1 Samuel 25
1 Samuel died; and all Israel gathered themselves together and mourned for him, and buried him at his house at Ramah. Then David arose and went down to the wilderness of Paran.
Und Samuel starb, und ganz Israel kam zusammen und klagte um ihn, und sie begruben ihn in seinem Hause zu Ramah. Und David machte sich auf und ging hinab in die Wüste Paran.
2 There was a man in Maon whose possessions were in Carmel; and the man was very great. He had three thousand sheep and a thousand goats; and he was shearing his sheep in Carmel.
Und es war in Maon ein Mann, der hatte sein Tun in Karmel, und der Mann war sehr groß, und er hatte dreitausend Schafe und tausend Ziegen und war bei der Schur seiner Schafe in Karmel.
3 Now the name of the man was Nabal; and the name of his wife Abigail. This woman was intelligent and had a beautiful face; but the man was surly and evil in his doings. He was of the house of Caleb.
Und der Name des Mannes war Nabal und seines Weibes Name war Abigail. Und das Weib war gut, klug und schön von Gestalt; der Mann aber war hart und handelte böse, und er war ein Kalebiter.
4 David heard in the wilderness that Nabal was shearing his sheep.
Und David hörte in der Wüste, daß Nabal seine Schafe schor.
5 David sent ten young men; and David said to the young men, “Go up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name.
Und David sandte zehn Jungen und David sprach zu den Jungen: Gehet hinauf gen Karmel und geht zu Nabal und fragt ihn in meinem Namen um sein Wohlsein.
6 Tell him, ‘Long life to you! Peace be to you! Peace be to your house! Peace be to all that you have!
Und sprechet so: Für dein Leben sei Friede mit dir und Friede mit deinem Hause und Friede mit allem, was dein ist!
7 Now I have heard that you have shearers. Your shepherds have now been with us, and we didn’t harm them. Nothing was missing from them all the time they were in Carmel.
Und nun höre ich, daß sie dir scheren. Nun waren deine Hirten mit uns, wir haben sie nicht zuschanden gemacht, auch wurde nichts von ihnen vermißt alle Tage, die sie in Karmel waren.
8 Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let the young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a good day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son David.’”
Frage deine Jungen und sie werden es dir ansagen. Es mögen denn die Jungen Gnade finden in deinen Augen, da wir an einem guten Tage gekommen sind; gib doch, was deine Hand findet, deinen Knechten und deinem Sohn David.
9 When David’s young men came, they spoke to Nabal all those words in the name of David, and waited.
Und es kamen die Jungen Davids und redeten zu Nabal nach allen diesen Worten im Namen Davids und hielten inne.
10 Nabal answered David’s servants and said, “Who is David? Who is the son of Jesse? There are many servants who break away from their masters these days.
Und Nabal antwortete den Knechten Davids und sprach: Wer ist David, und wer ist der Sohn Ischais? Viele Knechte laufen heutzutage weg, jeder Mann von seinem Herrn.
11 Shall I then take my bread, my water, and my meat that I have killed for my shearers, and give it to men who I don’t know where they come from?”
Und soll ich mein Brot und mein Wasser und das Schlachtvieh, das ich für meine Scherer geschlachtet habe, nehmen und es Männern geben, von denen ich nicht weiß, woher sie sind?
12 So David’s young men turned on their way and went back, and came and told him all these words.
Und die Jungen Davids kehrten um auf ihrem Weg, und sie kehrten zurück und kamen und sagten ihm an nach allen diesen Worten.
13 David said to his men, “Every man put on his sword!” Every man put on his sword. David also put on his sword. About four hundred men followed David, and two hundred stayed by the baggage.
Und David sprach zu seinen Männern: Jeder Mann gürte sich sein Schwert um. Und jeder Mann gürtete sich sein Schwert um, und auch David gürtete sein Schwert um, und sie zogen hinauf hinter David her, bei vierhundert Mann, und zweihundert blieben zurück beim Gerät.
14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, “Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to greet our master; and he insulted them.
Und der Abigail, Nabals Weibe, sagte dies ein Junge von den Jungen an und sprach: Siehe, David hat Boten gesandt aus der Wüste, um unseren Herrn zu segnen; er ist aber über sie hergefallen.
15 But the men were very good to us, and we were not harmed, and we didn’t miss anything as long as we went with them, when we were in the fields.
Die Männer aber waren sehr gut gegen uns, und wir wurden nicht zuschanden gemacht und vermißten nichts alle Tage, die wir mit ihnen gezogen, da wir auf dem Felde waren.
