Mark 6
1 He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his disciples followed him.
Jesús se fue de allí y se dirigió a Nazaret con sus discípulos.
2 When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands?
El sábado, comenzó a enseñar en la sinagoga, y muchos de los que estaban allí escuchando estaban sorprendidos. “¿De dónde saca tales ideas?” Preguntaban. “¿De dónde recibe tal sabiduría? ¿De dónde saca el poder para hacer milagros?
3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judah, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” So they were offended at him.
¿Acaso no es este el carpintero, el hijo de María, hermano de Santiago, José, Judas y Simón? ¿No viven sus hermanas entre nosotros?” Entonces se sintieron ofendidos y lo rechazaron.
4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
“Un profeta es tratado con respeto excepto en su propia ciudad, entre sus familiares, y en su propia familia”, les dijo Jesús.
5 He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them.
Por ello, Jesús no pudo hacer milagros allí, sino apenas sanar a algunas personas enfermas.
6 He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.
Y estaba sorprendido por su falta de fe. Jesús viajaba por las ciudades cercanas, enseñando a su paso.
7 He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
Reunió a los doce discípulos y comenzó a enviarlos de dos en dos, dándoles autoridad sobre los espíritus malignos.
8 He commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse,
Les dijo que no llevaran nada con ellos, excepto un bastón. No llevarían pan, ni bolsas, ni dinero en sus cinturones.
9 but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.
Podían usar sandalias, pero no debían llevar ropa adicional.
10 He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
“Cuando sean invitados a una casa, quédense allí hasta marcharse”, les dijo.
11 Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
“Si no son bien recibidos ni escuchados, entonces sacudan el polvo de sus pies al salir como señal de que han desistido de ellos”.
12 They went out and preached that people should repent.
Así que los discípulos iban por todos lados llamando a las personas al arrepentimiento.
13 They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick and healed them.
Expulsaron muchos demonios, y sanaron a muchos que estaban enfermos, ungiéndolos con aceite.
14 King Herod heard this, for his name had become known, and he said, “John the Baptizer has risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”
El Rey Herodes llegó a escuchar sobre Jesús desde que se había vuelto reconocido. Algunos decían: “Este es Juan el Bautista que ha resucitado de entre los muertos. Por eso tiene tales poderes milagrosos”.
15 But others said, “He is Elijah.” Others said, “He is a prophet, or like one of the prophets.”
Otros decían: “Es Elías”. Y otros también decían: “Es un profeta, como los profetas del pasado”.
16 But Herod, when he heard this, said, “This is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead.”
Pero cuando Herodes escuchó esto, dijo: “¡Es Juan, el que yo decapité! ¡Ha regresado de entre los muertos!”
17 For Herod himself had sent out and arrested John and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for he had married her.
Pues Herodes había dado órdenes de arrestar y encarcelar a Juan por causa de Herodías, la esposa de su hermano Felipe, con la cual él se había casado.
18 For John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
Juan le había dicho a Herodes: “Es contra la ley casarte con la esposa de tu hermano”.
19 Herodias set herself against him and desired to kill him, but she couldn’t,
De modo que Herodías tenía resentimiento contra Juan y quería que lo mataran. Pero ella no era capaz de mandar a hacerlo
20 for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. When he heard him, he did many things, and he heard him gladly.
porque Herodes sabía que Juan era un hombre santo que hacía lo recto. Herodes protegía a Juan y, aunque lo que Juan le decía lo inquietaba, aun así Herodes se complacía en escuchar lo que él decía.
21 Then a convenient day came when Herod on his birthday made a supper for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.
Herodías tuvo su oportunidad en ocasión del cumpleaños de Herodes. Él ofreció un banquete para los nobles, los oficiales militares y líderes importantes de Galilea.
22 When the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and those sitting with him. The king said to the young lady, “Ask me whatever you want, and I will give it to you.”
Entonces la hija de Herodías llegó y comenzó a danzar para ellos. Herodes y los que estaban comiendo con él estaban deleitados por su presentación, así que le dijo a la niña:
23 He swore to her, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”
“Pídeme lo que quieras, y te lo daré”. Y confirmó su promesa con un juramento, “Te daré hasta la mitad de mi reino”.
24 She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptizer.”
Ella salió y le preguntó a su madre: “¿Qué debo pedir?” “La cabeza de Juan el Bautista”, respondió ella.
25 She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptizer on a platter.”
La joven se apresuró para regresar y le dijo al rey: “Quiero que me des ahora la cabeza de Juan el Bautista en un plato”.
26 The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.
El rey estaba muy descontento por esto, pero como había hecho juramento frente a sus invitados, no quiso negarse a lo que ella pidió.
