< 1 Timothy 4 >
1 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
Nísinsin yìí, èmi ń tẹnumọ́ ọ́ pé ní ìgbà ìkẹyìn àwọn mìíràn yóò kúrò nínú ìgbàgbọ́, wọn yóò máa fiyèsí àwọn ẹ̀mí tí ń tannijẹ, àti ẹ̀kọ́ àwọn ẹ̀mí èṣù.
2 through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron,
Nípa àgàbàgebè àwọn tí ń ṣèké, àwọn tí ọkàn tìkára wọn dàbí èyí tí a fi irin gbígbóná jó.
3 forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
Àwọn tí ń dánilẹ́kun láti gbéyàwó tiwọn si ń pàṣẹ láti ka èèwọ̀ oúnjẹ ti Ọlọ́run ti dá fún ìtẹ́wọ́gbà pẹ̀lú ọpẹ́ àwọn onígbàgbọ́ àti àwọn ti ó mọ òtítọ́.
4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.
Nítorí gbogbo ohun ti Ọlọ́run dá ni ó dára, kò sí ọkàn tí ó yẹ kí a kọ̀, bí a bá fi ọpẹ́ gbà á.
5 For it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.
Nítorí tí a fi ọ̀rọ̀ Ọlọ́run àti àdúrà yà sí mímọ́.
6 If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine which you have followed.
Bí ìwọ bá ń rán àwọn ará létí nǹkan wọ̀nyí, ìwọ ó jẹ́ ìránṣẹ́ rere ti Kristi Jesu, tí a fi ọ̀rọ̀ ìgbàgbọ́ àti ẹ̀kọ́ rere bọ́, èyí ti ìwọ ti ń tẹ̀lé.
7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables. Exercise yourself toward godliness.
Ṣùgbọ́n kọ ọ̀rọ̀ asán àti ìtàn àwọn àgbà obìnrin, sì máa tọ́ ara rẹ sí ìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run.
8 For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come.
Nítorí ṣíṣe eré-ìdárayá ni èrè fún ohun díẹ̀, ṣùgbọ́n ìwà-bí-Ọlọ́run ni èrè fún ohun gbogbo, ó ní ìlérí ti ìgbé ayé ìsinsin yìí àti ti èyí tí ń bọ̀.
9 This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.
Òtítọ́ ni ọ̀rọ̀ náà, ó sì yẹ fún ìtẹ́wọ́gbà gbogbo.
10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
Nítorí fún èyí ni àwa ń ṣe làálàá tí a sì ń jìjàkadì, nítorí àwa ní ìrètí nínú Ọlọ́run alààyè, ẹni tí í ṣe Olùgbàlà gbogbo ènìyàn, pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú ti àwọn ti ó gbàgbọ́.
11 Command and teach these things.
Nǹkan wọ̀nyí ni kí ó máa paláṣẹ kí ó máa kọ́ni.
12 Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
Má ṣe jẹ́ kí ẹnikẹ́ni gan ìgbà èwe rẹ; ṣùgbọ́n kì ìwọ jẹ́ àpẹẹrẹ fún àwọn tí ó gbàgbọ́, nínú ọ̀rọ̀, nínú ìwà híhù, nínú ìfẹ́, nínú ẹ̀mí, nínú ìgbàgbọ́, nínú ìwà mímọ́.
13 Until I come, pay attention to reading, to exhortation, and to teaching.
Títí èmi ó fi dé, máa fiyèsí kíkàwé àti ìgbaniníyànjú àti ìkọ́ni.
14 Don’t neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the elders.
Má ṣe àìnání ẹ̀bùn tí ń bẹ lára rẹ, èyí tí a fi fún ọ nípa ìsọtẹ́lẹ̀ pẹ̀lú ìgbọ́wọ́lé àwọn alàgbà.
15 Be diligent in these things. Give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may be revealed to all.
Máa fiyèsí nǹkan wọ̀nyí; fi ara rẹ fún wọn pátápátá; kí ìlọsíwájú rẹ lè hàn gbangba fún gbogbo ènìyàn.
16 Pay attention to yourself and to your teaching. Continue in these things, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.
Máa ṣe ìtọ́jú ará rẹ àti ẹ̀kọ́ rẹ; máa dúró láìyẹsẹ̀ nínú nǹkan wọ̀nyí; nítorí ní ṣíṣe èyí, ìwọ ó gba ara rẹ àti tí àwọn ti ń gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ là.