16 They were a wall to us both by night and by day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.
Eine Mauer waren sie für uns, sowohl bei Nacht als bei Tag, alle Tage, die wir mit ihnen waren, um das Kleinvieh zu weiden.
17 Now therefore know and consider what you will do; for evil is determined against our master and against all his house, for he is such a worthless fellow that one can’t speak to him.”
Und nun wisse und siehe, was du tust, denn Böses ist über unseren Herrn und über sein ganzes Haus beschlossen. Er aber ist ein Belialssohn, so daß man nicht mit ihm reden kann.
18 Then Abigail hurried and took two hundred loaves of bread, two containers of wine, five sheep ready dressed, five seahs of parched grain, one hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on donkeys.
Und Abigail eilte und nahm zweihundert Brote und zwei Schläuche Wein und fünf zubereitete Schafe und fünf Seah geröstetes Korn und hundert Traubenkuchen und zweihundert Feigenkuchen und legte sie auf die Esel.
19 She said to her young men, “Go on before me. Behold, I am coming after you.” But she didn’t tell her husband, Nabal.
Und sprach zu ihren Jungen: Geht vor mir her, sehet, ich komme hinter euch, ihrem Manne Nabal aber sagte sie es nicht an.
20 As she rode on her donkey, and came down hidden by the mountain, behold, David and his men came down toward her, and she met them.
Und es geschah, wie sie auf dem Esel ritt und vom Berge verborgen herabkam, siehe, da kamen David und seine Männer herab, ihr entgegen, und sie traf auf sie.
21 Now David had said, “Surely in vain I have kept all that this fellow has in the wilderness, so that nothing was missed of all that pertained to him. He has returned me evil for good.
David aber hatte gesagt: Umsonst also habe ich gehütet in der Wüste alles, was diesem gehört, daß von all dem Seinen nichts vermißt worden ist, und er gibt mir Böses für Gutes zurück.
22 God do so to the enemies of David, and more also, if I leave of all that belongs to him by the morning light so much as one who urinates on a wall.”
So tue Gott den Feinden Davids und so fahre Er fort, wenn ich von allem, das er hat, bis zum Licht des Morgens einen verbleiben lasse, der die Wand anpißt.
23 When Abigail saw David, she hurried and got off her donkey, and fell before David on her face and bowed herself to the ground.
Und Abigail sah David und ließ sich eilig herab vom Esel, und fiel vor Davids Antlitz auf ihr Angesicht und beugte sich nieder zur Erde.
24 She fell at his feet and said, “On me, my lord, on me be the blame! Please let your servant speak in your ears. Hear the words of your servant.
Und sie fiel ihm zu Füßen und sprach: Auf mir, mein Herr, sei die Missetat, und laß doch reden deine Magd in deine Ohren, und höre an die Worte deiner Magd.
25 Please don’t let my lord pay attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men whom you sent.
Mein Herr nehme es sich doch nicht zu Herzen wegen diesem Belialsmanne, dem Nabal; denn wie sein Name, so ist er; ein Tor ist sein Name und Torheit ist bei ihm; aber ich, deine Magd, habe die Jungen meines Herrn, die du gesandt hast, nicht gesehen.
26 Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, since the LORD has withheld you from blood guiltiness and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies and those who seek evil to my lord be as Nabal.
Nun aber, mein Herr, beim Leben Jehovahs und beim Leben deiner Seele, Jehovah hat dich abgehalten, daß du nicht auf Blut kommst und deine Hand dir geholfen habe. Und nunmehr mögen wie Nabal sein deine Feinde und die wider meinen Herrn Böses sinnen.
27 Now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.
Und nun laß diesen Segen, den deine Dienstmagd meinem Herrn gebracht, den Jungen geben, die zu den Füßen meines Herrn einherwandeln.
28 Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For the LORD will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights the LORD’s battles. Evil will not be found in you all your days.
Verzeihe nun die Übertretung deiner Magd; denn Jehovah wird meinem Herrn ein festes Haus machen, weil mein Herr die Streite Jehovahs streitet und nichts Böses werde in dir gefunden in deinen Tagen.
29 Though men may rise up to pursue you and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord will be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies as from a sling’s pocket.
Und macht sich ein Mensch auf, dir nachzusetzen und dir nach der Seele zu trachten, so sei die Seele meines Herrn in das Bündel der Lebendigen bei Jehovah, deinem Gotte, eingebunden, und die Seele deiner Feinde schleudere er weg mitten aus der Schleuderpfanne.
