Isaiah 11
1 A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
Mais il sort un rameau de la souche d'Isaï, et un rejeton naît de ses racines;
2 The LORD’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
et l'Esprit de l'Éternel repose sur lui, l'esprit de sagesse et d'intelligence, l'esprit de conseil et de force, l'esprit de connaissance et de crainte de l'Éternel.
3 His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;
Il prend son plaisir dans la crainte de l'Éternel, et ne juge point d'après le regard de ses yeux, ni ne décide d'après l'ouïe de ses oreilles;
4 but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
et il juge avec justice les petits, et il est un arbitre équitable pour les malheureux de la terre, et il frappe la terre de la verge de sa bouche, et du souffle de ses lèvres donne la mort à l'impie;
5 Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist.
et la justice est la ceinture de ses reins, et la fidélité la ceinture de ses flancs.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.
Alors le loup gîtera avec l'agneau, et la panthère se couchera près du chevreau; le veau, le lionceau et le gras bétail vivront ensemble, et un petit garçon sera leur conducteur;
7 The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.
et la génisse et l'ourse brouteront ensemble, leurs petits seront couchés ensemble, et le lion comme le bœuf mangera du fourrage,
8 The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
et l'enfant qu'on allaite se jouera près du trou de la vipère, et celui qu'on sèvre présentera sa main au gîte du basilic.
9 They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Il n'y aura plus ni mal ni corruption sur toute ma sainte montagne, car la connaissance de l'Éternel remplira la terre, comme les eaux couvrent le fond de la mer.
10 It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.
Et dans ce même temps, le rejeton d'Isaï sera là comme un étendard pour les peuples; les nations s'adresseront à lui, et sa demeure est glorieuse.
11 It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Et dans ce même jour, le Seigneur étendra une seconde fois sa main pour racheter le reste de son peuple, qui sera échappé de l'Assyrie et de l'Egypte, et de Pathros et de l'Ethiopie, et d'Élam et de Sinear, et de Hamath et des îles de la mer.
12 He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Et Il dressera un étendard pour les peuples, et des quatre bouts de la terre Il recueillera ceux d'Israël qui furent expulsés, et Il rassemblera ceux de Juda qui furent dispersés.
13 The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.
Alors la jalousie d'Éphraïm disparaîtra, et les hommes hostiles de Juda seront exterminés; Éphraïm ne sera plus jaloux de Juda, et Juda ne sera plus hostile à Ephraïm:
14 They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.
et ils voleront sur l'épaule des Philistins à l'occident, ensemble ils pilleront les enfants de l'orient, sur Édom et Moab ils porteront la main, et les enfants d'Ammon leur seront assujettis.
15 The LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.
Alors l'Éternel desséchera le bras de la mer d'Egypte, et agitera sa main sur le Fleuve avec son souffle terrible, et le partagera en sept canaux, afin qu'on le passe avec une chaussure.
16 There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
Et il y aura une chaussée pour le reste de mon peuple, qui sera échappé de l'Assyrie, comme il y en eut une pour Israël, au jour de la sortie du pays d'Egypte.
