< Job 5 >

1 “Call now; is there any who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?
“Itana ngati ungathe, koma ndani adzakuyankhe? Kodi ndi kwa mngelo uti ungapezeko thandizo?
2 For resentment kills the foolish man, and jealousy kills the simple.
Mkwiyo umapha chitsiru, ndipo njiru imawononga wopusa.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
Ine ndinaona chitsiru chitamera mizu, koma mwadzidzidzi nyumba yake inatembereredwa.
4 His children are far from safety. They are crushed in the gate. Neither is there any to deliver them,
Ana ake alibe ndi chitetezo chomwe; amaponderezedwa mʼbwalo la milandu popanda owateteza.
5 whose harvest the hungry eat up, and take it even out of the thorns. The snare gapes for their substance.
Anthu anjala amamudyera zokolola zake, amamutengera ndi za pa minga pomwe, ndipo anthu akhwinthi amafunkha chuma chake.
6 For affliction doesn’t come out of the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground;
Pakuti masautso satuluka mʼfumbi, ndipo kuwukira sikuchokera mʼdothi.
7 but man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
Komatu munthu amabadwira kuti azunzike monga momwe mbaliwali zimathethekera mlengalenga.
8 “But as for me, I would seek God. I would commit my cause to God,
“Koma ndikanakhala ine, ndikanamudandawulira Mulungu; ndikanapereka mlandu wanga kwa Iye.
9 who does great things that can’t be fathomed, marvelous things without number;
Iye amachita zozizwitsa zimene sizimvetsetseka, zodabwitsa zimene sizingatheke kuwerengedwa.
10 who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields;
Iye amagwetsa mvula pa dziko lapansi, ndipo amathirira minda ya anthu.
11 so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety.
Iye amakweza anthu wamba, ndipo iwo amene akulira amawayika pa malo otetezedwa.
12 He frustrates the plans of the crafty, so that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.
Iyeyo amalepheretsa chiwembu cha anthu ochenjera, kotero kuti cholinga chawo sichipindula kanthu.
13 He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.
Iye amakola anthu ochenjera mu msampha wa kuchenjera kwawo, ndipo zolinga za atambwali amazithetsa msangamsanga.
14 They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.
Mdima umawagwera nthawi yamasana; nthawi yamasana amayenda moyambasayambasa monga nthawi ya usiku.
15 But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty.
Mulungu amapulumutsa amphawi ku lupanga la mʼkamwa mwawo; amawapulumutsa mʼmanja mwa anthu amphamvu.
16 So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
Choncho osauka ali ndi chiyembekezo, ndipo anthu opanda chilungamo amawatseka pakamwa.
17 “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects. Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.
“Wodala munthu amene Mulungu amamudzudzula; nʼchifukwa chake usanyoze chilango cha Wamphamvuzonse.
18 For he wounds and binds up. He injures and his hands make whole.
Pakuti Iye amavulaza koma amamanganso mabalawo; Iye amakantha munthu, komanso manja ake amachiritsa.
19 He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven no evil will touch you.
Pakuti adzakupulumutsa ku masautso nthawi ndi nthawi, mavuto angachuluke bwanji, sadzakukhudza ndi pangʼono pomwe.
20 In famine he will redeem you from death; in war, from the power of the sword.
Pa nthawi ya njala adzakulanditsa ku imfa, ndipo nthawi ya nkhondo adzakupulumutsa ku lupanga.
21 You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, neither will you be afraid of destruction when it comes.
Adzakuteteza kwa anthu osinjirira, ndipo palibe chifukwa chochitira mantha pamene chiwonongeko chafika.
22 You will laugh at destruction and famine, neither will you be afraid of the animals of the earth.
Uzidzaseka pa nthawi ya chiwonongeko ndi ya njala, ndipo palibe chifukwa chochitira mantha ndi zirombo za mʼdziko lapansi.
23 For you will be allied with the stones of the field. The animals of the field will be at peace with you.
Pakuti udzachita pangano ndi miyala ya mʼmunda mwako, ndipo nyama zakuthengo zidzakhala nawe mwamtendere.
24 You will know that your tent is in peace. You will visit your fold, and will miss nothing.
Udzadziwa kuti nyumba yako ndi malo otetezedwa; udzawerengera katundu wako ndipo sudzapeza kanthu kamene kasowapo.
25 You will know also that your offspring will be great, your offspring as the grass of the earth.
Udzadziwa kuti ana ako adzakhala ambiri, ndipo zidzukulu zako zidzakhala ngati udzu wa mʼdziko lapansi.
26 You will come to your grave in a full age, like a shock of grain comes in its season.
Udzafika ku manda utakalamba, monga mitolo ya zokolola pa nyengo yake.
27 Behold, we have researched it. It is so. Hear it, and know it for your good.”
“Ife tafufuza zimenezi ndipo ndi zoona, choncho uzimvere ndi kuzitsata.”