30 It will come to pass, when the LORD has done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning you, and has appointed you prince over Israel,
Und es wird geschehen, wenn Jehovah meinem Herrn tun wird nach allem Guten, das er über dich geredet hat, und dich zum Führer über Israel entbietet,
31 that this shall be no grief to you, nor offense of heart to my lord, either that you have shed blood without cause, or that my lord has avenged himself. When the LORD has dealt well with my lord, then remember your servant.”
So wird dir dies nicht zum Anstoß und meinem Herrn nicht zum Straucheln des Herzens sein, daß er Blut vergossen umsonst, und daß mein Herr sich selbst geholfen. So wird Jehovah meinem Herrn wohltun, und du wirst deiner Magd gedenken.
32 David said to Abigail, “Blessed is the LORD, the God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me!
Und David sprach zu Abigail: Gesegnet sei Jehovah, der Gott Israels, Der dich an diesem Tage mir entgegengesendet hat.
33 Blessed is your discretion, and blessed are you, who have kept me today from blood guiltiness, and from avenging myself with my own hand.
Und gesegnet sei deine Verständigkeit und gesegnet du, daß du mir an diesem Tage gewehrt hast, mit Blut zu kommen und mir mit eigener Hand zu helfen.
34 For indeed, as the LORD the God of Israel lives, who has withheld me from harming you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely there wouldn’t have been left to Nabal by the morning light so much as one who urinates on a wall.”
Denn wahrlich, beim Leben Jehovahs des Gottes Israels, Der mich abgehalten, dir Böses zu tun, wärest du nicht ein Eile mir entgegengekommen, dem Nabal wäre bis zum Licht des Morgens nicht einer übergeblieben, der die Wand anpißt.
35 So David received from her hand that which she had brought him. Then he said to her, “Go up in peace to your house. Behold, I have listened to your voice and have granted your request.”
Und David nahm von ihrer Hand, was sie ihm brachte und sprach zu ihr: Zieh hinauf in Frieden in dein Haus! Siehe, ich habe auf deine Stimme gehört und dein Angesicht erhoben.
36 Abigail came to Nabal; and behold, he held a feast in his house like the feast of a king. Nabal’s heart was merry within him, for he was very drunk. Therefore she told him nothing until the morning light.
Und Abigail kam zu Nabal, und siehe, er hatte ein Gastmahl in seinem Hause wie ein Gastmahl des Königs, und das Herz Nabals war guter Dinge, und er war sehr betrunken. Sie aber sagte ihm kein Wort an, weder kleines noch großes, bis zum Licht des Morgens.
37 In the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things; and his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.
Und es geschah am Morgen, da der Wein von Nabal ausgegangen war, sagte ihm sein Weib diese Worte an. Und sein Herz erstarb in seinem Inneren, und er ward zum Stein.
38 About ten days later, the LORD struck Nabal, so that he died.
Und es geschah nach zehn Tagen, daß Jehovah den Nabal schlug, und er starb.
39 When David heard that Nabal was dead, he said, “Blessed is the LORD, who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and has kept back his servant from evil. The LORD has returned the evildoing of Nabal on his own head.” David sent and spoke concerning Abigail, to take her to himself as wife.
Und da David hörte, daß Nabal tot war, sprach er: Gesegnet sei Jehovah, Der den Hader ob meiner Schmach von der Hand Nabals gehadert hat und Seinen Knecht vom Bösen zurückgehalten, Nabals Bosheit aber hat Jehovah auf sein Haupt zurückgebracht. Und David sandte und redete mit Abigail, daß er sie zum Weibe für sich nehme.
40 When David’s servants had come to Abigail to Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, “David has sent us to you, to take you to him as wife.”
Und Davids Knechte kamen zu Abigail nach Karmel und redeten zu ihr und sprachen: David hat uns zu dir gesandt, dich zum Weibe zu nehmen für sich.
41 She arose and bowed herself with her face to the earth, and said, “Behold, your servant is a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.”
Und sie stand auf und beugte sich mit dem Antlitz nieder zur Erde und sprach: Siehe, hier ist deine Magd zur Dienstmagd, die Füße der Knechte meines Herrn zu waschen.
42 Abigail hurriedly arose and rode on a donkey with her five maids who followed her; and she went after the messengers of David, and became his wife.
Und Abigail eilte und machte sich auf und ritt auf einem Esel, und ihre fünf Mädchen folgten ihr nach, und sie ging hinter den Boten Davids her und ward ihm zum Weibe.
43 David also took Ahinoam of Jezreel; and they both became his wives.
Und David nahm die Achinoam aus Jisreel, und sie wurden beide seine Weiber.
44 Now Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim.
Saul aber gab seine Tochter Michal, Davids Weib, dem Palti, dem Sohne des Laisch, aus Gallim.