27 Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
Así que inmediatamente envió a un verdugo para que le trajera la cabeza de Juan. Después de decapitarlo en la prisión,
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.
el verdugo trajo la cabeza de Juan en un plato y se lo entregó a la niña, y ella se lo entregó a su madre.
29 When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse and laid it in a tomb.
Cuando los discípulos de Jesús oyeron lo que había ocurrido, vinieron y tomaron su cuerpo y lo colocaron en una tumba.
30 The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
Los apóstoles regresaron y se reunieron alrededor de Jesús. Le contaron todo lo que habían hecho y lo que habían enseñado.
31 He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
“Vengan conmigo, solo ustedes. Iremos a un lugar tranquilo, y descansaremos un poco”, les dijo Jesús, pues surgían tantas cosas por todas partes que ni siquiera tenían tiempo de comer.
32 They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
Así que se fueron en una barca a un lugar tranquilo para estar a solas.
33 They saw them going, and many recognized him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.
Pero la gente los vio partir y los reconocieron. Así que las personas de todas las ciudades vecinas se apresuraron para seguirlos.
34 Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
Cuando Jesús descendió de la barca, vio una gran multitud, y entonces sintió compasión de ellos, porque estaban como ovejas sin pastor. Así que comenzó a enseñarles sobre muchas cosas.
35 When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.
Ya se hacía tarde ese día y los discípulos de Jesús vinieron donde él estaba. Y le dijeron: “Estamos a millas de distancia y es muy tarde.
36 Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”
Deberías decirles a las personas que se vayan y compren alimentos en las aldeas y pueblos cercanos”.
37 But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
Pero Jesús respondió: “Denles ustedes de comer”. “¿Qué? Necesitaríamos más de seis meses de salario para comprar pan para alimentar a todas estas personas”, respondieron los discípulos.
38 He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
“Bueno, ¿cuánto pan tienen allí?” preguntó Jesús. “Vayan y vean”. Entonces ellos fueron y revisaron, y le dijeron: “Cinco panes, y un par de peces”.
39 He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.
Jesús ordenó a todos que se sentaran en grupos sobre la hierba verde.
40 They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.
Ellos se sentaron en grupos de cien y de cincuenta.
41 He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish among them all.
Entonces Jesús tomó los cinco panes y los dos peces. Mirando al cielo bendijo el alimento y partió el pan en pedazos. Entonces lo entregó a los discípulos para que lo repartieran entre las personas, y dividió los peces entre todos ellos.
42 They all ate and were filled.
Todos comieron hasta que quedaron saciados.
43 They took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish.
Entonces recogieron las sobras de los panes y los peces: doce canastas.
44 Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
Un total de cinco mil hombres además de sus familias, comieron de esa comida.
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.
Inmediatamente después de esto, Jesús dio órdenes a sus discípulos de regresar a la barca. Irían a Betsaida, al otro lado del lago, mientras él despedía a las personas para que se fueran.
46 After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.
Cuando terminó de despedirse, subió a las montañas para orar.
47 When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.
Ya tarde en la noche la barca estaba en medio del lago, mientras Jesús aún estaba a solas en tierra.
48 Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,
Pudo ver que estaban a merced del mar mientras remaban, pues el viento soplaba contra ellos. En las primeras horas de la mañana, Jesús se acercó a ellos, caminando sobre el agua. Ya los iba a alcanzar,
49 but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
pero cuando lo vieron caminando sobre el agua, los discípulos pensaron que era un fantasma. Entonces gritaron
50 for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
porque todos podían verlo y estaban completamente horrorizados. Inmediatamente Jesús les dijo: “No se preocupen, soy yo. ¡No tengan miedo!”
51 He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed among themselves, and marveled;
Entonces se dirigió hacia ellos y subió a la barca, y el viento se detuvo. Todos estaban sorprendidos,
52 for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.
pues no habían entendido el significado del milagro de la alimentación de la multitud a causa de su terquedad y por la dureza de sus corazones.
53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.
Tras haber cruzado el Mar, llegaron a Genezaret y allí anclaron la barca.
54 When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him,
Mientras subían, la gente enseguida reconoció a Jesús.
55 and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.
Y corrían por todas partes en la región para traer los enfermos en sus camillas hasta el lugar donde Jesús estaba.
56 Wherever he entered—into villages, or into cities, or into the country—they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment; and as many as touched him were made well.
Dondequiera que él iba, en las aldeas, en las ciudades o en los campos, la gente ponía a los enfermos en las plazas del mercado y le rogaban a Jesús que permitiera que los enfermos tocaran aunque fuera la punta de sus vestiduras. Y todos los que lo tocaban quedaban sanos.
