Exodus 30
1 “You shall make an altar to burn incense on. You shall make it of acacia wood.
Et tu feras un Autel pour faire fumer l'encens, tu le feras de bois d'acacia;
2 Its length shall be a cubit, and its width a cubit. It shall be square, and its height shall be two cubits. Its horns shall be of one piece with it.
il aura une coudée de longueur et une coudée de largeur, une forme carrée et deux coudées de hauteur avec des cornes qui en sortent.
3 You shall overlay it with pure gold, its top, its sides around it, and its horns; and you shall make a gold molding around it.
Et tu le plaqueras d'or pur, et le dessus et les parois, dans toute sa superficie, de même que ses cornes, et autour tu ménageras une bordure d'or.
4 You shall make two golden rings for it under its molding; on its two ribs, on its two sides you shall make them; and they shall be for places for poles with which to bear it.
Et tu y fixeras deux anneaux d'or à ses deux côtés au-dessous de la bordure; tu les fixeras à ses deux flancs pour recevoir les barres qui serviront à le transporter.
5 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold.
Et tu feras les barres de bois d'acacia, et tu les plaqueras d'or.
6 You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the covenant, before the mercy seat that is over the covenant, where I will meet with you.
Et tu le placeras devant le rideau qui cache l'Arche du Témoignage devant le Propitiatoire qui couvre le Témoignage, au lieu où je m'abouche avec toi.
7 Aaron shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.
Et Aaron y fera fumer un encens d'aromates; il le fera fumer tous les matins lorsqu'il arrangera les lampes;
8 When Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations.
et Aaron le fera fumer aussi lorsque dans la soirée il placera les lampes: que l'encens fume ainsi continuellement devant l'Éternel dans vos âges à venir.
9 You shall offer no strange incense on it, nor burnt offering, nor meal offering; and you shall pour no drink offering on it.
Vous n'y offrirez ni encens étranger, ni holocauste, ni oblation, et n'y répandrez aucune libation.
10 Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once in the year; with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once in the year he shall make atonement for it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the LORD.”
Une fois l'année Aaron fera des expiations sur ses cornes avec le sang versé pour l'expiation du péché; une fois l'année il y fera des expiations dans vos âges à venir. Ce sera un lieu très-saint à l'Éternel.
11 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel adressa ces paroles à Moïse:
12 “When you take a census of the children of Israel, according to those who are counted among them, then each man shall give a ransom for his soul to the LORD when you count them, that there be no plague among them when you count them.
Lorsque dans la revue des enfants d'Israël tu en compteras le nombre total, chacun d'eux paiera à l'Éternel une rançon expiatoire pour sa vie au moment de leur revue, afin qu'une plaie ne leur soit pas infligée au moment de leur revue.
13 They shall give this, everyone who passes over to those who are counted, half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs); half a shekel for an offering to the LORD.
Voici ce que paieront tous ceux qui passeront à la revue, un demi-sicle, monnaie du sanctuaire, le sicle de vingt géras; un demi-sicle sera le don prélevé pour l'Éternel.
14 Everyone who passes over to those who are counted, from twenty years old and upward, shall give the offering to the LORD.
Tout homme âgé de vingt ans et au delà qui passera à la revue paiera le don prélevé pour l'Éternel.
15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less, than the half shekel, when they give the offering of the LORD, to make atonement for your souls.
Le riche ne paiera pas plus, et le pauvre pas moins que le demi-sicle de prestation à l'Éternel, pour la rançon expiatoire de vos vies.
16 You shall take the atonement money from the children of Israel, and shall appoint it for the service of the Tent of Meeting; that it may be a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD, to make atonement for your souls.”
Et ayant reçu des enfants d'Israël l'argent des rançons expiatoires, tu l'affecteras au travail de la Tente du Rendez-vous, afin que ce soit pour les enfants d'Israël un mémorial devant l'Éternel, une rançon expiatoire de leurs vies.
17 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel adressa ces paroles à Moïse:
18 “You shall also make a basin of bronze, and its base of bronze, in which to wash. You shall put it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it.
