Job 5
1 “Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
“Hãy kêu khóc xin giúp, xem có ai sẽ trả lời anh không? Trong các thần thánh có vị nào giúp đỡ anh?
2 For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
Chắc chắn sự oán giận sẽ hủy diệt người dại, và lòng ghen tị sẽ giết người đơn sơ.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
Tôi đã thấy người dại được thành công trong chốc lác, nhưng rồi thình lình xảy đến tai ương.
4 His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
Con cái họ bị ruồng bỏ không ai giúp; bị nghiền nát không ai che chở.
5 whose harvest the hungry eat up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
Người đói ăn mùa màng của họ, ngay cả khi dành giựt giữa bụi gai. Người khát thèm muốn của cải mình.
6 For affliction doesn’t come out of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
Vì sự gian tà không ra từ cát bụi, khốn khó chẳng từ đất nảy sinh.
7 but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
Người ra đời để chịu khổ, như tàn lửa lúc nào cũng bay lên cao.
8 “But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
Nếu là tôi, tôi sẽ kêu cầu Đức Chúa Trời, và giãi bày duyên cớ tôi với Ngài.
9 who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
Chúa làm việc lớn ai lường được. Các việc diệu kỳ, ai đếm cho xuể.
10 who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
Ngài ban mưa cho đất và nước cho ruộng đồng.
11 so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
Ngài cất nhắc người thấp kém và bảo vệ người sầu khổ.
12 He frustrates the plans of the crafty, so that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
Chúa phá tan mưu người xảo trá khiến công việc của tay chúng chẳng thành công.
13 He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
Ngài bắt kẻ khôn ngoan trong mưu chước mình, khiến mưu đồ xảo trá của chúng bị phá tan.
14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
Chúng gặp bóng tối giữa ban ngày, và giữa trưa chúng mò mẫm như trong đêm tối.
15 But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
Chúa cứu người nghèo khổ khỏi lời sắc bén mạnh mẽ, và cứu họ khỏi tay kẻ hung tàn áp bức.
16 So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
Nên người khổ nẩy sinh hy vọng, và hàm kẻ bất công đành im tiếng.
17 “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
Phước cho người được Đức Chúa Trời khuyên dạy! Đừng khinh thường kỷ luật của Đấng Toàn Năng.
18 For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.
Vì Ngài gây thương tích, rồi Ngài lại băng bó, Ngài đánh đau, rồi Ngài lại chữa lành.
19 He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
Ngài sẽ ra tay giải cứu anh khỏi sáu cơn hoạn nạn; ngay đến cơn thứ bảy, Ngài cũng sẽ giữ anh khỏi tai họa.
20 In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
Gặp nạn đói, Ngài cứu anh khỏi chết, trong chiến trận khỏi sức mạnh gươm đao.
21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
Bị vu oan nhưng chẳng nao núng, dù tàn phá, lòng không kinh sợ.
22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
Anh cười trong lúc hoang tàn và đói kém; thú rừng hung dữ không làm anh khiếp kinh.
23 For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.
Anh kết ước với đá ngoài đồng, và thú rừng sẽ thuận hòa với anh.
24 You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.
Anh sẽ thấy nhà anh bình an vô sự. Khi anh kiểm soát bầy súc vật, không mất mát con nào.
25 You will know also that your offspring will be great, your offspring as the grass of the earth.
Anh sẽ có rất nhiều con cái; dòng dõi anh sẽ như cỏ ngoài đồng!
26 You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
Anh sẽ vào phần mộ lúc tuổi cao, như bó lúa gặt hái đúng hạn kỳ!
27 Behold, we have researched it. It is so. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
Chúng tôi tìm hiểu như thế và thấy hoàn toàn đúng. Hãy lắng nghe lời khuyên của tôi, và áp dụng cho bản thân.”
