1 Chronicles 22

1 Then David said, “This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

Entonces dijo David: “¡Aquí (se levantará) la Casa de Yahvé Dios, y aquí el altar de los holocaustos para Israel!”

2 David gave orders to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to cut dressed stones to build God’s house.

Mandó David, juntar a los extranjeros que había en la tierra de Israel, y señaló canteros que preparasen piedras talladas para la construcción de la Casa de Dios.

3 David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates and for the couplings, and bronze in abundance without weight,

Preparó David también hierro en abundancia para la clavazón de las hojas de las puertas y para las trabazones, y cantidad incalculable de bronce

4 and cedar trees without number, for the Sidonians and the people of Tyre brought cedar trees in abundance to David.

y madera de cedro innumerable, pues los sidonios y los tirios trajeron a David madera de cedro en abundancia.

5 David said, “Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it.” So David prepared abundantly before his death.

Porque David se decía: “Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y de tierna edad, y la Casa que ha de edificarse para Yahvé debe ser grande sobre toda ponderación, para renombre y para gloria en todos los países. Haré para ella los preparativos.” E hizo David abundantes provisiones antes de su muerte.

6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.

Después llamó a su hijo Salomón, al que mandó que edificase una Casa para Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

7 David said to Solomon his son, “As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.

Dijo David a Salomón: “Hijo mío, yo tenía la intención de edificar una Casa al Nombre de Yahvé, mi Dios,

8 But the LORD’s word came to me, saying, ‘You have shed blood abundantly and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.

Pero fue dirigida a mí esta palabra de Yahvé: «Tú has vertido mucha sangre y hecho grandes guerras; no podrás edificar tú la Casa a mi Nombre, porque has derramado delante de mí mucha sangre en la tierra.

9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of peace. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

He aquí que te nacerá un hijo, el cual será hombre de paz, y le daré descanso de todos sus enemigos de en derredor; porque Salomón será su nombre, y en sus días daré paz y tranquilidad a Israel.

10 He shall build a house for my name; and he will be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

Él edificará una Casa a mi Nombre; él será para mí hijo, y Yo seré padre para él; y estableceré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.»

11 Now, my son, may the LORD be with you and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has spoken concerning you.

Ahora, pues, hijo mío, Yahvé sea contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa de Yahvé tu Dios, como Él de ti lo ha predicho.

12 May the LORD give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.

Te conceda tan solo Yahvé prudencia y entendimiento, para que, habiéndote Él dado poder sobre Israel, guardes la Ley de Yahvé, tu Dios.

13 Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid and don’t be dismayed.

Entonces te saldrá bien la obra si cuidares de cumplir los mandamientos y los preceptos que Yahvé ha prescrito a Moisés para Israel. ¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo! ¡No temas, ni te amedrentes!

14 Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the LORD’s house one hundred thousand talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron without weight; for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone; and you may add to them.

He aquí lo que yo en mi aflicción he preparado para la Casa de Yahvé: De oro, cien mil talentos; de plata, un millón de talentos, y de cobre y de hierro una cantidad incalculable por su abundancia. He preparado también maderas y piedras cuya cantidad tú podrás aumentar.

15 There are also workmen with you in abundance—cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of men who are skillful in every kind of work;

Y tienes a mano muchos obreros, canteros, talladores de piedras y carpinteros, y toda clase de hombres hábiles para toda suerte de obra.

16 of the gold, the silver, the bronze, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may the LORD be with you.”

El oro, la plata, el bronce y el hierro son sin número. ¡Levántate, pues! ¡Manos a la obra, y Yahvé sea contigo!

17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

Mandó David a todos los príncipes de Israel que ayudasen, a su hijo Salomón (diciéndoles):

18 “Isn’t the LORD your God with you? Hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people.

“¿No está con vosotros Yahvé, vuestro Dios? ¿Y no os ha dado paz por todos lados? Pues Él ha entregado en mis manos los habitantes del país, y el país está sujeto delante de Yahvé y delante de su pueblo.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to follow the LORD your God. Arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the LORD’s covenant and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the LORD’s name.”

Aplicad ahora vuestro corazón y vuestra alma para buscar a Yahvé, vuestro Dios. Levantaos y edificad el Santuario de Yahvé, Dios, para trasladar el Arca de la Alianza de Yahvé y los utensilios del Santuario de Dios, a la Casa que ha de edificarse al Nombre de Yahvé.”