Tu feras un Bassin d'airain dont le support soit d'airain, pour les ablutions, et tu le placeras entre la Tente du Rendez-vous et l'Autel, et tu y mettras de l'eau.
19 Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet in it.
Et Aaron et ses fils s'y laveront les mains et les pieds.
20 When they go into the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to the LORD.
Lorsqu'ils entreront dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, ils feront ces ablutions, de peur qu'ils ne meurent, ou lorsqu'ils s'approcheront de l'Autel pour officier, pour faire fumer une offrande brûlée pour l'Éternel.
21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die. This shall be a statute forever to them, even to him and to his descendants throughout their generations.”
Et ils se laveront les mains et les pieds de peur qu'ils ne meurent, et ce sera une règle perpétuelle pour eux, pour lui et sa race dans les âges à venir.
22 Moreover the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel adressa ces paroles à Moïse:
23 “Also take fine spices: of liquid myrrh, five hundred shekels; and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, even two hundred and fifty; and of fragrant cane, two hundred and fifty;
Procure-toi des meilleurs aromates, cinq cents [sicles] de myrrhe fluide, une demi-dose soit deux cent cinquante sicles de cannelle odorante et deux cent cinquante de roseau de senteur:
24 and of cassia five hundred, according to the shekel of the sanctuary; and a hin of olive oil.
et cinq cents de casse, poids du sanctuaire, et un hin d'huile d'olive;
25 You shall make it into a holy anointing oil, a perfume compounded after the art of the perfumer: it shall be a holy anointing oil.
et tu en composeras l'huile sainte de l'onction, préparation parfumée que tu feras selon l'art du parfumeur: telle sera l'huile sainte de l'onction.
26 You shall use it to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the covenant,
Et tu en oindras la Tente du Rendez-vous et l'Arche du Témoignage
27 the table and all its articles, the lamp stand and its accessories, the altar of incense,
et la Table et tous ses ustensiles et le Candélabre et tout son attirail, et l'Autel aux parfums
28 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the basin with its base.
et l'Autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et le Bassin et son support,
29 You shall sanctify them, that they may be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.
les consacrant ainsi afin qu'ils soient très-saints: pour les toucher il faudra, être consacré.
30 You shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister to me in the priest’s office.
Tu oindras aussi Aaron et ses fils que tu consacreras pour me servir dans le sacerdoce.
31 You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, ‘This shall be a holy anointing oil to me throughout your generations.
Et tu parleras aux enfants d'Israël en ces termes: Telle est l'huile sainte de l'onction, que je me réserve pour vos âges à venir;
32 It shall not be poured on man’s flesh, and do not make any like it, according to its composition. It is holy. It shall be holy to you.
on n'en répandra sur le corps d'aucun homme, et vous n'en composerez point de pareille aux mêmes doses: elle est sainte et doit être sacrée pour vous:
33 Whoever compounds any like it, or whoever puts any of it on a stranger, he shall be cut off from his people.’”
quiconque en préparera de pareille et en donnera à un étranger sera extirpé de son peuple.
34 The LORD said to Moses, “Take to yourself sweet spices, gum resin, onycha, and galbanum: sweet spices with pure frankincense. There shall be an equal weight of each.
Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse: Procure-toi des aromates et du stacté, et de la blatte et du galbanum à odeur forte, et de l'oliban pur à doses égales;
35 You shall make incense of it, a perfume after the art of the perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy.
et tu en composeras un encens odorant préparé par l'art du parfumeur, salé, pur, saint.
36 You shall beat some of it very small, and put some of it before the covenant in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be to you most holy.
Et tu en pileras pour en faire une poudre dont tu mettras devant le Témoignage dans la Tente du Rendez-vous où je m'abouche avec toi: vous l'aurez pour très-saint.
37 You shall not make this incense, according to its composition, for yourselves: it shall be to you holy for the LORD.
Et vous n'imiterez point pour votre usage cet encens dont vous prendriez les doses: il sera pour vous une chose sacrée, réservée pour l'Éternel.
38 Whoever shall make any like that, to smell of it, he shall be cut off from his people.”
L'homme qui l'imitera pour en respirer le parfum, sera extirpé de son peuple.
