Job 8
1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
Dann antwortete Bildad von Suah und sprach:
2 “How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind?
Wie lange willst du solches reden, und sind ein heftiger Wind deines Mundes Worte?
3 Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness?
Beugt etwa Gott das Recht oder beugt der Allmächtige gerechte Sache?
4 If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience.
Wenn deine Kinder gegen ihn gesündigt haben, so lieferte er sie ihrem Frevel aus.
5 If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty.
Wenn du dich ernstlich an Gott wendest und zum Allmächtigen um Gnade flehst, -
6 If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous.
wenn du lauter und redlich bist, so wird er alsbald für dich wach werden und deine Wohnstätte in der du als Gerechter weilst, wieder herstellen.
7 Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase.
Dann wird dann dein früheres Los armselig erscheinen, aber herrlich groß wird das nachmalige sein.
8 “Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.
Denn befrage nur frühere Geschlechter und achte auf das, was ihre Väter erforschten.
9 (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)
Denn wir sind von gestern und wissen nichts, weil unsere Tage nur ein Schatten sind auf Erden.
10 Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?
Sie aber werden dich belehren, dir es sagen und aus ihrer Einsicht Kunde geben.
11 “Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water?
“Wächst, wo kein Sumpf ist, Papyrus? Schießt Riedgras ohne Wasser auf?
12 While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed.
“Noch steht's in seinem frischen Trieb, wo es nicht abgeschnitten werden kann, aber vor allem Grase verdorrt es.
13 So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish,
“Das ist das Ende Aller, die Gottes vergessen, und des Ruchlosen Hoffnung wird zu nichte.
14 whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web.
Seine Zuversicht ist ein Sommerfaden, und ein Spinnengewebe ist's, worauf er vertraut.
15 He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure.
“Er stützt sich auf sein Haus, aber es hält nicht Stand; er hält sich daran fest, doch es bleibt nicht stehn.
16 He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden.
“Frisch grünt er angesichts der Sonne, und über seinen Garten laufen seine Senker aus.
17 His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones.
“Um Geröll verflechten sich seine Wurzeln, zwischen Steinen bohrt er sich hindurch.
18 If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’
“Doch wenn er ihn wegtilgt von seinem Standort, so verleugnet ihn der: Ich sah dich nie!
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring.
“Sieh', das ist die Wonne seines Lebenswegs, und aus dem Staube sprossen andre auf!”
20 “Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers.
Nein, Gott verschmäht den Frommen nicht und hält der Missethäter Hand nicht fest.
21 He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting.
Noch wird er deinen Mund mit Lachen erfüllen und deine Lippen mit Jauchzen.
22 Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.”
Die dich hassen, werden sich mit Schande bedecken, aber das Zelt der Frevler wird verschwunden sein.
