Mark 13
1 As he went out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Teacher, see what kind of stones and what kind of buildings!”
Comme Jésus sortait du temple, un de ses disciples lui dit: « Maître, voyez quelles pierres et quelles constructions! »
2 Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone on another, which will not be thrown down.”
Jésus lui répondit: « Tu vois ces grandes constructions? Il n’y sera pas laissé pierre sur pierre qui ne soit renversée. »
3 As he sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately,
Lorsqu’il se fut assis sur la montagne des Oliviers, en face du temple, Pierre, Jacques, Jean et André l’interrogèrent en particulier:
4 “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”
« Dites-nous quand cela arrivera, et à quel signe on connaîtra que toutes ces choses seront près de s’accomplir? »
5 Jesus, answering, began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
Jésus leur répondant, commença ce discours: « Prenez garde que nul ne vous séduise.
6 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and will lead many astray.
Car plusieurs viendront sous mon nom, disant: C’est moi le Christ; et ils en séduiront un grand nombre.
7 “When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don’t be troubled. For those must happen, but the end is not yet.
Quand vous entendrez parler de guerres et de bruits de guerres, ne vous troublez point; car il faut que ces choses arrivent: mais ce ne sera pas encore la fin.
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains.
On verra se soulever peuple contre peuple, royaume contre royaume; il y aura des tremblements de terre en divers lieux; il y aura des famines. Ce sera le commencement des douleurs.
9 “But watch yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils. You will be beaten in synagogues. You will stand before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them.
Prenez garde à vous-mêmes. On vous traduira devant les tribunaux et les synagogues; vous y serez battus; vous comparaîtrez devant les gouverneurs et les rois, à cause de moi, pour me rendre témoignage devant eux.
10 The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.
Il faut qu’auparavant l’Evangile soit prêché à toutes les nations.
11 When they lead you away and deliver you up, don’t be anxious beforehand or premeditate what you will say, but say whatever will be given you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
Lors donc qu’on vous emmènera pour vous faire comparaître, ne pensez pas d’avance à ce que vous direz; mais dites ce qui vous sera donné à l’heure même; car ce n’est pas vous qui parlerez, mais l’Esprit-Saint.
12 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
Le frère livrera son frère à la mort, et le père son fils; les enfants se dresseront contre leurs parents, et les mettront à mort.
13 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
Et vous serez en haine à tous à cause de mon nom. Mais celui qui persévérera jusqu’à la fin sera sauvé.
14 “But when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,
Lorsque vous verrez l’abomination de la désolation établie où elle ne doit pas être, — que celui qui lit, comprenne! — alors que ceux qui seront en Judée s’enfuient dans les montagnes.
15 and let him who is on the housetop not go down, nor enter in, to take anything out of his house.
Que celui qui sera sur le toit ne descende pas dans sa maison, et n’y entre pas pour prendre quelque objet.
16 Let him who is in the field not return back to take his cloak.
Et que celui qui sera allé dans son champ ne revienne pas pour prendre son manteau.
17 But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babies in those days!
Mais malheur aux femmes qui seront enceintes, ou qui allaiteront en ces jours-là!
18 Pray that your flight won’t be in the winter.
Priez pour que ces choses n’arrivent pas en hiver.
19 For in those days there will be oppression, such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will be.
Car il y aura, en ces jours, des tribulations telles qu’il n’y en a pas eu depuis le commencement du monde, que Dieu a créé, jusqu’à présent, et qu’il n’y en aura jamais.
20 Unless the Lord had shortened the days, no flesh would have been saved; but for the sake of the chosen ones, whom he picked out, he shortened the days.
Et si le Seigneur n’avait abrégé ces jours, nul homme ne serait sauvé; mais il les a abrégés à cause des élus qu’il a choisis.
21 Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ don’t believe it.
Si quelqu’un vous dit alors: Le Christ est ici, il est là, ne le croyez point.
22 For false christs and false prophets will arise and will show signs and wonders, that they may lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
Car il s’élèvera de faux christs et de faux prophètes, et ils feront des signes et des prodiges, jusqu’à séduire, s’il se pouvait, les élus mêmes.
23 But you watch. “Behold, I have told you all things beforehand.
Pour vous, prenez garde! Voyez, je vous ai tout annoncé d’avance.
24 But in those days, after that oppression, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light,
le soleil s’obscurcira, la lune ne donnera plus sa lumière,
25 the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.
les étoiles du ciel tomberont, et les puissances qui sont dans les cieux seront ébranlées.
26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
Alors on verra le Fils de l’homme venir dans les nuées avec une grande puissance et une grande gloire.
27 Then he will send out his angels, and will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of the sky.
Et alors il enverra ses anges rassembler ses élus des quatre vents, de l’extrémité de la terre jusqu’à l’extrémité du ciel.
28 “Now from the fig tree, learn this parable. When the branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near;
Écoutez cette comparaison du figuier: Dès que ses rameaux sont tendres et qu’il pousse ses feuilles, vous savez que l’été est proche.
29 even so you also, when you see these things coming to pass, know that it is near, at the doors.
Ainsi, quand vous verrez ces choses arriver, sachez que le Fils de l’homme est proche, qu’il est à la porte.
30 Most certainly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.
Je vous le dis en vérité, cette génération ne passera pas que tout cela n’arrive.
31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
Le ciel et la terre passeront, mais mes paroles ne passeront pas.
32 “But of that day or that hour no one knows—not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
Pour ce qui est de ce jour et de cette heure, nul ne les connaît, ni les anges dans le ciel, ni le Fils, mais le Père seul.
33 Watch, keep alert, and pray; for you don’t know when the time is.
Prenez garde, veillez et priez; car vous ne savez pas quand ce sera le moment.
34 “It is like a man traveling to another country, having left his house and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.
C’est ainsi qu’un homme, ayant laissé sa maison pour aller en voyage, après avoir remis l’autorité à ses serviteurs et assigné à chacun sa tâche, commande au portier de veiller.
35 Watch therefore, for you don’t know when the lord of the house is coming—whether at evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning;
Veillez donc, car vous ne savez pas quand viendra le maître de la maison, le soir, ou au milieu de la nuit, ou au chant du coq, ou le matin;
36 lest, coming suddenly, he might find you sleeping.
de peur que, survenant tout à coup, il ne vous trouve endormis.
37 What I tell you, I tell all: Watch!”
Ce que je vous dis, je le dis à tous: Veillez! »
