 One who spares the rod hates his son, but one who loves him is careful to discipline him.
ಬೆತ್ತವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯದವನು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಆದರೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಿಸ್ತು ಮಾಡಲು ಜಾಗರೂಕರಾಗಿರುತ್ತಾನೆ.
25 The righteous one eats to the satisfying of his soul, but the belly of the wicked goes hungry.
ನೀತಿವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ತೃಪ್ತಿಯಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ; ದುಷ್ಟರ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಗೆ ಕೊರತೆಯಾಗುವುದು.
